So I just called this place to ask if they carried an item and I was told that no we don’t bother with stuff like that we only do high end. Maybe you need to direct yourself elsewhere. WOW! The stuck up attitude comes through the phone as well. Won’t even bother going to shop here.

I’ve made jewelry for 20 years so naturally I was excited to see a bead shop come to McKinney! Unfortunately my two visits were dissapointing. On the first visit, Facets was empty but the person working never said a word to me. I don’t like to be hounded but being acknowledged is the least a business can do for their walk-in possible customer. During the second visit I looked around at the well-presented selection and –there was 1 customer at the counter but again I was never greeted or acknowledged. Eh, since I believe sales start with a «hi» I won’t be a customer.

First, the address posted is inaccurate. I visited looking for quality materials, and while I found them, they were priced much higher than I expected. The person in the shop seemed to have an attitude that she really didn’t want to bother with a «beginner» and I was looking for something that would make me feel more«included». So I bailed. Three stars only because they have nice stuff, but I won’t go back.

Finally actually went into Facets today and it’s not what I thought it was at all. I thought it was higher end jewelry and would be beyond the reach of my pocket boot. No! What they do is so neat! They have walls of temporarily strung beads ranging from $ 3 a strand to over $ 100, but most of the strands were under $ 20. You pick a strand or strands that you like and then they put a clasp on it for $ 5. Or, you can have the strand(s) restrung to make a matching necklace/bracelet set. You can also mix the beads from different strands. Very neat idea. They do have some pre-made arrangements that are very pretty and they have a courtyard in the back that one of the artists said would be open to the public sometime this fall.
