Just noticed Kari’s review and it is sad that a person could go to Southern Belle Farms and not have a good time! You might want to try Disney World next time.

This place is so wonderful, there aren’t enough ways to describe it! If you have a complaint about this venue, you must have visited at a time when your mind was just not in «fun mode!» The hospitality is wonderful, safety is considered for all activities, the food is like a fall carnival feast, and the memories will last forever! I highly recommend that you make the drive, spend the day… You will never forget the wonderful time you had!

This place is literally awesome the family and people that work here are incredibly friendly. This was our first time and you really get the feel of true Southern hospitality at its finest. I had no idea that there would be so many things to do and make sure you plan for a longer day. I will definitely be returning to the different seasons that they have open to experience more of what they have to offer. This was definitely worth the drive from Atlanta to experience ag-tourism.

Just moved to Atlanta and was looking for a pumpkin patch and this place was amazing. You can pick your own pumpkin from the vine, which is the only way to do it in my opinion, or select from a large amount of pre-picked. The corn mazes, they have 3 at varying difficulties, are extremely fun and even challenging. Unlike most places we looked at this one is open until 9PM and therefore gives you a chance to go through the corn mazes at night, which adds a bit of creepiness! I highly recommend going in the evening, around 5, so you can do stuff during the day and night. We spent around 4 hours here watching pig races, shooting corn, taking a hay ride, finding the perfect pumpkins at sunset, going through the corn mazes at night and just seeing the sights as day turned to night. My fiancé and I are in our 20s so we didn’t do the children activities but there was plenty of them. We drove an hour to get here and it was absolutely worth it. Highly recommended for people of all ages looking for a great Autumn experience! P. S. It was also affordable! $ 14 for everything and only $ 10 for two pumpkins. Only recommendation would be to eat before coming, the food is a bit pricey.

I’m a huge fan of agri-tourism and I was glad to see that Georgia, besides Michigan, is big into this. Unfortunately, my visit just happened to be between seasons. The sign said something about reopening in the fall. I’m not sure what Georgia’s fall crop harvest is but they may import apples from the north and reopen as a cider mill? Somebody let me know. Perhaps, another time SBF.

I had no idea how to choose a berry farm to self-pick(u-pick) at. In the end, I just chose a farm with reasonable Saturday morning hours and reasonable distance from the Tanger Outlets. Google Maps took us down these winding deserted local roads before we approached Southern Belle Farm. The signs took us toward the U-Pick pastures after we entered the farm. We drove through dust flurries and parked in the baking sun(yay for black cars…) It was hot as hell at 11:30 am, I’m not even exaggerating. We failed to wake up early enough to avoid the late morning heat, so we definitely suffered the consequences. There was a small hut that showcased a few pre-picked buckets of fruit and jars of jellies and preserves, but we skipped ahead, grabbed some buckets and rushed to the berries before it could get any hotter(which, of course, it did). Most of the bushes had blackberries. By 11:30, most of the berries had been picked but after some intense and focused searching, we mustered up half a bucket of blackberries. We attempted picking a few strawberries, although there weren’t many fresh strawberries remaining. We finally ended up completely ditching the blueberries, as they were not quite ready for us. Berries are $ 12 a gallon. The way the man in the hut calculated the price for our ¾ full bucket was very interesting… He charged us for half a bucket, with an additional $ 2.50 charge for«overage.» Buckets are $ 1 each, but are optional. We ended up taking the bucket since we left all the Tupperware we planned on bringing at home… A fun little farm to get your berry picking on! We noticed a patch of vegetables, although I’m not sure how pricing works on those. Next time, we’ll need to hit up the kitchen for some fresh ice cream and other munchies!

A hidden gem in McDonough! Had a great time picking strawberries. They are so sweet and yummy! They also had a petting zoo area, sold fresh strawberry ice cream, and had other activities for the kids! You have to buy their bucket to pick but just save them for next time because you know you will be back!

I took my nieces here last week and they loved it. It has a big bounce«pillow,» you pick flowers(very pretty and colorful), a cow train, corn shooters, kernal house, playground with horse swings, hayride, a small petting zoo, pig races, oh my… I enjoyed it myself as the place is large and had many activites for the kids and adults. The price was okay as that we had so many to do. Well for so for kids but I think it should be a little bit cheaper.

This place was awesome! From the bouncing pillows to the pig race, to the maze, to the slide, and then the pumpkin patch we enjoyed them all! The food was delicious too. Great fried catfish, hush puppies and chili were just a few of the things I tasted. Also their kettle corn pop corn and homemade ice cream were wonderful. We were there for 6 hours! Will definitely recommend this place.

I’ve been to a couple U-pick strawberry farms in south Atlanta but this is the best one I’ve been to and will make an effort to return each year!(this is our second year as I write this) The farm is HUGE and the staff is really friendly. There are other options such as blackberries and blueberries when in season.(i think there are also U-pick vegetables as well) They provide a 1 gallon picking bucket for easier measurement, which you can then later empty into your own containers to bring home or you can just purchase their buckets for $ 1.00 and reuse them the following year. TIP: If your are hankering for a snack after a long day of strawberry picking, head on over to the barn to Mimi’s Kitchen and there is a concession stand that serves delish strawberry icecream as well as other snacks. I have yet to visit for any of their fall festivities but many of my friends have gone and enjoyed it so I am very excited to go this year! Great place for families and kids! EDIT: (Early June 2015) The Spring/Summer season had been very busy for me personally so I was concerned that I would miss the strawberry picking season altogether. Luckily, I paid a visit to Southern Belle on the first day of their blackberry season and they still had PLENTY of HUGE strawberries left for it being the end of the strawberry season. Staff, as always, is super friendly and helpful. There are many other U-pick farms around Georgia, but I keep coming back and recommending Southern Belle to my friends and family.

Needs seeds? Come on in. Need plants? Come on in. Need plants or seeds that are native to Georgia? Come on in. Need to know what to do with all these plants and seeds? Come on in. Need a green thumb? Well you may be on your own on that one. But pretty much this place can help you with all of your gardening concerns or issues. The staff is nice and friendly and knowledgeable as well.

What a hidden gem!!! This is a family owned farm that offers good ‘ol family fun. The staff was VERY friendly. They always went out of their way to ask how we were doing and to chit chat. Never forced conversation. The owner was also out and about meeting his guests! The food was great(yummy!) — fried pickles, beef brisket, curly fries… The picnic tables are set up in a barn, and offer TVs to catch the latest football scores :-) My kids LOVED the hay ride, cow train, pillow bounce, petting the goats, roosters, and cow. My 4.5 year old love operating the water pumps(it’s a maze) and shooting the corn cannon. The pig races were fun too! The corn maze was very impressive. There are three levels with plenty of clues to help you on your way. The paths are wide as well. Keep up the great work Southern Belle Farms!
