I booked the rehearsal hall for my sister’s baby shower. Overall, the location is nice and clean. There’s plenty of parking and the staff were very helpful! I have to say, the room setup didn’t match what I sent I previously but they were very apologetic and fixed that right away. It’s not the fanciest venue, but it suited a baby shower just fine and is very affordable. I would definitely book this location again!

This is a multi-purpose community center that makes a lot of use of all its spaces. Several Community theater organizations have this as their home; a professional dance company uses it. They sponsor cooking classes in their full-service kitchen. There are smaller rooms for audtions, classes, parties and so on. Care is taken of the center. It’s clean, the bathrooms are spotless, repairs are made. Despite its age and constant usage, it’s well-maintained. It also houses McLean Project for the Arts, so there’s always a display of art on hand. The theater has a slanted floor that allows for good sight lines to the stage, even when in the back rows. There’s a balcony as well. Parking is available and is usually plentiful. With crowded events, it can take time to exit the lot because there is only 1 entrance and folks dropping off/picking up at the front can slow even this 1 lane down. The outside area is shaded and well-groomed, so there’s even an outside area that has been used for events.

The McLean Project for the Arts is a great resource for parents of developing artists and I strongly encourage anyone with a child who has any interest to take some classes and check it out. The instructors are professional artists, the teaching assistants are highly talented and motivated art students, and the staff is very supportive and accommodating. I can’t do the studio space justice here but it is fantastic and allows children to work in a professional space that any adult would be happy with. The classes are inexpensive and if that’s an issue they have many family sessions which are practically free. I haven’t done much there besides the art classes, but I can’t recommend those highly enough.

It’s a great little community center located near downtown McLean. I have some great memories of visiting this place as a wee lad. The first time I visited this community center was in middle school when some of my art was displayed in an art show. Since then I’ve returned at different times in my long life. Now, I go there with my own kids… walking down the halls remembering times past. It’s clean, it hosts many great community events and its close to my office. I just have to give it 5-stars to raise the rating of this favorite community gem.

nice auditorium, shows, and they offer lots of different classes for kids to adults including cooking, fitness, and even Corcoran affiliated art classes. they even have three neat little art galleries in the building and lots of events and festivals. would’ve given them more stars but facility rentals were not very efficient. actually the manager i dealt with was just plain rude. the room rental rates seem totally random and not straight forward. plus you can’t get this information from the main info desk or their website. when asking about a date for a room rental, it took a few days to get a response. when we met with him he rushed the visit like he didn’t want to even bother. After following up to try and set up the rental, he gave us two very different excuses for why we couldn’t have the space — the first being repairs, then the second was it was already booked. how can it be booked if it was being repaired? talk about sketchy. recommend that they provide the rental rates via handout at the front desk or on their website like hotels and restaurants do, so the manager can have more time to deal with other facility issues or at least keep his excuses straight. otherwise come here for the classes, shows, art, and events.
