Burger Central

Total ripoff! I have attempted to contact management numerous times to make a legitimate complaint about my food but no one will get back to me. You’re better off eating elsewhere for a fraction of their prices here.

Great burgers but the location is in a Chevron gas station. Also, it’s inconvenient that they don’t have a phone number listed so you can’t call in orders.

Again, I am commenting on the employee’s and the service I did not receive. My computer has been down or I would have posted sooner. Labor Day week-​end… big BBQ week-​end, I could not purchase propane at this station… as the manager did not schedule enough employees to be on duty, so there was no one available to fill propane. What has happened to the few cheerful employees? The ones with a smile and a «thank you»? The Big Guy{manager} only has a sneer and a sigh… I for one will not be spending my money at this Chevron Station until I become aware that the «Big Guy «no longer works there, and the rest of the staff on the registers gets rid of the visible attitude, and can give a customer a kind greeting, a smile, a sincere Thank You! There is one station employee that stands out as a good employee, that I have observed, she is pleasant, helpful, efficient, Ashley is her name. I spent many years in the public service industry so I know what type of employee it takes to make a business run efficiently and pleasantly. Ken and Jon are not that type of employee. In a gas station doesn’t mean bad but it’s not good. Okay burger. I didn’t really like mine but my boyfriend said his was okay. Fries were undercooked. My bread was soggy. They ask you how you want it cooked but the parties are to thin so everything is well done. I would not go again.

This place is totally overpriced and overrated. I was looking forward to my burger based on the good reviews, but when I got it, I was disappointed. They use free range, all natural beef, but they’re wasting their money because the burger was so overcooked that you couldn’t appreciate the quality of the meat. It was dry, hard, and chewy. Yuck. I paid quite a bit more to have avocado and grilled onions on my burger, but I shouldn’t have because there was just a tiny little piece of avocado on it that I couldn’t even taste. The onions were not grilled long enough to bring out that yummy grilled onion flavor. The bun was delicious and the lettuce was crisp, but besides that I was incredibly disappointed. I could have gotten a better tasting burger for a couple bucks at a fast food joint.

The standard grass fed beef, good bun and toppings. Combo come with a baby-​sized drink with no refills. I don’t understand that when its also the standard $ 20 bill for lunch, but at a gas station.
That being said, it’s pretty good for having to eat while watching people buy candy and pump fuel.

Hit and miss. Today was terrible. Unpeeled onion and tough beef. Other visits have been great. I really like the grilled buns.

For McKinleyville, I was pleasantly surprised by this burger. For 8 $ I was extremely satisfied and full. The buns were amazing and the meat was fresh. I would recommend this place and I will be going back.
It’s been hard to find a decent burger place in the Humboldt county that is relatively cheap. I wasn’t expecting to find this good of a burger in a chevron has station… But they def changed my mind and I will be going back! Very tasty!

I read about this burger place and was a bit intrigued. Being in a gas station I wouldn’t go on a date here but since I was in town on business I thought it was perfect for grabbing some good food (if that was really the case). Well Burger Central didn’t disappoint. The burger was wonderful, tasty and oh so messy. The fries were perfect. Not those starchy, tasteless fries that so many places serve these days. I was so happy with the burger that I stopped for lunch the next day on my way out of town. I know that I’ll be back soon to enjoy another on the menu.

This place is a great find and worth trying.
I got the jalapeño veggie burger ($ 6.50) and my friend got The Works with a meal (fries and a small soda). Our burgers were pretty delicious (but also priced accordingly — this is not a fast food burger in terms of quality or pricing.)
Downsides were the fries that came with the meal was a small portion and were just lukewarm — which was a bummer! And our meal took 15mins to get to us — which I didn’t mind, just be forewarned this is not a quick stop.

I never thought I would be reviewing a burger joint inside a Chevron, but wow! If you’re a foodie, you NEED to visit here. Their fries are great and their burgers are AMAZING. Fresh ingredients and made to order with lots of love. Can’t ask for anything more. Seriously, go now!

Burger Central makes a really good hamburger. It is inside the Chevron station which also houses Aztec Grill and Sutters Mudd Coffee. If I am in McKinleyville and want a hamburger I will definitely go back here. The place is new and clean and staff were efficient. This is really the only place to get a good hamburger in McKinleyville. It was made with Humboldt Grassfed Beef with fresh, tomato, onion, pickle and lettuce. I ordered mine well done. I also ordered garlic fries and they were great… lots of fresh garlic on those… different but good.

3 STARS!!! FUCK THAT! THIS PLACE IS FUCKING DOPE!!! McKinleyvilles best kept secret FOR REAL! That first guy isnt smoking enough weed! Hes got no fucking clue what hes talking about!!! Seriously one of the best burgers in humboldt county I had my doubts when I walked in (its in a fucking gas station) BUT DUDE this place is LEGIT. It shares a space with the notoriously underrated Aztec Grill and at first glance looks like any other shitty gas station fast food joint BUT DO NOT BE FOOLED! This place is no ampm! The staff here is NICE they fucking serve you your food! hell yes. I ordered a burger and garlic fries and had a seat by the window. Ill admit that It did take a little while for them to get me my burger but after glancing around at other peoples plates I could tell that this was going to be worth the wait! When my burger finally came it was fucking beautiful I should have taken a picture man Im not kidding. Fresh crisp veggies, tender juicy beef, and one of THE BEST BUNS I HAVE EVER HAD! I devoured this thing BUT THATS NOT ALL They have HANDS DOWN THE BEST GARLIC FRIES! Im talking TONS of fresh garlic piled on top of some golden crispy slices of heaven my friend! FUCK MIKES FAMOUS GARLIC FRIES (seriously have you had those? those have gotta be the biggest joke in humboldt county) I was taken aback by this place a true hidden gem!!! I went in expecting very little and came out needing to take a nap! Thats my kind of burger!!! Price wise the place isnt a steal but not as over priced as say surfside burger and again the atmosphere is a fucking gas station but its all worth it man. seriously. GO GET YOUR BURGER ON BRO!!!

I was so looking forward to having a new quick burger spot here in McKinleyville. Well was I ever disappointed. I thought when I ordered for the first and only time this is going to be good. They asked me how I wanted my burger cooked and I stated I wanted it «medium-​rare» so I am thinking handmade patties. After approx. 15 minutes of waiting for my mushroom swiss burger I got a very messy looking burger made with a frozen patty that you can get and the canned food store and cooked well done. The bun was very cold (like just came out of the fridge cold) and falling apart, tons and I mean TONS of lettuce enough for a salad and an old tomato. The mushrooms were sparse and in need of flavor and all clumped together. The whole thing tasted very cheap and kinda stale.
Needless to say I have had better burgers with higher quality ingredients and costing much less at Mickie Dee’s.
I won’t be going back. What a Bummer.
