Great food, chicken salad, omelet, roast beef no matter what it is the food is always good. On of the best kept secrets in Blue Ridge.

In a nutshell: This place is fine for what it is but its a bit overpriced in some item. Its also a bit dim and while it does have a nice view of the river, it leaves much to be desired for inside. When its cold and you just can’t sit outside, you may as well just skip the place. We went for lunch on a very blustery day, so we definitely could not sit outside. Inside, like I mentioned, its a bit drab and dim. There is also some tables pushed into one side/corner of the store and the other tables in a separate room but it doesn’t look like it was done with much thought… just trying to find more spaces besides the window which they desperately need. The servers were very nice. We had 2 servers and 1 food runner. Thought it was a bit strange though that one server took our drinks, the other our food order. Made it confusing as to whom our real server was. The food itself was OK for this type of café. Nothing fancy. The tomato basil soup(I got the soup and sandwich) was good and felt homemade but came out cold unfortunately. The onion rings were really, really yummy! They also seemed homemade. My husband and I got Reubens which were fine but a bit on the small side. My girls got 2 shrimp baskets. I got coffee and two hot chocolates for the girls. All in all the check came to about $ 50 plus tip. Just seemed more than what I was expecting to pay for that kind of food and especially the small portions. There isn’t much more around so you may just be stuck coming here if you find yourself in this area. It may be worth it to drive 20 minutes to Blue Ridge and find something better.

Cute mountain kind of place. We stopped here while on the Scenic Blue Ridge Railroad. We both had the homemade Tomato Basil soup… It was not bad, just okay… and it was warm, not hot enough like soup should be… On to the rest of the meal… We both had the Cod fish n chips… Also not bad, just okay… I’m sure it was frozen fish… That’s okay. I was not expecting gourmet… The pieces were a little thin. I was hoping for a little bit thicker. The fries were just okay too. There were 2/different kinds of fries on our plates… To me thats just strange…

We were visiting in the area and checked out some of the local shops. The small local communities usually don’t offer many places with«gourmet like cuisine». I save my searches for gourmet locations for the bigger cities or communities. However in the small communities, there’s usually a good café, coffee shop or BBQ that will offer comfort foods. So, we stopped in at this café to get a quick bite to eat. They close at 3:00, it was 2:15. We had BLT’s and Philly steak sandwich with fries or potato salad. Overall, very good sandwiches, fries were hot and crunchy. It was done right. Potato salad was good too. Service was good. We sat out in the patio overlooking the river/water. Nice place with really good basic sandwiches. The soup was sold out(tomato basil). They have a patio, it appears to be dog friendly too. Major plus for this! Our overall experience for this location, at the time was good.

We were looking for a place to get a cup of coffee and relax with the dogs while exploring the N. GA mountains and stumbled across this little gem. For the area we would definitely give it a solid 4 stars — for ambiance(patio on the river with ducks and geese floating by), being dog friendly, good food/value($ 15 dollars for breakfast for two incl. tip), and quick efficient service. Food: Coffee was good and refills timely. My husband had a ham, egg and cheese sandwich on wheat and said they have«mastered the art of the breakfast sandwich.» Thick ham, thin omelet and just the right amount of cheese. I had the sausage biscuits and gravy and it was really good. Lots of meat, savory gravy and grilled biscuits. Will definitely come back if in the area again.

I don’t like giving sub-par reviews — but I wish other people had so that I wouldn’t have gone here. The menu is pretty dull — we’d ordered our drinks already or else I may have opted to leave based on the offerings. I wanted a good salad and they only had Caesar with chicken or shrimp, fried chicken salad or grilled chicken salad… was hoping for something a bit more(even a chef salad perhaps?) but oh well. I went with the grilled chicken salad, which consisted of fatty cut-up chicken on top of just lettuce — I had to ask for a side of onions just to add something to it. I was embarrassed that I had to actually spit a few pieces out because they were so fatty. My kids’ chicken fingers and fries were fine — nothing great, pretty overcooked, but they ate them. The highlight of the meal was my husband’s soup — mushroom brie, which was actually very good. His chicken salad sandwich was also passable. The waitress wasn’t overly friendly, which seemed surprising to us in a small town. I regret to say I wouldn’t come back.

After a not so scenic train ride from Blue Ridge to McCaysville with two small children in toe, we crossed the bridge and found this establishment. Upon entering I was a bit worried — surely there’s another option in this tourist town… But when our meals arrived we were greeted with a pleasant surprise: homemade soups, deliciously seasoned chicken, tasty reuben, & chicken salad. In any other city this would be a solid 3 star but for this small town it’s equivalent would be a solid 4.5. Stick with any of the grilled chicken options and you’ll be quite pleased!
