Wild Brush Studio

The Wild Brush Studio is so great! I have had 2 parties there and loved them. Leslie gives painting instruction with a dose of humor. Everyone can choose what they want to paint, no group class painting the exact same thing. Books of designs to choose from and teachers to assist in the tricky parts. The location is wonderful too, dinner before or after class is a snap and the studio itself is eclectic and set-​up well. Looking forward to my next painting party!!!

This is our absolutely favorite place to paint and have a relaxing evening! It is unique in the fact that you can paint anything you want, not the same thing that everyone else does! We have actually learned techniques and the teachers are so helpful and fun! I highly recommend this for a date night, girls night out or for a party!

Always a great time at Wild Brush! Whether a girl’s night out, or some family fun, I have not been disappointed. Perfect idea to take my mom while she was in town. Very personable and helpful. You can leave with a painting to be proud of, regardless of talent level.

I can’t say enough great things about this local studio in downtown McKinney! Myself and a group of friends bought the Groupon & planned a girls night out. Leslie, the owner, was just amazing. The sweetest lady and so laid back. We got to pick what we painted and she was there to provide as much assistance as we wanted/​needed. It’s BYOB and just the best place! If you’re wanting to go to this type of place, I highly suggest Wild Brush over any of the ‘chain’ places that are similar. I’ve been to those before and hands down Wild Brush was the best.

Every time I have gone had been fantastic. The help and encouragement make me feel like I could do anything.

LOVED my time at Wild Brush. It was my first time. I will be more prepared for my next visit. And this just means I will have a picture picked out prior to me coming. :)

I have been recommending you to a lot of my friends — your concept of painting a picture is better than other painting places where everyone has to paint the same thing.

We love this place! Fun and relaxed atmosphere, but most importantly, every person gets to choose their picture. None of that «coming home with multiple versions of the same picture» nonsense. We have been twice and are going again. I am working on a collection of sea turtle paintings, while my husband embraces his love of graphic novels. Can’t wait to add that 3^rd turtle to the collection!

My boyfriend & I came hare for a fun date night, since he loves art it was perfect. The instructors were extremely sweet and helpful, I love the fact that we could to chose our own painting. And get creative with it. This place gives a real homey relaxed feel we will definitely come back!

I just had a great night here with my motherinlaw! The teachers were so helpful (we really loved frank :)) and they let you paint whatever you want. It was a very laid back atmosphere in a great location downtown McKinney. We will be back!

What an awesome place to spend finding your inner artist! The Leslies and Frank are all fantastic.
I love the fact that I can choose my own painting.

WOO HOO! What a blast!!!
I love this place and can’t wait to come back. Came here last night with the awesome ladies from our Meetup group (about 15 of us) and met the awesome ladies at Wild Brush. Everyone had a wonderful time and what a fine group of artists we are!
This is such a great idea for birthdays, girls night outs, date nights… or any reason at all. Small groups or large. Great place for kids birthday parties, but with adults you can bring your own wine, beer, snacks and your fabulous selves to paint, listen to music, and have a lot of laughs. They supply everything else– paint, brushes, canvas, etc.
I’ve been to Painting with a Twist before, (which I really liked too) but what I love more about Wild Brush Studio is each person can pick their own picture to paint (or bring their own), instead of the whole group painting the same thing. Prices are also so reasonable for such a fun night out.
The shop is located in funky, artsy downtown McKinney. Looks like an old Western Texas town with a hip twist of many great bars, shops and restaurants. One of my new friends is also from my homeland (New York) and to those who’d know, we agreed this is the Texas version of Nyack.
Leslie and the instructors are fun, very helpful with technique /​color, and great teachers who bring out the artist in everyone– whether you’re a professional artist or never drew a stick figure. Everyone’s paintings came out beautiful!
We also looked really cute in our paint splattered aprons :)
I do have one negative thing to say, and have edited my review to reflect this: I came here a second time with my Meetup group. Our reservation was full, and I wanted to bring one more person. I called and left several messages asking if they were able to accomodate one more, and no one ever got back to me. I could totally understand if they were fully booked, but c’mon! — at least return your phone calls to let me know whether or not. Having calls unreturned from a business like this is pretty bad in my book, and I hope the owners read what I’ve written here and improve on this. It’s a really great place otherwise.

I can’t wait to do this AGAIN! We had a girls night and this place was a blast. Finally, something to do with friends that doesn’t only involve sitting at a bar. And BONUS, it’s BYOB!!! Leslie and Leslie (yes, there are two) were so nice and funny. Our paintingscame out great, and two of us had never painted before. Next time we are bringing our husbands. What a blast. And the best part is that you can choose to paint one of their pictures, or you can bring your own. What a great concept. I would recommend this place to anyone. I have already told all my friends!

Found a LivingSocial offer for Wild Brush and my girlfriends and I were excited to try out a BYOB painting girls night. The instructors were very laid back and very encouraging and sweet. We all liked the fact that we could choose our own designs instead of all painting the same thing. And of course, BYOB always helps :-). Had a fabulous time painting, listening to music, drinking wine and mingling. Highly recommend!!!

I convinced my boyfriend to come with me and we had such a great time! The Leslie’s were both so sweet, funny and helpful. I learned a lot and had a great time. I will definitely go back and recommend it to all of my friends!

My husband & I decided to do something different on a Friday night… why not paint? I mean, neither of us had painted before, but it sounded cool. We had a blast! So much fun, yet so relaxing too. They supply EVERYTHING (except, of course the wine/beer…that is up to you to bring). They give you just the right amount of instruction and guidance yet still give you space to create your own masterpiece… okay, not everyone will create a masterpiece, but it’s worth a shot. Thank you Leslie for a wonderful evening… we will be back!
