Shipley Donuts

I loved it been coming here since I was a kid have been to many other doughnut shops outside of the valley non match up to Shipleys in my opinion. I haven’t gone in a while because when they hired the guy with glasses he is always mad and rolls his eyes at me and makes me feel like I’m an idiot. That is the only reason it is not 5 stars. So I only go when he is not working their.

Great donuts, decent location, prices are average, and donuts are always fresh, highly recommend this place.

Oh Shipley how glorious you are. I have never been an avid donut eater and I am not a pastry eater either, but I have indulged in Krispy Kreme many times being from Southern California. I have to say I am in love with Shipley donuts, I have given up on my Krispy Kreme love affair due to the glazed cake donut from Shipley. I also enjoy their regular glazed donut I have had several other donuts there, over several visits, in a short span of time, and have enjoyed them throughly.

I’ve been coming to McAllen Texas for 10 years now and can’t believe I haven’t tried Shipley donuts before. They were so good tender flavorful and the glaze donut I got was fresh from the oven. Even their «no name «coffee was excellent. So much variety and something for everyone!

Okay so this is the third time I try Shipley’s and unfortunate it’s still not good. I don’t get what the big deal is the donuts are greasy and each time I go they’re stale. I ordered an apple fritter and it was hard and greasy, the éclair was hard as well. The only good donut was the lemon filled which was good but that’s it. I’ve had really good donuts and great donuts. And for those that think Shipley is great, you need to get out of McAllen and try real donuts…

These donuts deserve their 5 stars and if I had less self control, you can bet my small frame would be plumping up VERY quickly. Fantastic donuts!
Bf and I bought a variety dozen to test this place out since we drive by often. I am only slightly ashamed to admit that I had THREE donuts right off the bat. This is unheard of for me. I enjoy donuts, but I’ll eat a ½ donut elsewhere and be donut-​satisfied for a good 2 months. We finished the box within a few hours… shameless. We have entirely different preferences in donut flavor, texture, and sweetness but we were both extremely pleased. I almost regret discovering Shipley Donuts because I’ve been craving them daily since.
Staff was very helpful with our decision-​making process and super friendly. Donuts were inexpensive, especially relative to their deliciousness.
What more can I say? These donuts are the best I’ve ever had!

My ass would be the size of Texas if I lived any closer to Shipley Donuts. These donuts are undoubtedly the best donuts I’ve ever tasted. If I could marry a donut, I couldn’t because they’re all amazing. I would marry all of the donuts. I want them all– even the jelly donuts! Never ever in my life did I like a jelly donut until Shipley’s Believe it or Not changed my life.

I really have nothing bad to say about this location. Great fresh donuts, great selection, pick up a dozen of your choice, they are delicious. Staff is friendly too, coffee has been good when I have visited, check it out if you want to bring donuts to the office without the absurd price tag.

I love eating doughnuts here. It has this homey smell to it that reminds you of quality doughnuts. Its doesn’t feel like commercial doughnuts. Lots of love and respect for the night crew, you do us all late night fatties a favor.

waaat? open ²⁴⁄₇ lol! Im always good to stop by for a sweet treat. They have some nice flavored cake donuts as well as regular donuts. They have the glazed, the powered, sugar coated, etc, etc a bit of everything. You can eat there or take it to go. I looove cake donuts, they just have such a good consistency. Plain and just sweet enough. mmm~

Mmmmm, donuts. If Homer Simpson himself had to choose a place to buy donuts, he’d probably go to a Shipley’s. Their donuts are really different from others you’ve probably tasted, their donuts are more dense and aren’t the light, fluffy, empty donuts you might get at lesser donut shops. These are not «I’ll eat half a dozen» these are «I’ll have one, maybe two» donuts. Also, the glaze on them isn’t over sweet, it’s more of an accent and works with the flavor of the batter instead of smothering it.
Great staff and open 24 hours with a drive-​thru means that you can get your donut on anytime you feel like it. If you haven’t tried them yet, please do, you won’t regret it!
