Delicious place. They really know what they are doing. Excellent food quality. This was my first review The second one is this. The chicken was disgusting, and everything from grape leafs to kibbeh appeared to be frozen and defrosted. It was expensive and the food was worse than mediocre. Truly appeared as old food. First time I went made me want to go again. Second time was so bad that I am never going back.

This unassuming restaurant has the best Lebanese food in town by far. Although the location and décor leave something to be desired, the food more than makes up for it, and isn’t that what it’s all about? Not only is it delicious, but the portions are very generous for a price that will not leave you asking to do dishes to pay the bill after your meal. After you enjoy the bounties of your delicious meal, don’t hesitate to order a Turkish coffee, you will not regret it…

Loved it! I was in town for work and followed Unilocal’s recommendation give this place a try. I was not disappointed. We ordered falafel and spicy chicken with tabbouleh and labneh. Everything was outstanding and the service was excellent. Definitely give them a try!

Phenom service and food. Was in from out of town, traveling and staying at the nearby SpringHill Suites, and wanted something that wasn’t a burger. This place fit the bill … had a wonderful smell when walking in, and some music playing that reminded me of my time in the Middle East. Got the Lebanese Mix plate, which had about 5 different meats on it, and harrisa for dessert. Couldn’t have asked for more.

Yum yum YUM!!! Get the spicy chicken(not for the weak — this is SERIOUS spice!!) on a bed of saffron basmati rice for a real delight. Your stomach will thank you! Great spot, very clean, the owner is terrific and you feel right at home with the intimacy of the restaurant. Very personable staff as well!

I stopped by but didn’t have much time, so I took it to-go. It was my first time trying Lebanese food, having never come across it before, but I have tried similar ethnic foods. I ordered the chicken shawarma, which I’d had before at a semi-Mediterranean restaurant at my old college campus. This restaurant’s was absolutely delicious! I’m going back and ordering it again. I also had their labneh, which I had never tried. However, they correctly labeled it as jocoque, which my very Mexican grandmother has been making my entire life and I naturally really like. I googled it and apparently our version originated from theirs. That was a super cool fun fact to learn, and yes, it tasted just as good. They also seem to have meat empanadas, which obviously also have their proper non-Latin name listed. I haven’t tried them yet, but I’ve tried the Latin version, so I’m thinking that – if my jocoque experience serves as an indicator – I’m bound to like them just as much. I’m intrigued. Their service was kind of amazing. I felt very welcomed. The man who greeted me was very nice and offered to help me(on menu questions/select menu items) after finding out it was my first time there. He even gave me a falafel to try while I waited for my order. It was crunchy and super tasty. I also really liked that they have labeled pictures of the food on the walls. I always find that helpful when trying out new food. I highly recommend this restaurant! Their prices were also super reasonable. Like I mentioned before, I’ll be returning.

Would you believe we went back? Delicious food. Had the meat grape leaves, tabbouleh, kibbei.(both raw and baked). Most fantastic food. I would recommend this place to everybody who lives down here. Sorry people, but I get tired of traditional Mexican carbohydrates. Want something else.

So maybe I’m a bit of a stickler when it comes to Mediterranean food, but this placed seemed pretty on point with menu items. Staff is friendly … And while waiting for my beef(kofta) plate, the cook made me a heart shaped falafel to try, which honestly was incredibly delicious. Like, I almost changed my order but didn’t want to be rude because he had gotten started already. The Kofta was good, but not much to my liking. Sides were amazing. I was too hungry to notice that the plate didn’t come with pita… at all. That was a huge downer. I know carbs aren’t recommended much, but geez a gal likes to have her pita ! Luckily I had some pita chips in my hotel room. All in all– not bad, I’d definitely try falafel plate if I’m around again.

Do you ever get a craving for a specific cuisine in a location where you know you probably won’t find if? That’s exactly what happened to me when I was craving some delicious Mediterranean deep down in the rio grande valley in McAllen. After finding this quaint little place with awesome reviews, I just had to check it out. For $ 22, I had a mountain of food — spicy chicken, rice, roasted Lebanese veggies, tabouleh and a side of falafel. The falafel was seriously THEBESTIVE ever had. The sweet owner even hooked it up with a free kibbeh for me to try. Watch out with that spicy chicken, it could turn you into a dragon. The food is beyond amazing considering its Lebanese in McAllen. The service is even better.

Authentic. The hummus, baba ganoush and tabouli salad were spot on. The grape leaves are made at the restaurant and are very good. I would definitely return.

Oh Lebanese bistro, where do I begin? My husband found this place and it has some absolutely amazing Mediterranean food– best Arab food I’ve had in the U.S. for sure. The falafel is ridiculous and the corn salad is a hidden treasure. The hummus and baba ghanoush are also always great. My husband likes the kabobs here too, but I can never get away from the falafel(how can you top perfection?). The staff is also very friendly and service is quick. Bottom line: go try this place. You won’t regret it.

First time visiting this establishment. The service was friendly and attentive. The restaurant itself was clean and fairly simply decorated. While we had table service the place feels like an «order at the counter» type place. The food was great. I especially liked the Tabbouleh Salad and the Baba Ghanoush, both were perfect. I can recommend this place and it’s a nice change from most of the corporate chain establishments in the RGV.

My last night in McAllen and I came across this amazing bistro. I was looking for something I can’t find back home and this had high reviews on Unilocal. The hospitality was wonderful and everything I have tasted is so delicious. I had the Lebanese Mix, in order to try a little of everything and the only disappointment is I probably won’t finish it all before my flight tomorrow. Give it a try. If you don’t know what to order, there are pictures on the walls to see what options are available

The food is very good and authentic. We had a good experience and liked the bistro better than zaytoon. The chicken shawarma was excellent and the corn salad was awesome too. One complaint is that you have to pay for pita bread and the sauces on the side are really small for a dollar. If you like sides like cabbage rolls or dolma they can be ordered a la carte. Definitely the best Mediterranean food in the area.
