Either you are going here because you are a straight up alcoholic or just want to experience a no bullshit place. I don’t drink first off, and going here was an accident, but the people who run it are characters. The food is shockingly inventive. But make no mistake its a dive and its probably for white people only. But if you can let your guard down and just accept it, talk to the locals and bartenders its a funny experience. Its the no BS bar, with very little douchebaggery. (Edit) if you are with some high maintenance girl leave her in your Mercedes.

This place is difficult to review. Went there on a Friday evening. The dining room was EMPTY, the place looked like it went out of style in the 70s. We sat down at a table by the bar. Tried to order their stuffed mushrooms, but they were out. The waitress then went through a list of like 20 things on the menu that they were out of. The place is a bar, but they didn’t have anything on tap. Beer selection was very minimal. We ordered crab cakes, I ordered a ribeye, and my date ordered pasta. Crab cakes came, and WOW, they were good. They brought out bread, it was hot and soft, and quite good. Soup Came, it was magnificent! French Onion soup, made perfectly. Dinner came, my steak was marvelous. I had ordered medium rare, and they gave me a PERFECT medium rare ribeye. It was very very tasty, and marbling was very good. My girlfriend loved the pasta, it was a platter with a bug chunk of lasagna, some meatballs, and a pile of mostaccioli. The lasagna was delicious, loaded with cheese and meat. The mostaccioli was good. So, this one’s difficult. The food is out of this world good, probably the tastiest in town. The service was decently good But this place is so out of date that they can’t seem to attract customers, and without many customers, they don’t seem able to keep too much food stuffs in stock, so they wind up only able to make half of their menu… The cook/chef here has what it takes to be 5 stars, but I give them 3 due to these drawbacks. I will go back there again.
