When it comes to making a good expression, little speaks as loudly as the understated whisper and simple elegance of a letterpress card or handwritten note. Missing Q Press is a letterpress studio that offers exquisite paper products, many of them hand printed on one of several vintage letterpresses in the studio portion of the shop in McKinney’s historic downtown. This is THE place for anniversary, birthday, bridal, graduation, holiday and other special event invitations, not to mention personal stationery. Before it moved to McKinney in 2013, Missing Q was located in Dallas where it was nominated Best of Big D Magazine for Best Stationers in Dallas.
Missing Q earns high marks from me for its sharp eye and attention to detail. Sure, its custom-​design finishing processes (e.g. die-​cuts, sewn-​edge bindery, string and button embellishments, eyelets) are exceptionally fine but it’s the custom rubber stamps, letterpress calendars and extensive offering of delightful cards– I’m talkin’ seriously artful, clever and playful– that keep me returning to the store for my correspondence supplies.
