These folks are a gem. Especially at Christmas, but get there early for an idea on decorations that no one else in north Texas seems to have!

Absolutely the best service you will find. There are nice old guys standing at the front waiting to assist you. They have a great selection and a lot of things you won’t find at the big box stores. They’ve got the greatest selection of nuts/bolts you will find. Don’t even both with those big box stores for that stuff. There’s free popcorn in the back too. Very old school kind of place.

I needed spare keys for my Chevy Cavalier(no Chip). I went to Walmart and then to Lowe’s to get them cut. Both had the blanks and cut them well, but the key only worked in the door lock. The ignition was sticky and wouldn’t turn without a LOT of jiggling. My Dad suggested I try Groom and Son’s hardware in McKinney. I did, and the gentleman there assured me it would work perfectly or bring them back and he would make adjustments to them until they did work. He looked up the key to assure the correct blank, made a difference, and then expertly cut my keys. Both work fabulously! I can’t be happier. No more sticky keys… Groom’s has that personal service lost by the big chain stores. If they don’t have it they can get it.

When the big boxes don’t have it they will(or will help you find it) at Groom & Son’s. I go here when I need help and expertise along with a decent price.

This is the place to go for hardware. They have plenty of knowledgable people on the floor to help customers, and they always have what I need.
