Where do I start? My wife and I went to see Chris when we were at the verge of separation. It wasn’t that we didn’t love each other, but there was a missing element neither of us could put our finger on. Each of us felt we were not fulfilled or not receiving what we expected from our many years of marriage. With the kids now grown up we knew it was time we fixed it or went our separate ways.
Our first visit was remarkable. Chris quickly ascertained our personality types and soon began to describe the ways in which we interacted not only with each other, but with others too. He said we all fit into basic personality types that required different approaches. He described this personality model as the Enneagram.
It was uncanny how this understanding of how each of us deals with the world suddenly made us much better human beings. The Enneagram helped us understand our underlying conscious and unconscious motivations, reactions, and attitudes which drive us. It also describes how the various types interact with each other and exposes the patterns we tend to fall into when one type meets another.
This understanding has truly enriched our lives with each other as well as helped us to understand and get along with everyone. It’s funny, now when my wife and I meet someone we often look at each other and point out the various numeric types we believe that person best fits. «He’s a two with a three wing.» Once you understand these patterns we tend to fall into it becomes easier to catch yourself before falling into old often negative behaviors.
The Enneagram also helps you see the positive aspects of every type. It is very empowering when you learn to navigate this mine field of human essence. We have learned to recognize each other’s needs and driving forces allowing us to nurture those things we once ignored or were simply unaware of.
The way Chris applied his laser focus to the core of our beings was truly masterful. No time was ever wasted fumbling around; with Chris we went straight to the heart of the issues and he gave us the tools to deal with them. We will be forever grateful for the day we pulled up Chris’ website and made that call. BTW, Chris is a very warm and easy going person. He is very easy to talk to and this I think is important. You have to put it out on the table to deal with it. We highly recommend Chris to anyone, even if you are not having marriage trouble. His tools are invaluable for life in general. Thank you Chris.

I went in there with my wife for help. That’s it we are paying for help. Instead I got 2 sessions (not cheap btw) of enniagrams, a numerology system of personality. It ended with him saying since our enniagrams are different we cannot change that and would be better off with someone with a different number. Not once in our two sessions did he offer any possible solutions other than enniagrams. At the end of the second 350 dollar two hour session it all boiled down when he said I should consult a psychic for a «quick fix». I encourage couples who are in desperate need of help to look elsewhere. We are now seeing john goll lmft in Herndon who has a more practical realistic approach.
