I’ve passed this place several times and thought it might be expensive but after looking at the online menu I realized it’s very affordable. My favorite was the shrimp mambo rice. The fish was fresh and the kids loved the popcorn shrimp. You can also order fresh fish and have them cook it or take it home to cook. Update May 2016: on my second trip I was even more impressed with everything we ordered. Also the service is excellent. I am weary about giving a 5 star review the first time as the 2nd time might not be consistent. But no! This place is amazing. Super affordable and the kids love it. My recommendations: 1. Choose mambo rice for any plate and then order w basket of fries. You must eat them both. 2. Eat fish! Eat shrimp! 3. Try the pepida if you like a cucumber drink! 4. Check out the seafood display. Impressive. 5. Be adventurous and try your rice habanero style.

The rice, tilapia and popcorn shrimp are outstanding. The micheladas are a must and complement the meal perfectly. Good lively atmosphere.

Mambo is my favorite place to go eat seafood besides south padre. The oysters and shrimp are always fresh and the fried foods are really yummy as well. I love the rice and the French fries too. The fish ceviche is so delicious and fresh, I love to treat myself to mambo at least once a month. Amazing customer service and I love sitting on the patio. Great atmosphere out there, there may be a wait so call ahead especially on holidays and occasions.

We love Mambo Seafood but not this location. The ones in Houston are famous for their rice and gumbo. This one got both of those completely wrong and more. I think the franchise would be horrified as to the lack of quality of the product that represents them.

Oh how I wish there was a Mambo where I currently live. The fish is always fresh and tasty and the stuffed bacon wrapped shrimp is to die for. Literally one of the best foods I’ve ever tasted. I would highly recommend Mambo if you’re looking for seafood. The only other place that is at the same level is Pappadeaux.

The food is great, a nd the seafood is awesome. We asked for shrimp fried rice and to my amazement it is some of the best I have ever had. We go there all the time for the fried rice and breaded shrimp. This place is always packed so you know the seafood is fresh. I would recommend this place to everyone because it is good for the price and the atmosphere is great. It is located in a nice area with lots of room inside and parking. Great overall…

Just ate here with co-workers. Great food, a little high on price, but it was really good. The shrimp was delicious. Service was very fast and friendly. We will be back.

Not quite what you would expect when you drive up with all the bright lights and big screens tv’s. I ordered the half order of calamari with was obviously over cooked and I am not sure it was cooked this week!!! It was dry and like chewing a rubber band. I ordered the snapper split with the zorandeado frito sauce or how ever you spell it it was like a hot pasty gravy which was awful!!! I figured a $ 20.00 entrée you should at least get a real plate and not a cheap plastic cafeteria plate. Never again will I explore this establishment.

I have ate at a lot of Mambos restaurants, especially in Houston. I love Mambo because their fried rice and Vuelve a la Vida Ranchero… This is the the third time I eat here in Mambo’s in Mission. I have return in hopes that their food will be as tasty as Mambo’s in Houston. Today I walked away from this place. Their rice is cold and uncooked, the worst I have ever had. Their service is bad. Their platter is dipped in salt and they refuse to accept that their food is salty. If you want good seafood food stay away from here, you will be disappointed.

The food was really good and fresh but you do have to wait on it. In all, a pretty good place to get a meal.

I love the food! My wife loves the food! Ceiveche, grilled shrimp, oysters half shell al good! But when I spend $ 63 including $ 10 tip I expect the bathroom to be CLEAN! There were only 2 toilets and a urinal! There was crap all over one(the handicap) and pee all I’ve the other and toilet paper all over the floor. When I walked out I told two waitresses who were visiting and holding the door up and they did nothing… my car was right in front and after I got in the car they just kept talking to each other! I called in my ph as I was leaving to tell a mgr.

Pros: place was decent, good location, average food.. . Cons: service slower than molasses(and it was with a reservation) servers need to be more attended. Food has more fries than it has food. — Bryan Lopez.. .. .. .. Slow service. I expected more of the taste and presentation of the food and it honestly was very mediocre. Fun patio center was nice.

I’m updating my review as I returned to have the bacon wrapped shrimp(bacon, cheese, jalapeño, and shrimp) and it was delicious and filling. Served with fried rice, it was improved upon with more shrimp, green onion, and cooked white onion than before, thus increasing the flavor. With choice of salad or fries, the fries were crispy and golden, not bad for frozen(I’ll take them over McDonald’s or Whataburger’s fries). The service was excellent again, so I’m awarding three stars based on this dish. I shall return.

I’ve gone to their Houston restaurants since I was a kid so I was excited to hear that they opened one near home, I always only get their rice and fries and it’s always DELICIOUS. They serve their rice in huge portions and id say the price is pretty cheap. The waiters are friendly and helpful but the one I got when I went was maybe tired or something as she seemed not 100% as the others. DONOTGETWATER, I can assure you ITSTAP water with ice. I don’t drink soda and I’m very picky when it comes to iced tea so I went with water as my drink but it was a massive mistake, but they do have bottled water.

Not all that is cracked up to be. The line was long to get seated and the service was slow. Once seated the«famous» rice turned out to be Chinese fried rice with shrimp. The shrimp size was small but tasty none the less. The prices are very reasonable considering how expensive sea food is.
