I have been going for years to Salon Daniel for various things, hair cuts, hair color, and relaxing, and the lady that takes care my hair, Melissa, is just amazing, all of the stylists attend workshops in New York to be in tune with the latest trends and developments in hair styling. If I were to make an appointment for Hair style, Melissa, would be the go to person !

Update! Just came back to go for a summer look. Wanted to go lighter and as we know it can be a challenge to go from dark brown to caramel-blondish tones. But that definitely wasn’t a challenge for Miriam, who is undeniably color specialist. My hair came out better than I have expected which is an incredible feeling to have when leaving a hair salon. Miriam is very pleasant and most importantly listens to customers’ requests and delivers. As usual, Salon Daniel always«wow» me with their above and beyond customer service. This salon is a true gem in the Mclean area. Thank you for a GREAT experience. Nabila C.

I have been going to see Melissa Silva for cut and color for over 15 years. Melissa is a real gem and the salon has a great atmosphere. It is on the expensive side but the results are well worth the price. Daniel has set very high standards for his stylists and for customer service. I have referred a number of friends to Melissa and they all have been very happy.

Lilly and Daniel gave me the best color and cut I’ve had in years… and years. They listened to my incoherent rambling about what I thought I did and didn’t want and somehow through that barrage of words intuited what would work best for me(good God, how did they pull that off?). I’m impressed and, strangely, grateful.

I love Salon Daniel! I’ve been going here for 2 years and have been seeing Lilly for my color, cut, and blowouts from day 1. I love how respectful the entire staff is of my schedule — I have never waited more than 5 minutes for an appointment — and they always do their best to fit me in if I need a service. Layla is also amazing for facials, pedicures, manicures, and waxing. Salon Daniel is a one-stop shop!

I followed my stylist Lisa Duryea to this salon and have been so pleased. Lisa is fantastic, or I wouldn’t have followed. I had my hair cut and colored years ago in Paris and went to Lisa on a recommendation that she could maintain both, and she has done so beautifully. Salon Daniel has excellent customer service. I have yet to have a disappointing wash, and check out is a breeze. A great all around experience.

I followed my stylist Darrell Thompson to this salon. I have to admit, I was hesitant to write a review because I would like to keep this little gem to myself. But Darrell deserves a great review! He has been doing my extensions for roughly 8+ years. My hair is very fine so it takes someone with expert hands and knowledge to do extensions for me. I won’t trust anyone else with my hair. He’s amazing. While some salons are hit or miss I like the consistency Darrell provides. When I make an appointment with him I always know I will look my best. My daughter has super curly hair and Darrell has been taming those locks for years as well. Not many stylist are good with extensions, straight hair and curly hair. This man can do it all. I strongly recommend Darrell for any hair needs but especially extensions of any kind.

I went to visit Lisa Duryea recently as she used to be my hairdresser at the tangerine dream in great falls. Lisa is a color expert and specializes in Redken and is a certified colorist. Lisa handles my color, cut and blow dry and makes me laugh to boot! Her new salon is more inviting than the old one as they have more support staff and you feel like everyone is eager to make you happy. I travel a lot and its hard to always get in with Lisa on my schedule but if you book ahead you will get in as she will work with you to make time. She has taken my friends on short notice also but she needs time to work magic and wont rush anyone through.

Simon Bechara is an awesome hair stylist. I had a last minute modeling shoot and I need my hair. He gave me an elegant and fresh variation to my hair that brought out my eyes and smile in the photo. He was very patient to a very nervous model who needed last minute attention. Thank you Simon. Susan.

Miriam Romero is AMAZING! I went into Salon Daniel for the first time yesterday wearing a beanie to hide my orange/blonde hair(from another salon). Besides wanting to fix the overall color, I had dark roots which clearly needed to be fixed! Miriam did full color followed by a fresh haircut. She did an excellent job in understanding what I was looking for, and followed through to a perfect 10! The service time was very appropriate and I never felt rushed as I have with other salons. I knew she cared about preventing any further damage to my hair and scalp which I value a lot. She was very friendly, and she was very skilled in both the coloring and hair styling process! Miriam did such an amazing job that I have not stopped receiving compliments from people since I’ve had my hair done. In fact, today someone even asked me if I am a hair stylist haha. As far as the rest of the salon, Everyone was very welcoming! Will return for sure! thanks again Miriam :)

When I called up for an appointment, the receptionist was very friendly and booked me for a 4pm haircut with Daniel. Well, the day of my appointment, I had to wait about 30 minutes in the reception… Daniel was very nice, and we spoke about what I wanted(layers to give my long hair some lift and body since it’s so thick and heavy)… I then enjoyed a nice shampoo and condition with an assistant. But Daniel had been running back and forth from one woman and another in the same parlor… And when I finally got seated, he was still curling ones hair and styling another. Then he got pulled into another room to discuss renovations… probably a good hour late… It was really not a nice experience even though Daniel was super nice. I liked his skill with his special scissors… But I think with all the distractions and running around, he ended up cutting off way more than we had discussed. And he did my haircut in les than ten minutes, so I didn’t have any time to protest. He then gave me «Kim Kardashian» curls, which he said was also to keep me from noticing to how much length he took off. I’m not a Kim-fan, but the waves and length didn’t bother me as much as the idle time, disruption and the desk receptionist… Then, the desk receptionist was a bit obnoxious. She was different than the woman who booked me on the phone. She said, «you shouldn’t book your appointment at the end of the day…» I advised her that I didn’t ask for that time and the appointment was suggested to me, and that I should have been notified for rescheduling if they were running late. And she also charged me $ 10 more than was advised(I purchased a deal to try them out). Apparently, as a new customer, she was supposed to have given me a welcome gift bag… I only realized this because Daniel was the one who asked me and gave me one. Daniel is very charming, and I think he is a very talented stylist… but perhaps he had too many clients that day to provide me a good experience. I did the deal for $ 50 off. On the phone, I was told that the haircut was $ 140, but then during checkout, it was $ 155…either way, there was clearly no communication with the receptionists.

Love be this place, have been a customer for 10 years. When I lived in Florida I used to get my hair done here every time I visited. The staff are all nice and professional. I enjoy my visit here every time. My hairdresser Melissa is great!

Kevin has styled my hair for 5 years. I had the hardest time getting my strawberry blonde correct. Kevin got it every single time. Plus he gave me a fresh style that made me look younger. I’m 51. He has done my style as” mother of the groom” which was fabulous. Kevin Sanders is amazing and has so much passion for hair. You will come out feeling great.

Luz was amazing! I wear hijab and it was difficult for me to find a salon that had a back room or a private room where I could get my hair cut and this place had one. My haircut was beautiful and I felt comfortable in Luz’s knowing hands. Will definitely come back!

More like 3.5 stars. This is my second visit here. The first time was years ago; too long to remember. That first time was OK, but being the price range that it is I didn’t feel«wowed» enough to come back. Over the years I kept getting emails with offers of small-ish discounts. This time, however, I got an offer I could not refuse — 50% discount! I made an appointment with Darryl for a 2:30pm on a Friday. A couple of hours before my appointment the salon called asking if I could move my appointment out to 3pm. I couldn’t. So, the lady on the phone says, «OK, could you hold for a minute while we discuss what to do?» Sure I’ll hold. Less than a minute later the call drops(or they hung up). They didn’t call back. No matter. I had a few things to get done. A little before 2pm I call them back to ask what they had decided to do about my appointment. The lady says go ahead and keep the 2:30pm time. Darryl was running late from another place and said to give me a complementary deep conditioning hair treatment if he couldn’t get there on time. Fine with me as long as I can get out of the salon in good time to go pick up my kids from the school bus stop. I told the receptionist when I arrived at 2:15pm that I was a bit early but happy to wait. The lady was very nice and asked me if I wanted something to drink. There was a very nice and spacious seating area. I had my book. All is well. At around 2:38pm I was getting antsy that time was ticking by. No one had come back to get me. So, I approached the receptionist(a different one this time) and told her my situation. She immediately responded and within a minute ushered me to the hair washing area for my complementary hair treatment. I was introduced to a lady who seems to be a representative of the hair treatment product(Wella or Weleda?) who was going to wash my hair. She gave be a pitch about the product before hand. Felt a bit weird, but ok. Very nice & friendly lady though. At one point during my hair wash, 2 staff came over and told me that the decision have been made that Daniel(owner of the salon) will be doing my hair as(apparently) Darryl wasn’t going to make it. They would charge me the same as what I would have gotten with Darryl. Fine. No biggie with me. Now this is where the experience started getting weirder. One of the assistant stylists(the people who don’t do the actual cutting but steps in to help with the blow drying and styling) suddenly rushed at me – right after I was just told by the sales pitch lady to completely«relax» while I wait for the hair treatment to work on my hair with a hot towel wrapped around my head — and started rinsing my hair off very abruptly. It seemed like maybe she was told to hurry up and get me over to Daniel as obviously now he’s had to fit me into HIS schedule since Darryl couldn’t make our appointment. AND I had told them that I was somewhat on the clock. However, if you’re going to offer the customer a complementary hair treatment that’s suppose to take some minutes to work it’s magic, shouldn’t u kinda let that happen? What would 1 – 2 more minutes really do anyway? And the assistant stylist literally pounced on me without saying a word. I thought it was odd that she would not communicate what she was doing to me. Daniel gave me a very nice hair cut similar to the photo I had prepared to show on my iPhone. The hair cut was very quick. After he was done he called to someone to come blow dry my hair. After a rather oddly long wait, the lady who rinsed my hair came to do the blow dry. She was again super rough and was pulling at my hair and using a rather hot temperature on the dryer and holding it too close to my head. After my hair was almost completely dry, Daniel came back to do the final drying and styling. The hair treatment sales pitch lady came over to «ooo & aahh» over how improved my hair must be from the treatment(that was cut short). Meanwhile Daniel asked if I use a heated iron curler at home. I said no and I don’t really style my hair at all. So he says, «Oh, it’s so easy to use and we happen to sell them in the salon if you are interested.» On comes another sales pitch for the heated iron curler. Granted it did look super easy what he was doing to my hair, but really I think his efforts were wasted on me as I don’t spend much time on my hair at all. I think perhaps the whole Darryl not turning up threw everything out of whack so I don’t want to be too harsh on how they handled the service. Over all I felt that most of the staff did try to be attentive and helpful. Though communication between the staff could have been better. All the sales pitch pushing products was a little disconcerting though. I’ve been to many other salons and have never had products pushed on me this aggressively. Mostly I was very put off by that assistant stylist who didn’t speak a word to me and treated me like just another sheep she had to shear in the herd. Just odd.

I have been going to Darrell for at least 5 years now. He is the only person i trust with my thick, long Middle Eastern hair. I typically get a trim, roots, and sometimes highlights. The typical price for me is around $ 200. That includes a blow dry/straight iron. The whole thing takes about 3 hours(sometimes more), so it’s worth it. He has a gift for ethnic hair, and I have never been disappointed. He knows how to cut, color and style. Darrell was the only person i trusted to do my hair for my wedding, and he did not disappoint. He came to my hotel, did my hair and my mom’s, and was a blessing to have on such a crazy day. I have recommended everyone I know to him, of all races, and have never gotten any complaints. He is funny, patient, stylish and knows what looks best. I don’t even have to tell him what I want, I just leave it in his hands, and I always end up satisfied. The salon itself is fine. Good customer service. They have different services(nails, massage, etc), but the only one I have tried is the makeup. I don’t recall the girl’s name(it was in 2013), but I was not too thrilled with the trial so I would not go back for that. I am picky when it comes to make up application, so perhaps that’s just a personal thing. Bottom line, Darrell is amazing!

Darryl is amazing at coloring, styling, AND cutting hair! That’s rare. He listens to what you want, keeps the health of your hair in mind, and always uses top notch products. He always goes to trainings ect bc he understands the value of continuing education; so he always updates his technique. I have super curly hair but have referered friends with all types of hair and at the end of their appointment I ALWAYS get a call about how happy they are with him. Two of them ended up using him for their wedding hair. In addition to being an extremely talented stylist he has a great personality and always enjoy my visits with him!

I had a Living Social deal for a shampoo, haircut and style. I’ve been growing my hair out, but it had been a year since my last haircut so I was due for a trim. Everyone at the salon was incredibly friendly and accommodating. Upon entering the salon, I was greeted by the receptionist, and after signing in was offered a beverage. The girl who shampooed my hair gave an amazing head massage. It was wonderful. My haircut was done by Lily. She fully understood what I wanted. Lily added in some long layers to give my hair more movement and lighten up the look, but did not cut more than an inch off in length. She is the first stylist that has ever respected that I was trying to keep my hair long. After styling, my hair looked incredible. Lily is amazingly talented. I highly recommend her and Salon Daniel!
