$ 7 for a newer movie on a Saturday night? Yes please! Parking is a little iffy(some parallel spots are 15 min spots, say what?) so I just followed everyone else’s lead and parked in neighboring businesses lots, hope that’s ok? Great little theater in downtown mchenry, I will def be back!

I am a sucker for the small independent theaters. They have a nostalgic style of there own. No need for all the frills and fancy facades. Small staff, low budget, yet they are there when you need something so don’t be afraid to ask. The night I went It was cold in the theater area, so it was jacket and gloves all the way. The price is right.

The very antithesis of the big shiny movie multiplex. Old pictures of classic movie stars in the lobby, slightly shabby looking retro type décor and just two screens give an intimate feel. Great place but felt weird at first like I had traveled back in time and was a kid at the movies again. The price was unbeatable, $ 6 for a first run movie. Parking was not a problem as we went on Thanksgiving. There is on street parking and a lot nearby. The usher stood up in front of the audience before the movie began and asked a few movie trivia questions, a swift correct answer earned a free pass. Nice touch.

If you want cheap – go here. But if you want to be able to see the floor and see the screen – go somewhere else. It is old and they have renovated it, but they needed to do more. There is no stadium seating and it is sooo dark in there you cannot see a thing. If you want a cheaper price and good for the money, go to Fox Lake Cinemas.
