Esquire Confections

I ordered a lemon cake with raspberry filling & lemon icing. Was very delicious, moist and not run-​of-​the mill. Fresh lemon zest and fresh raspberries in the filling (not just icing with raspberry liquor). Was able to place the order on short notice (2 days!).

I can’t recall how I stumbled upon Amanda and Esquire Confections, but I am so glad I did. We have hired Amanda a few times now for birthday cakes and she is always so lovely to work with. Her cakes are DELICIOUS! And really beautiful. Her prices are reasonable too! At our last party we asked Amanda to created a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle cake for us and the cake was gorgeous — I felt bad cutting into it! Of course once I did it was so good! Everyone commented on how delicious and moist the cake was. I have been so happy with Esquire Confections and look forward to working with Amanda again soon.

Amanda made a baby shower cake that was amazing! It was so cute and exactly what I asked for. When we bit into it, multiple people at the shower asked me for Amanda’s number. The pricing was also reasonable.

I stumbled onto Esquire Confections through a DC Urban Mom recommendation. We used her for our son’s 3^rd birthday cake. She made an amazing (and heavy!) firetruck to celebrate him turning 3! The cake was red velvet and I almost cried when I ate it. The cream cheese frosting (even with the coloring) was so delicious. I tend to believe that red coloring makes frosting taste terrible, but this was not the case with her cake. The entire cake was not too sweet, just the right density. The cake was also so incredibly moist. We had a ½ sheet cake and had only a tiny bit left (though plenty of leftover Vace pizza!) I cannot recommend her enough. After 3 days of idling in our fridge the small chunk was just destroyed by my ravenous 4 o’clock snack attack.
She’s operates out of her home, but is very professional. We’ll be using Esquire Confections for all our birthday cakes. Every parent asked for her contact information before leaving the party.
