Our soccer club takes a yearly trip down to Deep Creek for a weekend of golf, and I never really cared about the game the first 4 years… until the first time I played at Lodestone last year. After that round, I decided that I’d actually start golfing«seriously.» The course is beautiful, with all the amenities you can imagine. The practice tee is massive and having a nice driving range to practice/warmup before a round is something my inexperienced golfer self hadn’t experienced before. With a courteous staff, well-manicured course that’s a little forgiving through the first 9, and tightens up through the back 9, and wonderful views from atop the mountain, there’s no wonder that the first time I played there I thought to myself, «okay…NOW I see the appeal of this game,» as I sat on the cart waiting for my turn to tee off. Overall, it’s a pricy course($ 83 for twilight), but it’s worth every penny compared to some of the other courses we’ve played in the area.
