Floyd’s Frosty

We were passing through the area around dinner time and didn’t feel like cooking dinner at our campsite. We ended up eating at Floyd’s Frosty based on the feedback on Unilocal.The burgers were amazing; the ingredients were fresh. We’ll definitely return when we’re in the area again.

Stopped by this little gem while out camping in the wilderness. The burgers were tasty and delicious. The ingredients were fresh. Also loved the Oreo shake. It was made thick, just the way shakes should be.
The two people there (staff? owners?) were very friendly and helpful.

OMG! One of the best hamburgers I’ve had out in a while. The sourdough burger was awesome. So was the root beer float.

Look no more, they serve the best hamburgers in Cali, the closes, is Torrey pines at the lodge, can’t wait to get back up there

You need to stop here. Even if you are not hungry. Fantastic California style burgers.

This is it! Look no further, this is the place for lunch, snack, dinner or anything in between! The burgers are handmade and cooked perfectly! The fries are excellent. Try the shakes, homemade flavor and fresh ingredients – best tip you’ll get all day… peanut butter Oreo Shake!!! Do it!!! And thank me later! Service is with a smile, as it should be. Great job, Floyd’s! Will definitely be back!!!

My son and I stopped there on our way to Reno to buy a truck frame. We live in Crescent City and i will always from now on make the trip off the 5 south to stop and eat at Floyd;‘s. You always take a chance stopping to eat in a town you know nothing about and Floyd’s is awesome, great food, great service, and I’m a car guy so I loved the décor. It is not fast food, it is how I remember growing up mom and pop burger and ice cream stands good feeling and friendly service. I am diabetic so I didn’t eat much of the bun but the flavor was spot on and the double bacon cheese burger was extremely flavor full. My son ate the part of the bun that I didn’t eat because he liked it so much. Thank You Floyd and staff. My son and I own a automotive repair shop in Crescent City and I know what it means to be self employed, and having customer service, look forward to stopping again expanding my tasting of many more of the burgers on your menu and other treats. Thank You, I don’t eat at fast food chain restaurants.

Excellent service! Stayed open late to serve us. Very friendly. Burgers were juicy and tasty. A great slice of Americana! Be sure to stop by if you are in the area.

It is a tradition when we travel that I try to have ice cream for lunch most days. We were in McCloud CA and Floyds was one of two options, the other being the café in McCloud Mercantile Hotel.
We went to the hotel thinking it would be the better choice but after looking at their ice cream flavors, there was nothing special so we headed off to Floyds.
Floyds serves old-​fashioned soft serve ice cream: chocolate, vanilla, a combo swirl.
And, it is delicious, fresh-​tasting, and refreshing. Portions and price were good. We sat outside in a shaded area on a beautiful summer day and enjoyed our combo selections.

Fresh burgers. Excellent fries. Creamy milkshakes. Friendly and quick service. Felt very welcome. Glad we found this little spot on our drive back to Reno.

The logger burger was quite the spectacle! Not only was it delicious — but I was very impressed with the size of the meat. Of all the long meat slabs I’ve seen — this was the longest. Absolutely mouthwatering. As my mouth wrapped around the voluptuous burger, juice squirted into my mouth spraying me with a combination of salty blood and the tangy tender meat.

Absolutely loved this place, anytime I pass through the shasta area I am going ot make this a regular stop. Family owned business and great service. The gentleman who owns the place is very friendly and makes good food. Prices are a little high for being burgers but still ok and you get a lot of food for your money.

McCloud is a really small logging town, and we were worried that nothing would be open on July 4^th weekend. However, it seems like a local burger and frosty place came to the rescue…
They make a pretty decent burger, with a lot of good variations, including ones that will induce a heart attack. Top that with a blackberry frosty and you won’t be hungry for a while. Fries. were pretty meh though.
The atmosphere is of a mom-​and-​pop shop, with friendly people to talk to. I’d take a local shop over McD anytime!

Great service with a smile! Food taste delicious and portions are right. Food is very greasy, it is a fast food joint, so you’ve gotta expect that. All in all a great place to stop for lunch on your way to Reno or where ever your off too. If you live in town As I do you might not want to make it a habit as your heart may not forgive you, lmbao

Great family spot! Enjoyed malts and fries while escaping the heat. Floyd is friendly even on a very busy Sunday when they had been bombarded by extra traffic due to detours.
We will return Mr. Floyd — you even came out and said thanks as we were leaving. Keep up the great work!

Out of the way burger joint. Real burger, not premade pattys, toasted bun, perfect burger in my opinion. PLUS, they serve wine. A glass of red with a hand made, thick juicy burger. Great way to break up a 9 hour drive. Small town décor, place could use a cleaning. But, food is fine.

Fresh burgers and great service. The people are nice as can be and sitting under Mt. Shasta enjoying lunch is pretty much fantastic!

The food here was not only fantastic but the size was huge! We were so full after the jalapeño burger & cheese Styx! Sooo yummy!

The absolute BEST burgers in the area. This is worth your time and money. The service is friendly. The food is hot and fresh. The burgers are handmade patties. We ordered doubles and frosties and were so full we almost skipped the frosties. Almost.

Best burgers I’ve EVER had! My taste buds crave Floyd’s burgers every time I go to Shasta and McCloud! I’ve had burgers all over the world, and none have tasted anywhere as good as these. The Logger burger is my favorite. You would think of it as unappealing, but 2 ‘actually-​well-​cooked’ patties, fresh veggies, and soft buns is the greatest!
The malts are also really tasty! I love this place!
