Only my 2nd Unilocal review ever! I had a Pablo burger last night and it was the best thing I have EVER eaten! This place makes the bread for the bun from scratch. Slow roasts brisket to put on top of hand ground beef burger, with cheese and Caramelized onions on top. So good! Long Island ice tea was great. Not so strong that you can’t enjoy your food. 5 stars for the food and drink!

This place was very good! Yes, there was an older crowd, & yes, the service was a bit slow but I pleasantly enjoyed it either way. I personally do not like servers being overly attentive. It does get annoying. However, our server came and asked us about 3 times if we were good or needed anything during our meal and while we were having drinks. So it was not bad at all. And as for the older crowd, I loved it! It wasn’t rowdy or full of young, stupid people. It was a calm environment. It’s not like older people make the food/drinks taste any better or worse. So those of you who prefer that environment, you will like it here. My only beef was with the AC. It was so cold in there(4-stars)! We got there at 9p. I wore shorts and a tank top. Left at 11p and was glad to finally defrost outside. I don’t know if it’s normally that cold but I’ll just take a sweater next time, or wear jeans. So for those of you who get cold, I recommend wearing jeans or taking a sweater. If you love being cold then this is the place for you. I know it can get a bit warm after drinking a bit so maybe that’s why it was so cold? Now the food… I really enjoyed my California chicken sandwich! It had a chicken breast, tomato, lettuce, American and Swiss cheese, bacon, and avocado. I asked the server to throw in a pickle spear on the side and to put buffalo sauce in the sandwich. It was very delicious and hot. The fries were delicious and crisp. I did not have a single wimpy fry on my plate. I normally don’t finish any plate but I did here! My better half had the steak enchiladas. We thought there was going to be steak in the enchilada but it’s 3 enchiladas with a steak on the side of the plate. He really enjoyed it as well. I didn’t drink much to leave a review on their drinks, but I had the Cosmo and it was good. I’ve had better cosmos, but would I still order it next time… yes! So check this place out for yourself. We really enjoyed it.

Definitely a hang out for the 55+ crowd Good food. Great service and bartenders. What gives it the 3 stars is the older crowd. I was looking for a little more lively crowd.

Really fun local’s sports bar. Service is always great. The BBQ they offer is much better then any bar food you’ll get elsewhere. I’d recommend the BBQ nacho to start with, but only if you have a healthy appetite. Drink specials are good. Decent selection of beers on tap as well as bottles. Full bar for your mixed drinks as well.

Decent place for the 40 something crowd. My wife and I stopped by once as we were driving by for dinner. The bar was packed and the restaurant end was empty. We sat at the restaurant end almost to be ignored completely by staff tending to the bar end. Food was ok but draft was a little warm. Wont be by until I turn 40 in 12 years.

Are all of you just wasted when you wrote these reviews? If you aren’t over the age of 40 you won’t be served at the bar. The service was horrible — our waitress(61 years old I’m thinking) was extremely rude and overcharged the amount of food and drinks we had. We asked to get our ticket split and the waitress threw a fit telling us we should have let her know as soon as we sat down. Lazy, overcooked food and a weird atmosphere. No, thank you. Don’t waste your money here.

This is a local«watering hole» kinda like Cheers! It is fun, close & everyone really does know your name and what you drink. The atmosphere is typical sports bar with about 15 to 20 tv’s tuned to whatever sports you want to watch. They even have a small private room with a big screen for small groups & a large dining room for big crowds. But what is not typical sports bar is the service & the food! The chef is definitely a 5 star! We have been going there lately to watch the NCAA championships & have had the most delicious food we’ve had in a long time. Beer Cheese Soup with a delicious fried fish sandwich big enough for two. Cabbage Soup with Pork Schnitzel & steamed veggies — definitely enough for two & Chicken Soup with Garbanzo Beans & Chicken Crepes(crepes in south Texas??) with wild rice & steamed veggies. Also all entrees came with lettuce & fresh tomato salad on the plate & Texas toast. Soups came with fresh baked roll, not crackers. I told my husband I am giving up cooking because the food is so good & varied. Who knows what the Chef will concoct next, but I will certainly order it when I am there. Definitely not your typical steak & potatoes, or grilled chicken salad. They do also have a set menu that has great nachos & bar b q & stuffed chicken, etc. but their specials are to die for. The servers are exceptional too, not only do they remember your names & drink, but they are pleasant & seem to enjoy being there & serving you, which is a rarity these days. I hope they stay around for a long while!

Great service. Great brisket. The beans had shredded beef in them. The prices are fantastic. If I lived here I would be a regular.

Every time I’m in the valley I get dragged to the office. And by dragged I mean rush there with joy in my heart. Why? Because I have discovered they have great margaritas. Now, let me qualify that. They’re not those simpering sweet margaritas you get other places. They’re true blue Mexico margaritas, served with olives, tang and just the barest hint of sweetness. They’re generously sized and blended right there in front of you. No pull handled pre made action here. Also, if you ask nicely, they’ll give you the rest of the blender for free. Sadly, the food has declined in quality a little bit… or a lot bit. But when you’re drunk n hungry, who cares?

This place is great at being what it is: a bar with good beer and bar food(brisket, burgers, ribs, etc.). It’s a sports bar without the douche effect. The atmosphere is cozy — wooden walls and bar make for a nice feel. It’s relaxing without feeling like you’re supposed to be being cool as you might feel at Roosevelt’s. The food is really good — we were given a complementary cup of soup, even the person who hadn’t ordered food was offered it and it was good as was my brisket and bbq beans. The most significant thing to mention is that the service was super attentive without being annoying — something really hard to find in the RGV.

An actual pub! With pub food! Cheese and beer soup(surprisingly good), heavy wood tables, darker atmosphere at the bar, and good beer on tap. It’s somewhere you can go talk while you drink and eat your way to oblivion. ‘Irish’ bar(is the opposite of Irish) and London(a former Bennigans) can’t hold a candle to this place!

My brother and I walked into this spot after having quite a few @ Cigar Bar. We had tall Stella’s on tap for $ 7 which seems a bit pricey, but hey why not. We were starving so we came in here to eat, not really drink… My Brother had Chicken Fried Steak, I could see that it was fork tender and he demolished it so it must’ve been good. I had the Mushroom/Bacon Burger which was really good, and the homemade chips were tasty as well. The bartender told me to try the brisket next time, and I think that I will. He said that they make it on premises.

This is a great place to kick back and drink a beer after a long day at the office. Funny how you would leave one office to go to another huh? anyways, the owner walks around with his lonestar and discusses with you about whay you ordered and what you should have ordered lol. All in all it was a pretty nice little hang out!
