The FF has a great casual atmosphere and is conveniently located off Highway 55. My bro G and I sat at the bar and watched baseball on the HDTV while Amanda brought out our fried ‘shrooms app(15 large portobellos), fried shrimp and grilled veggies for me, and the fisherman platter that had fried catfish, fried shrimp, crawfish balls, fried oysters and a baked potato. All of it was very good southern style cooking! And the sweet ice tea was definitely southern style sweet tea! The ice box lemon pie was store bought but still tasty.

Just passing through on my way from New Orleans to the St. Louis area, I saw their sign along the highway and I am SO glad I did! It was a quiet time of the afternoon and I received a warm welcome; in fact I was treated as if I were a long-time patron. I wanted a sandwich and asked what they would recommend and they suggested the Mahi Mahi. It was, without a doubt, the very best Mahi Mahi I have ever had and the first time I had eaten it in a sandwich. It was a very generous serving and cooked to perfection. It was served piping hot with delicious fries. I got my order to go and it proved to be a pleasant challenge to eat while driving because it was so juicy! If you are in the area… GO there to eat. If you are passing through the area, don’t pass«The Flying Fish» …stop in and enjoy! You will not be sorry you did!

We just ate lunch at The Flying Fish and the food was excellent. My husband had the Mahi Mahi Sandwich and it was blackened to perfection and very moist and juicy. He said it was the best fish sandwich he has ever had — even rivaling Molly Goodhead’s out of Fl which says a lot. I had the shrimp and grits and it was delicious and a huge serving. We found this place using Unilocal while traveling from New Orleans to Memphis and we will definitely make sure to come here again on our next trip home.(The restaurant building appears to be new or newly renovated and was very clean — including the bathrooms which was important to us because we were traveling.).

This place is the best! Great food, great drinks, great prices. Everyone is super friendly and they have an awesome fun atmosphere. I ordered fried oysters which were executed perfectly(harder than it sounds people tend to over cook.) They have a badass bar/club area right next door that hosts legit bands and gets pretty rocking on weekends. Best restaurant/bar in the area!
