I’ve been wanting to try Eddie V’s for quit some time now…& last night my hunnie surprised me with a date night. The restaurant is really nice! With a live jazz band performing a variety of musical selections. I enjoyed the band as well as the atmosphere. First I thought we needed to be a little more dressier than we were, but nope! Very comfortable and relaxed we were. When my hunnie shared where he was taking me, I logged on and made reservations for us… when we arrived we were greeted with a smile and were seated right away. I did think it was restaurant week, but unfortunately Eddie V’s wasn’t participating in that deal & so we still decided to have dinner. I ordered the fillet medallions topped with crab and asparagus & my hunnie enjoyed the 8oz fillet. We shared a side of Mac & cheese and crab fried rice. My hunnie also ordered an appetizer and everything was great! The banana foster cake is also a must have!!! Omg! It was like a taste of heaven in my mouth! Whether you’re celebrating a birthday or just an intimate date night, You can’t go wrong opting for Eddie V’s!

Overall a great lunch experience at Eddie V. Ahi tuna was an excellent dish. Fresh, nicely plated and tasted perfect. Burger was solid with high quality tasting beef. Skip the chicken salad… flavor was all over the place. I couldn’t pinpoint what the chef was trying to showcase with this dish. Service was excellent… attentive yet not intrusive. Great ambiance. Will come by soon for dinner.

3.5 stars on this lunchtime visit. I had their cod special — cod? Hm… Not sure if it were actually cod but let’s assume it is– it came overdone. Bread was freshly baked and not too salty like at some other places — nice. Dessert blackberry cobbler w vanilla ice cream was excellent, and nice sized scoop of ice cream. Good share-able portion! Still I like this place :)

Tried Eddie V’s for the first time this past week and had an overall pleasant experience. Large bar area that featured a jazz ensemble. Dining room was large an aesthetically pleasing. Menu had a good variety of things that appealed. Started with the Kung Po Calamari– this was the least impressive item that came to the table. It did not have that much of an asian flavor which sort of defeated the purpose of calling in «Kung Po». It was presented in a messy fashion with fried rice noodles. Things got better with the Wedge Salad, which had a tasty dressing and large strips of bacon. For the main I had the filet topped with foie gras in a truffle sauce. The steak and foie gras were cooked to perfection and the overall highlight of the night. Sides included Truffle Mac & Cheese and Brussel Sprouts with Bacon– both would be ordered again. All of this was consumed with martinis and wine from a good size wine menu. Rounded out the dinner with the Hot Chocolate Molton Chocolate Cake which was definitely big enough to share with a few others after everything else that was consumed. I definitely plan to return to try some of the main course seafood offerings. Our server highly recommended trying the Sole entrée on our next visit.

OK. sorry, this review is from last month but I wanted to get it out there that this place is a nice place and a good alternative to J Gilberts’s for steak and seafood in the McLean area. Real quick: great bar area with seating and live music. Steaks, 4⁄5. Seafood 3⁄5. I think their seafood can be a little better. I dont recall it being good relative to price. Overall the servers, bar, music, and atmosphere was good. Parking of course… well, valet it or park yourself, not the greatest self park being in the Tysons Corner mall.

I came here with a party of 15 for a holiday dinner. I had high expectations of it from the great reviews on here. However, it did not go as impressive and smooth as I’d like. It seemed that our waiter was lacking experience in serving a big group like this. We only had one waiter for the entire group and another waiter jumped in every now and then but wasn’t enough to speed things up significantly. We would be satisfied if the food was great enough to compensate for the average service, unfortunately it was not. We did splurge a little for this occasion by ordering several courses and the high-end menu items. Nothing was outstanding as expected from an upscale place like this. Oysters were just Okay, not great. The steaks(different kinds), from my end of the table, were all overcooked than what we ordered, not a deal breaker but still. Scallops were also overcooked and not hot because it was sitting out too long. Perhaps their service and food might be better for smaller party, but that shouldn’t matter for an upscale place like this. We expected better for the price we paid.

My husband and I came here for his birthday dinner on a Wednesday night — maybe it was the holidays, but the whole place was popping! Luckily, it was very easy to make reservations(lots of open time slots) and when we were running late, they just moved our reservation by 15 minutes quite easily. Parking in the garage and going upstairs was also quite easy. Recommend actually parking in the garage where the restaurant is and not crossing through the mall, as that might get confusing. The food is fantastic and the service was great — I didn’t catch our server’s name, but she was very knowledgeable and friendly and knew the menu quite well, making great recommendations. The best thing we had all night was the shrimp and crab fried rice — unbelievably delicious! We almost ordered another just to take home. I also had the Hong Kong style Chilean Sea Bass. The fish is well-cooked, super flaky but meaty at the same time. My husband had the Icelandic cod, which he also enjoyed. The portions were large and all the food was extremely flavorful. I also had the lobster bisque as an appetizer, which had to be one of the best I’ve ever had! It’s a beautiful restaurant, so the ambiance is modern, romantic and trendy all at the same time. HOWEVER — the floors in the bar and bathroom area are incredibly slick. In the bar area, I was chatting with a friend, took a step back and my shoe slipped on the floor and both me and my shoe went flying(I was fine though!). Later on, another of my girl friends went to the bathroom and when she came back, she almost slipped coming back into the bar area as well. Management checked on me and refreshed my drink, but if you’re on the clumsy side or want to rock new shoes to this place, make sure the bottoms are properly scuffed/broken in! Overall, this place is great for a romantic/special occasion dinner date and for meeting friends for drinks at the bar. We will definitely come back!

I spent my time at the bar, but I must say this place is swanky, swanky, swanky — really poppin’ on a Tuesday night. There was a live jazz band, too. The bartenders are very attentive, offering refills and proactively bringing water. Our bartender, Abdul, was great. For snacks, my party and I had the raw oysters, tuna tartare, and seafood tower — all very tasty and fresh. If you’re a seafood lover, you cannot go wrong here. The seafood tower was obviously my favorite: lobster tail, crabmeat, raw oysters, and jumbo shrimps. The accompaniments were cocktail sauce, horseradish, garlic in vinegar, and saltine crackers. I don’t really ever eat saltine crackers with seafood, but the sauces were great. It becomes a tad hard to hear your dining partner at this place, but the atmosphere is very upscale and nice. I would highly recommend this place and will be back for a proper sit-down dinner.

I came here for happy hour with some co workers and wow, absolutely amazing. We only ordered appetizers, but all of them were impeccably prepared and to die for. My top recommendations are their lobster tacos(two to an order), lobster tartar, and calamari. The décor and service at this place are also top notch. Perfect for a date or more formal dining environment. There is also live music at the restaurant, with a singer and grand piano located in one of the corners.

Since Eddie V’s has opened I have visited three times. One time was for a happy hour(at the bar obviously), and the second time was for dinner, but we dined in the bar area and the third was a pharmaceutical dinner, where the wait staff has nothing to do with why you are attending, and the menu is preselected so it would be unfair to judge based on that. Since this place is new, and getting a table won’t happen without reserving ahead of time so I have always sat at the bar mostly I always feel like a jerk cancelling tables or being late. Anyway, the bar is nice. The décor is very chic, and they’re definitely going for an upscale sort of vibe. The bar crowd around happy hour is just a big ol’ handful of suits with a median age(I’m guessing) of 45. Kind of a older crowd for me. I’m also sort of tired of all the steakhouses in Tyson’s. There are more steakhouses than almost anything else. However, that is a personal thing. I like jazz so I liked that they have a jazz band playing, but the space that the band occupies in relation to the bar is close in proximity layered with a fairly large bar with a high occupancy, so its a little loud for me. There have always been at least 4 bartenders on while I have stopped in, and they’re all nice enough, but none really made a lasting impression or introduced themselves. One on both occasions actually a bit unfriendly, but everyone has a bad days. As far as the menu, it is mostly seafood(which I love) and some steaks. Their bread, like a handful of people have mentioned, is really fresh and very tasty. Ive had the calamari which is good, and a large portion but they add tons of crisped noodles to it which are just not edible. The shrimp and crab chopped salad is awesome though, and also very large. I have even split it with someone before because its so big. Conclusion: Eddie V’s is good, but there are better

I recently came here with my family and enjoyed the food, service, and ambiance of the whole place. The restaurant is located in the plaza side of Tysons Corner, which boasts an outdoor rink and Christmas tree right now. As we entered for dinner on Friday, I noticed that there was live music being played, which really added to the atmosphere. Our waiter was very friendly, informative, and attentive. We stuck to seafood instead of steak and enjoyed everything we ordered. All the food we ordered were big in portion, cooked well, and very flavorful. We ordered the chopped salad, crab cake, and kung pao calamari for our appetizers. The crab cake was delicious and was packed with lots of crab instead of other ingredients, which I find often happens at other restaurants. For our mains, we go the lobster tail, swordfish, scallops, and halibut. All were great! And for dessert, we got the hot chocolate Godiva cake to share. I would come again. I recommend this place for a special night out.

We had a very nice dinner post thanksgiving which is always a nice time to dine out. The fried oyster appetizer was one of the best I can remember. My sea bass served in a light Asian sauce was splendid. My wife’s grilled shrimp served with crab was enough for left overs. The décor is beautiful. The service was very good though a little casual for fine dining. All in all a 4+ star experience which is overdue in Tyson’s Corner. My only concern, which maybe is just a suspicion, is that while Eddie V sound homey, it is part of the billion dollar Darden food enterprise, Red Lobster and Olive Garden, so does Eddie source their own product or is this just an upgraded Red Lobster. Ideally in upscale I like giving my money to the small struggling chef owner.

I have few complaints about Eddie V’s, but it just didn’t seem great enough for me to want to go back and pay their prices for the stuffy, DC steakhouse atmosphere. We came for dinner on a Thursday night with no reservation, and we were surprised that the place was booked solid. There were plenty of first-come, first-serve tables in the bar area, which we didn’t mind at all, and they serve their full menu there, as well as happy hour specials. The ambiance in the bar area was pretty typical of an expensive steakhouse, a little dark, a little stuffy, and with lots of older folks. It was pretty crowded, and they had decent live music when we went. Service in the bar area was impeccable. Our server was outstanding, really friendly, fast, helpful, etc. If Eddie V’s had an awesome happy hour, I could easily go there pretty frequently, but as it was, their happy hour specials are abysmal. They had a couple of wines on special for $ 10/glass. I liked my Cabernet, and my dining companion enjoyed his Chardonnay, enough to get a second glass of both. But $ 10 just doesn’t feel like a special price to me, especially when I know that Earl’s next door has legit drink specials for happy hour. I’m pretty disappointed by how many of the new restaurants in Tysons think they don’t have to offer a decent happy hour. I liked the free bread and flavored butter. For my entrée, I had the scallops, and my friend had the sole, and we split a huge side of brussels sprouts. They were good, and my friend and I cleaned our plates, but I thought the preparation of the scallops was a little pretentious while detracting from the flavor. They were sauteed perfectly, but I just didn’t think grapefruit went very well with them and would have preferred a more savory flavor to accompany them. Also, they were not as good as scallops I’ve had at Legal Sea Foods(across the street), or Willow, or even Seasons 52(inside the same mall!) during happy hour, and therein lies the problem. The brussels sprouts were fine, pretty comparable to what you can get at any other place that serves roasted brussels sprouts. The total bill came out to about $ 150(even with happy hour pricing on the drinks!), and at those prices, I’m expecting something beyond the same quality food I can get at other places with a more formal atmosphere and fancier dressed hostesses. Not sure I’ll be back, but props to our server!

Nothing about Eddie V’s suggests the word«poor.» Not ideal if you are pinching your pennies, but if you are on an expense account, trying to impress a client or simply want to pamper your belly, this is your place. Upon arrival into the dining room, you notice the vast bar flowing with patrons. The atmosphere was perfect for a Friday night. There are high ceilings and the swanky décor and sheer paneled curtains are bathed in blue lights. The night view overlooking Tysons Corner was beautiful. However, what was most impressive, was the jazz trio that was playing in the corner. Their volume was high, but not intrusive and they sounded fantastic. We were placed at a high table that backed the wine cellar. It’s meant for a group of 4, or two couples and I’m glad they didn’t seat another couple beside us because that would of been awkwardly too close. The service was excellent to superior. Our waiter deserves credit for maintaining high serenity and enabling us to enjoy private conversation in a very public and busy environment. A rare achievement. Everything was served quickly. I couldn’t believe how fast our entrees and sides arrived. We decided to skip the first and second courses on the menu because the entrees we wanted were pretty rich. I’m glad we did. His 22oz bone-in ribeye(that I coaxed him to order because I wanted a piece) was roughly the shape and size of Europe. And man did it taste good. It was as if that specific cow was moved, trained and exercised in just that part of flesh he handed over to me. So tender. My jumbo gulf shrimp topped with crab meat were prepared«oreganata style,» which I can only concur means nestled in delicious oregano, garlicky bread crumbs with a hint of lemon. The firm shrimp along with the texture and taste of the crumbs pulled some surprise punches even for this seasoned palate. We also ordered the brussels sprouts with bacon and shallots and Eddie V’s signature crab fried rice for our sides. The sprouts were fresh and listen… anything is better with bacon. The crab fried rice alone is worth you making a reservation to this place. When the good Lord comes back to take me to Heaven, I surely hopes he allows me to bring this recipe. Enough said. I wasn’t able to take my good friend to dinner last week to celebrate his birthday so I made sure I marked it on my reservation. He chose crème brûlée for our dessert and it arrived with«Happy Birthday» embossed in chocolate syrup and a single lit candle in the pudding. I hope before he blew it out, he wished for many more excellent dining experiences such as this with good friends and great food, worthy of repeated encores.

So if you like beautiful things then you’ll love Eddie V’s. If this isn’t the prettiest restaurant I’ve ever dined at then it’s a close second. My dear and BEAUTIFUL friend Tracy N picked this restaurant to continue our birthday date tradition. Man she is one classy broad! Lol! Yeah, I was with the prettiest lady in this pretty joint. Super Dope! Okay, now that I’ve blown her pretty head up, let’s get to this review. Lol! Eddie V’s has been on my bookmark list for some time now but because it’s in Tysons, I get distracted by the line of fine steakhouses in the city which is half the distance from my house. Today was the day. Eddie V’s is located in a fairly new office tower right next to Tysons Corner Mall. Once you walk in you have that same feeling you had when you were a kid and walked into Six Flags, while thinking, «I’m about to tear sh*t up!» Lol! An adult amusement park for sure. The fabulous architecture combining a lot of glass with a lot of class! In the class category sits the slammin Trio in the lounge area. Nothing like a grand piano, bass and a drummer getting it in and oh yeah, the drummer also sang like a recording artist! We were fortunate to be seated in the lounge area so we had live entertainment throughout our awesome meal! Speaking of awesome meal, here we go! I had the 22oz Ribeye which was top flight. Tracy had the grilled shrimp and crab dish which was absolutely delicious! We rounded off our meal with my new favorite, brussel sprouts and the crab fried rice was better than she previously raved about! I don’t know how I’m going to top this place when it’s time for me to take Ms. N out for her birthday, so I might as well make reservations now since we’ll be back! Lol

Another great steakhouse in the DMV. It’s becoming a meat eater’s paradise with BLT Steak, Joe’s Seafood, Del Frisco Double Eagle, Capital Grille, Del Campo, and so forth. Came here late on a Thursday evening and the place was packed and had an awesome vibe. The waitress we had was just fantastic. I wish I remembered her name. Told her it was my brother wedding the next day, so she surprised with a glass of champagne and later a free dessert. The food was fantastic. For appetizers, we loved the crab cakes and tuna tartare. The crab cakes had no filler and just tasted great. For entrees, Eddie V’s is actually known for it’s seafood. I tasted the halibut, and boy that turned me into a halibut fan. It was so tender it melted in your mouth. If you are a lobster fan, I highly recommend the broiled South African lobster tail. I got it as a supplement($ 44 extra). It was like butter — so silky and rich. My NY Strip came out medium when I requested in medium rare, but it was still juicy and very flavorful. I didn’t want to send it back since the kitchen was closing. My other brother’s bone-in ribeye was great. For sides, the twice baked potato was enormous but tasted great. I agree with Ruth C, It was one of the best ones I’ve eaten. Great place for date night and for special occasions.

4.5÷5 stars I’m a complete sucker for live jazz and shellfish, that being said. Eddie V’s is right up my alley. From the restaurant group behind Capital Grille & Seasons 52, Eddie V’s is a welcome addition to Tyson’s for premium seafood. Some of the best seafood I’ve ever had, period. Great cocktails, quality seafood, & a classy ambiance is the holy trifecta when it comes to impressing in-laws and business associates. Don’t shoot me, maybe I should’ve staved off this review until then, however I haven’t tried the steak so I can’t speak on that, but if their meat is anything like that of Capital Grille, then I already trust them. Their shrimp and crab stuffed salad is filled with everything I love in life. Everything I love in life being; hearts of palm, avocado, candied walnuts, Maytag blue & mushrooms. I’m a huge fan of their Halibut, Swordfish, Cold Water Lobster Tails, &(a Japanese inspired?) Chilean sea bass w/a Shoyu Broth. I’ve also stolen bites off of friends entrees of Scallops & Shrimp both of which were cooked to perfection. To top it off their banana’s foster + s’mores desserts are both solid options for ending a meal. While pricey, most people know what they’re getting into when dining at a place like this, so price really wasn’t accounted for in the rating. Yes while it’s more than what you’ll spend at a typical ‘seafood joint’ you’re paying for a great experience. f.y.i, something I found out that I thought was just amazing is that at the end of the day Eddie V’s staff freeze and store surplus food for donation to local food banks.

Eddie V’s is a beautiful restaurant. Modern and classy ambiance with a pretty view of the Tyson’s area(I didn’t know Tyson’s could actually provide a nice view haha). It’s located in an office building, upstairs. The service was phenomenal — we were stopping there before an event, and told our waitress upfront that we needed to have the check by a specific time. She was very helpful in keeping us apprised of the time and sticking to our schedule. The quality of most of the food was great. We started with the lobster tail appetizer, and we all agreed it was one of the best lobster tails we had ever tasted, in terms of preparation, taste, and quality. We also got a calamari appetizer, which is GIGANTIC. Perfect size app for four people. It had an Asian twist, with a sweet-and-sour type sauce and a slight kick to it. I normally don’t opt for calamari at restaurants, but this was outstanding. The spinach and garlic side item was also terrific — the perfect amount of garlic flavor. The shining star of the meal though was the red fish meuniere! Perfectly cooked piece of fish with a terrific savory sauce and lemon, topped with bits of jumbo lump crab. I’m definitely ordering that next time I’m back. This time around however, I was a bit disappointed with my entrée, the Jonah crab stuffed gulf shrimp. While the shrimp were huge, the crab stuffing seemed to be mostly breadcrumbs, and there was no sauce on it, making for a VERY dry, breadcrumb-filled entrée. I didn’t finish it and I wouldn’t order it again. The other flaw in our meal was the twice-baked potato side item. It was also very dry and flavorless — it tasted like someone just mashed up some potatoes with no butter or cream or salt and then put it back in a bowl. Not a fan. The rest of the meal though was really amazing and made up for some of the flaws. I’ll be curious to try the red meat next time I’m back as well. With the beautiful views and décor, classy vibe, great service, and several fantastic items, we were happy with our experience and intrigued enough to want to come back and try more.

Warm table bread with a thick crust was nothing to write home about, but much improved by the spiced-chive butter. Potstickers were okay, good amount of ginger in the filling, and I liked that sliced shiitake mushrooms were included in the soy broth. I was similarly ambivalent about the huge portion of calamari: I loved that they included the tentacles, the batter was crispy, and the bean sprouts were delicate, but the puffed rice noodles are a messy bed to nestle all the goodies on and I’m not a fan of the Tso’s sauce despite the toasted whole cashews. Chilled shrimp were nicely fresh, but completely upstaged by the rich, creamy lobster & shrimp bisque. Caesar was dressed nicely: whole baby lettuce leaves, generous amount of Parmesan shavings, and large toast rounds for croutons. Asparagus were a little over-steamed for my taste, but the hollandaise hid the problem fine. Broccolini cooked more al dente, but maybe too basic to repeat. Best tWice baked potato I’ve had in awhile, tons of cheese and rendered bacon. Broiled South African lobster tail was the best lobster I’ve ever had, cooked until just tender. Red fish meuniere was phenomenal, flavorful to the point of decadence with the help of fresh lump crab. Ribeye was almost as good as the seafood, standard seasoning and hit the meat temp right. Hot blackberry cobbler melted the vanilla ice cream quickly, and had minimal crust on top; fortunately, some of the blackberries were a little tart to counter the overall sweetness. Park in the mall garage and walk along the outside from Level 4. Talented live jazz pianist, classy décor, attire varies between dressy casual to the advertised business casual. Our server recommended a great cabernet without the sommelier and was enthusiastic despite a few hiccups(silverware replacements had to be requested on two different course intervals, and he mistakenly assumed everyone at the table would be partaking of the wine). Waters and wineglasses were refilled quite regularly. Less steep than Morton’s, so I think we’ll be back: batterfried oysters, tartare of Pacific ahi tuna, Hawaiian yellowtail sashimi, Georges Bank scallops, swordfish steak, and halibut filet have already piqued our interest despite the server’s recommendations for oysters and Chilean sea bass.

4.5 stars. Beautiful spot, live jazz, great service, and delicious food. My review is going to be solely based off of happy hour. I arrived at 6PM on a Wednesday night and it was surprisingly busy because there were a few parties going on. I sat at the bar and had an old-fashioned and the steak and lobster tartare. I asked the bartender for any drink with maker’s mark in it, and was given an old-fashioned which was skillfully crafted with a little twist by Abdul, who is such a pleasant, knowledgeable, and wonderful bartender. He added in some sugar cubes to take the edge off the bitterness, and it was perfect. Although he was busy fulfilling drink orders and waiting on some stragglers from the large parties, he made sure I was being taken care of, which I very much appreciated. The steak and lobster tartare($ 10 on happy hour) was the only food item that I was able to try. I did enjoy this plate, however it was a tad too salty for me. The bread that it came with did immediately balance out the flavor, but when I did not want to fill up on the bread, the flavor became overwhelming. However, the texture and the way it was prepared was perfect. The only other minor complaint I have is that the happy hour menu was not more extensive. There were only about 4 food choices on the happy menu. Overall, this is a great new addition to Tysons and would be a perfect spot for a date. I will definitely be returning to see my favorite bartender Abdul!
