Found them on angies list for one of the promos for a deck refinishing. the price was unbeatable and it was easy communication since day one. Very happy with the service they provided; trustworthy, kind people. Will for sure be calling on these folks for more work down the line! very happy i found them.

After two years of trying the DIY approach with our deck stain only to see it succumb to the flaking effects of the spring thaw, my wife and I decided to go with the pros this year. After meeting with a few contractors and getting quotes, we selected G.R. General Contractors because they seemed the most knowledgeable, described the most thorough approach, and were competitively priced. Best of all, after we agreed on the price, they didn’t rush the job or take any shortcuts, but in four separate visits did a power washing, stripping, and sanding before, completely removing all the dead wood fibers that had caused our previous stains to chip and disintegrate. Only then did they apply two coats of Behr Premium stain on the final two visits. They were extremely careful and precise, protecting the exterior wall of our home with tape, as they applied two very even coats. We are extremely pleased with the results and, more importantly, look forward to seeing the deck in relatively the same condition when our Chicagoland snows melt some time by mid April next year. These guys were extremely professional, thorough, knowledgeable and friendly. I’d recommend them to anyone for such home contracting needs. Great job, guys!
