I’ve always liked the Warsaw Inn. Yes, liked as in past tense. The Warsaw has closed now and I realized I never wrote a review for it. It was probably the only place out this far that one could get decent Polish food and buffet style at that. It was always affordable too and you never left hungry. I especially liked the pierogi and saurkraut. Alas Warsaw, we’ll miss you.

OOOOOOOH the polish food! It’s so good! Potato dumplings, breaded fried pork patties, 3 diff kinds of pierogi, 3 diff kinds of blintzes, roast beef that’s nice and medium rare and tender, ham, roast duck, fried chicken, mashed potatoes, stuffed cabbage, sauerkraut, a full salad bar, fruits, dessert bar with ice cream machine, two soups, fresh baked bread, I can’t even think of the rest. It’s a pretty good price too. I can’t recall the exact amount but three adults ate for $ 50. Maybe that’s a little on the pricey side but you leave SOSTUFFED and so happy! It’s good homemade polish food! The wait staff has been friendly both times I’ve been there. The buffet has been stacked to the gills, with the exception of the pork patties the last time which they ran out of. They filled them up in about 10 or 15 mins and they were piping hot. The bathrooms are all right as well. There’s a separate room for parties which looks nice. One other really nice thing was that the hostess offered to seat us close to the buffet since we were with my bf’s grandma who walks with a cane. So they’re nice and accomodating. Check it out if you’re looking for good Polish food and a nice relaxing meal!

Let me begin by saying that I don’t particularly like buffets, regardless of the ethnicity of their food. The main problem for me is that at a buffet, I seem to feel that all of the main dishes ought to be sampled. I end up over-eating and feel like most people feel after Thanksgiving dinner. The other problem is that the food is prepared in vast amounts and kept warm for periods of time that are longer than should be. The taste and quality suffers. The service at the Warsaw Inn is very good. The food itself I give a three-star rating, though a friend of mine thinks it is better than that. Maybe it depends on what one chooses to eat. Most of the times that I have been there, it has been as the location of an annual party of an organization that I belong to. This party is held on a Saturday evening, and roast duck is part of the buffet. I love roast duck and have had it at many places around the U.S. The Warsaw Inn falls in the middle of the best and worst. Last time, the duck was over-done and rather dried out. On previous occasions it had been better. The pierogi, while swimming in butter, aren’t too bad, but the butter is overwhelming. I think the next time I go there, I’ll concentrate on the more ethnically Polish entrees like cabbage rolls, etc. I will say, however that the food quality on occasions other than the annual party, is about the same. As I said, the food is strictly three-star, but the prices are reasonable and the service is very good, so I’ll up my rating by one star

The fiancé and I didn’t realize that this place was buffet only — I know, funny, considering it is called the Warsaw Inn Buffet. Though we are both from Crystal Lake neither of us had ever been here. My recommendation to all of you potential visitors — stick to the traditional, ethnic dishes. I think this place would do well to ditch all of their non-Polish fare and really concentrate on those offerings. Dishes like the stuffed cabbage, cheese blintzes, and potato dumplings will have us making a return visit — though not before the wedding, as I have to make sure I can still fit into that very expensive dress!

I’ve always liked this place. I enjoy the cheese pierogis, apple blintzes, fish, chicken, salad, fresh fruit, vegetables and pastries. I personally know some people who don’t like this place(they say it makes them gassy). I don’t know, I guess I am lucky that I am just not a gassy person. I’ve always enjoyed a meal here. The best time to go(meaning price-wise) is lunch during the week. Come dinner and the weekend, I think it is a little pricey, especially if you order drinks.

Pretty bland food. I know its a buffet and its cheap but still I have had excellent Polish food in the city and there is no excuse for bad food other than lazyness. Charge more and serve good food. GO to Staropolska in the city on Milwaukee. Excellent food and still quite cheap.

To anyone paying attention, I love the concept of the buffet. Sadly the execution of many buffets are sorely lacking. This particular buffet on the other hand delivered the goods pretty close to the mark. Now admittedly, I’m not the worlds foremost connoisseur in Polish food, but I really liked the food here. The roast beef was some of the better carving station beef I’ve ever had. The stuffed cabbage was absolutely great, the beef stew was ordinary, loved the fried chicken, fish and shrimp. I wasn’t a huge fan of the meat filling in the blintzes, but the beef pierogi was great. Really, all I was looking for was for there to be more stuff that I like as opposed to stuff I didn’t. Judging by that criteria, I have to give this place a positive review.

This place is gross. Food is just blah. Don’t waste your money.

Excellent Polish Buffett! Décor is a little bit dated but the food immediately makes up for it. Sevice is pleasant and efficient but not overboard. About what you would expect at a buffet line. Prices were not at all out of line.

Very good stuff here. They claim to have lowered their prices a bit, which is nice. The lunch is not a bad deal at $ 6.95 for adults considering there are so many items on the buffet(I think the waitress said 80+) I like the little dessert pastries too!
