Food was fresh and fast. Service was friendly and no one in my party had a dry drink. Prices were a tad on the high side, but made up for it with the generous portions. Glad we took our Grammy here for her 82nd birthday, she was tickled pink at the people and the name. Just make sure you have cash or a check handy as they don’t take the plastics.

We ate here on our layover of the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway trip. It was delicious! Great burgers and that on the house scoop of ice cream hit the spot! The only bad thing was it could have been cooler inside!

Great food, but no credit cards and canned soda with no refills. I kind of feel like these two conveniences were made super easy about 10 – 15 years ago. Was very disappointed and it caused us to not buy additional things like ice cream and some sings on the wall since we weren’t prepared for the cash issue. If this place had the«modern» conveniences, it would have been 4 – 5 star.

Burgers were good but they charge $ 2.00 for 1 Can of sprite with no refills. They don’t tell you that until you need a refill. Ran out of fries on a Saturday night but didn’t tell us until they brought the food.

This is NOT a fast food joint. The food Is fresh, the service is friendly. Be sure to get an order of the fabulous home made onion rings.

Too bad I can’t give a 0 star review. This charming little piece of hell features vintage style art you can buy, which is perfect if you are a racist! That’s right, for $ 10 your can have your own sign featuring the classic«pickaninny». Don’t support these racist fools, please.

The ice cream is great. The woman that was our server and ice cream scooper was wonderful. I got the chicken po boy and it was quite flavorful. I quite enjoyed it. The chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream is great!

I don’t think this place deserves all these 1 star reviews. Food was fresh and good. Wait staff very friendly. We visited during a quiet time, service speed was fine!

Cute joint. Slow service. The place was filled with tourists waiting for what it looked like a looooong time to get their food. I mean, they only serve the basic sandwich-y dishes, but I guess their kitchen and wait staff just can’t handle the long hoards of tubers, train riders, and rafters coming in. I would not even go back.

This place was just awful! We went to Pearly Gates during our Blue Ridge Railway layover. It looked like a cute place from the sidewalk. I’m usually pretty easy going, but the staff was really rude, and it took an hour to get our sandwiches, which were yucky(I had a chicken parm sub). It felt expensive too($ 10 for just a sandwich). I would definitely suggest trying somewhere else!

My party visited this establishment on a Saturday after a wonderful ride on the Blue Ridge Scenic railway. We were looking forward to exploring McCaysville but never got the chance since it took 15 minutes to get acknowledged and an hour to get our food after ordering. There didn’t seem to be any rhyme or reason to the flow of service. Considering this complete lack of attention to service and the quality of the food we eventually ate, the prices were audacious. When the food arrived it was cold. A very disappointing experience that was only washed away by the scenic grandeur of the ride back to Blue Ridge.
