Pulled in at 4:50p.m on a Friday afternoon and the front office was closed. Made sure to arrive before dark since it was our first visit but no one was available to give us a map or details of the campground. Thank goodness for some kind gentleman who gave us directions of where to go. Had to go to the front office the following morning to get tags and map. The park employee didn’t even ask if we needed or offer any information. The park itself is very beautiful but I think Bogue Chitto State Park in Louisiana is so much nicer if you are looking to hike and ride bikes.

After going to this park I wanted to pack up my stuff and move out of my apartment! This place is nice and it is really cheap to camp out(and cheaper to live in than my apartment… so why am I paying for a cramped little space there when I can live out in the park for less and have fresh air and nice scenery? Well… the only thing missing is a washer and dryer, but its still nice)! The park is very well maintained so I feel good about giving them the $ 4 entrance fee and they are putting it to good use. They have a convention center, hotel, camp grounds, play grounds, swimming pools, etc. I really wish that I had an RV and envied the people that did! The grass was cut, the road trails were nice(Louisiana needs to take some notes – yes, I went there!), and the air was fresh… Amazing. I was disappointed to have to leave and go home.

Husband and I decided to go back to Percy Quinn state park for a quick two night camping trip. I will say, that this place has one heck I a beautiful view. Every time we stay here it gets prettier and prettier. When we pulled up we noticed a burn ban sign, bummer. The hostess behind the counter, to check us in, was super rude. I was shocked to be honest. We have been here about five times and have. Ever had a problem. When we got to our camp site we noticed three huge bags of trash. I called the office to let them know so that they can take care of it. Attitude again. So frustrating. Other than that we had a fabulous trip. The lake is sill closed to fishing but not to water sports. It was fun watching people on their jet skis. We saw about 11 deer on two separate walks. Absolutely stunning. This is a place we continue to come back to due to the beauty. Hopefully the lady with the attitude will be having a better day next time. Lack of star is for the trash and attitude.

Stay here every year for the BikeMS ride. The facilities are always clean and well kept. And the park staff treats us very well. The only knock I have is the«lake.» I think all the water has been drained, so there isn’t a real draw for this place, other than some of the walking paths.

Nice Natural Campground, love the cute little Church Chapel, lake is drained now, but I bet it’s beautiful when it’s full of water. It’s hard to bike ride with little ones due to lots of hills, allowing golf carts would be wonderful! RV sites are pretty nice & shaded.
