This place gets awful reviews but I come here all the time and love it! Can’t explain it but the fajitas keep me coming back and they have this guitar player named Josh williams who is frigging awesome! Hope they keep him there!!!

I dont see how everyone else got great service but i didnt get my silverware until 5 minutes after we got our meal everything was slow but the waitress was nice. The chicken birrito i ate was not good. The chicken in it was so dry i could barely swallow it literally.

After several bad experiences there, I thought I would be fair and give Sticky Cactus on last try. Actually had to walk out after first basket of chips were sent back as stale and second basket was soggy and unbreakable. Seriously. I’m done with Sticky Cactus.

This is my second review of Sticky Cactus, this is 7 months later than my last one. The food and service remain excellent. Just don’t understand the bad reviews, some people aren’t happy about anything. We have never had a problem, not the first one. We go there at least once every two or three weeks. The place is always clean, the nachos and salsa are delicious, the food and drinks are great and the service is first rate.

First time visit. Have been reluctant to try Sticky Cactus due to bad reviews on Unilocal and by friends and neighbors in the community. Thanks to some recent reviews and new management, I decided to give it a shot. Very upbeat, friendly and fun. They had karaōke so that was a plus. My girls love to sing! Appeared very clean and the staff was awesome. The chips and salsa were awesome! The chips were light and crispy and not greasy at all! I had Tacos de Asada and the Girls had Steak nachos. I love that they grill the tortillas just a bit so they have that delicious hint of a crust. The steak was a bit tough, but it was late and I didn’t think to order it cooked a specific way and the server didn’t ask if I had a preference. Being from Louisiana, of course I LOVED the grits. Very unique and tons of flavor. The girls devoured the nachos so I would assume they were great. All in all… not the best Mex I’ve ever had, but I will be back to try something else. And its much better than the other Mex restaurants that are close.

Update– I’ve been back twice in the last month and things have definitely turned around at this place. Mainly the food quality which is leaps above my previous experience, perhaps this is because of new ownership. I’ve had the chimichanga & burrito mexicana and both we pretty good. We went on wing night and tried a 10 piece mix of lemon pepper & medium. Wow, the wings are really good here! although smaller than most places sometimes I actually prefer that. The medium wings didn’t have much sauce flavor at all but for me that’s to be expected since I typically get mine on the hot + scale. The chips and salsa are very good as well. i think they may have gotten a regular visitation back from me at this point. I would say give it a shot or another shot if you haven’t been here in the past year or so! I’m only going to up 1 star from my previous rating for now, but if they continue to impress with other dishes I’m going to give them another one

Great service! This is my favorite Mexican restaurant! If you haven’t eaten here in a few years try it again! The current manager has completely turned this place around! Try the steak, It was great! The chips, salsa and cheese dip are the best I’ve had.

I don’t understand the overly negative reviews for this place. It’s one of the downsides to user reviewed places; you’ll always have the negative people who nitpick everything. I found the food to be good, taste fresh and portions to be reasonable for the price. Service was good and friendly. I enjoyed the chips. My only constructive criticism would be to suggest more seasoning in the dishes. Even adding a touch of salt to our salsa helped.

It’s not a real bad place to eat some mex grub. Chips are pretty good. The grits are 5 stars. They have a pretty good crowd at night. The food is about average. Nothing really stands out, but nothing I ate there has ever been bad either. Get ya some!

This isn’t amazing Mexican food, but it’s good. It isn’t pricey and the staff is friendly. We come here frequently for family dinner. Not sure why some of the other reviews were so bad. Trivia night is fun. And we’ve never had an issue with the food or the service. Maybe the reviewers are the ones with the issue(s)?

Went on a monday to try the .49 wings. Good wings what you would expect from any bar type place. The salsa is not the best. A little watery and no cilantro. Mexican prices are a little pricey compared to other surrounding places. However I would definetly go again for the .49 wings.

I just lost an hour of my life to terrible service at Sticky Cactus in McDonough, GA. Waiter brings the non-alcoholic drinks and goes back to get the beer. 5 minutes later, he is playing with the hostess behind the hostess stand. I had to get his attention to go and get my beer. 25 minutes later, the waiter came over to tell me that the kitchen was out if what I ordered. Cancelled the order and left. I have had more poor experiences there than good. It’s convenient, but I won’t be going back. The only good was that the manager comped three soft drinks and a beer.

Don’t worry — you will be happy! Awesome specials for both drinks and food plus try Miller’s Special! Super fresh with several varieties or have it with shrimp, chicken and steak! Awesome service with Tracy at the bar and Kayla as our server! A+++ in addition, Gus is back in Henry County and helping get this restaurant on the map so I am praying some fabulous other Azteca Grill recipes follow– Presidente Shrimp PLEASE! We encourage you to dine here for great food, awesome service and very good prices! We hope the owner continues to educate himself as he told our server the chips were flour when we requested flour chips then came by to state they are corn and they don’t have flour chips. My hope is his business continues to thrive and if he continues to employ great staff this fabulous Ola establishment will succeed!

Glad I have given this place another try. Been back several times after my original stop. They really have done an about face and things are pretty darn good there now. Not the best Mexican I have ever had mind you, but pretty darn good. Glad to see them turn things around from my first visit!

We were so excited to see this restaurant open after we’d been forced to drive across town for our Mexican fix; however, this restaurant is horrible, and I would gladly drive across town to avoid wasting my money here. **Please note I’ve waited months to write a review hoping they’d work out their«kinks,» but it’s just not so. Every time we go the staff is just«off.» They are flustered, untrained and inexperienced — I feel like everything takes so much longer than it should because they are all so distracted talking to each other. The food is not good for the price; although, I will give them props on their chips and salsa. The chips are the crispy thin chips, always served warm, and the salsa has improved tremendously since they opened. The last time we went, we decided to give them a third chance. When we arrived, they were not busy. It was a nice day, so we chose to sit on the patio. We sat… and sat… and sat. Chips and salsa were brought out, but no server came. We waited 20 minutes, and no one came to take a drink order. We got up and left and took our business to Toribios, which isn’t much better food-wise, but it’s better than Sticky Cactus. Maybe this place works as a place to drink and eat chips/salsa at the bar. They have some pretty fun live music, and the bar staff seems attentive enough(I sat there once to pick up a to-go order and he gave me a free diet coke). Overall, I would just say skip this place all together. I am SOHAPPY that Padres finally opened by Publix. Just keep driving toward town about a mile and get your money’s worth there.

Not a bad little place to eat… We have been here a few times with our family and have never seen it really busy. I’ll agree with the other reviewers about the menu being small compared to other Mexican joints, but that doesn’t mean it’s limited. We have always found something good to eat. The menu is not so limited that we wish we had gone to eat somewhere else. After all, its Mexican food, how many different variations do you really need? Most of these places can be judged by the salsa. Sticky Cactus salsa is some of the best. Great flavor. I think I have eaten about 459 bowls total. Yea, 459. I gets down like that. Never had bad service or an experience. This isn’t one of those places where you leave saying«Holy crap that place was so amazing!» but it certainly is not bad either. One of the main reasons we like this spot is because it is off the main path, so while everyone waits 5 days for a table at La Parilla and eats in an atmosphere loud enough to be confused with a Korn concert, we are in and out with full bellies.

Seems more like a drinking establishment than a mexican restaurant. It was dissappointing. I had the fajita salad and the bf had the steak fajitas. He really liked their salsa so the waitress brought him out a big bowl of it. I agree with the other two reviewers that the menu is very limited.
