Promised a lot and did not deliver. Totally missed the neucrosis in both my hips while treating my pelvic pain. After 32 visits I was given a pat on the back and out the door. Seems to have a revolving doors of doctors. Does not take insurance and charges the full price. Only doctors I know who does this. Seems to me they are more about making money than benefitting their patients. I would not recommend at all. Gene Scheer is excellent. She knows how to treat pelvic injuries. Cost me $14,000 in hotels rooms because they use part time doctors who do not work on the same days. My real problem is the business model they use and the high cost of care. I asked some of their employees if they could afford to get care their. The ones I talked to sad no. More about making money and helping their patients. Just my opinion.

Overpriced medical services. I was given a lecture but no diagnosis. Phone calls are NEVER returned. I think the price doesn’t equate to the services offered.

After 8 ½ years of misdiagnosis, in 2 visits Dr. Lisa Lilienfield found out what was Really Wrong with me. She is a doll… good listener, starts from square one instead of relying on other doctors’ reports, aggressive in diagnosis and treatment. Her staff? The Best. I think they are hired not only for their medical knowledge but also for their personalities. Funny, caring people.

Can’t comment on the quality or price reasonableness of services because I can not seem to get a response to my attempts to make the first appointment. Within a two and a half week period I sent two requests via their online registration and I also called and left a message with their office manager. No response to date. Based on the declaration on their internet site, they promise to respond by the next work day. Not true!

As some one who is new to acupuncture, I was a little skeptical, but my treatments with Becca Berkson were amazing! I saw her for anxiety and stress reduction and always left feeling great. She’s very friendly, patient and intuitive. If I could go more ofter I would.

I went to see Rebecca Berkson, the acupuncturist, during my pregnancy and she was phenomenal. At the start it would ease my nausea by about 80% and then as I went along it helped with so many other symptoms such as back pain, heart burn, and anxiety. She takes the time to talk to you and ask a ton of questions before treating you. Most people just try to «fix the problem» before they even know the problem and sometimes my symptoms masked other underlying issues which she addressed and then alleviated. Once I went past 9 months, I went to her every other day to get the process going and not only did it do that but my labor was incredibly short and easy and I absolutely attribute that to her treatments.

Very grateful for Becca Berkson, my acupuncturist extraordinaire! She is a healer, and the Kaplan Center is lucky to have her. I’m also grateful for the Kaplan Center’s strong emphasis on integrative medicine — as a naturopathic medical student myself, I appreciate the mission of this clinic and how it aims to treat the whole patient on a multitude of levels– body, mind, and spirit! I travel frequently to the DC area and I hope to continue seeing Becca for acupuncture, and I would highly recommend this clinic for anyone wanting to optimize their health, whether for acute or chronic conditions.

Excellent patient care. The offices are warm and inviting, the waiting room is actually a pleasure to sit in. Dr. Lisa changed my life by going the extra mile to figure out what was actually wrong with me.
I recommend The Kaplan Center to anyone who will listen.

Buyer beware. The Kaplan Clinic appeals to people who are desperate for answers regarding their medical issues, and who mistakenly assume that a high price for services equates to high quality. I met with Dr. Lillienfeld, who gets an A plus for knowing how to read questions verbatim from a form; I got no analysis or insight whatsoever regarding my medical concerns during the consultation.
On top of an expensive and highly unenlightening visit, I then had to pay $ 200 to simply learn what my blood results were. This was egregious for a couple of reasons. One, when the receptionist told me that the cost for a 5-​minute call was $ 50, but that calls normally took 20 minutes (equating to $ 200), I told her that I did not want to pay more than $ 50. She said she would relay this to Dr. Lillienfeld. However, when she got on the phone, the doctor meandered on unnecessarily, taking 20 minutes to get to a 5-​minute or less punch line, which was that basically all of the results were fine except that I was deficient in a couple of vitamins. She could have easily conveyed the crucial points in 5 minutes or less, but did not. And the finance person said that since the receptionist denied having this exchange with me, they had to charge me $ 200 for letting me know that I needed a vitamin supplement.
Disappointing as the clinic markets itself really well.
All fluff and no substance.
Ethically dubious practices.

I would stay away from Dr. Kaplan, who in my opinion is a charlatan who preys on the medically desperate. We took my chronically ill minor child, who has been sick for years and subjected to many difficult, invasive and ultimately unhelpful tests, to see him. When we declined just one recommended test, Dr. Kaplan spoke briefly with my child and then escorted us to the door, stopping only for us to write him a check for $ 1300. We left without getting the benefit of his treatment or full diagnostic recommendations, and without the sense that he had even fully reviewed my child’s medical history. He has since then refused to respond to any of my attempts to contact him via his office or to my requests that he provide us his medical recommendations. For someone who holds himself out as a doctor who can help those traditional medicine has failed, and who understands that physical illness can lead to emotional or psychological issues, I would have expected a little more compassion and professional persistence in the face of a chronically ill child who had some anxiety about one recommended test.
My advice: if you want compassion and responsiveness in a doctor, look elsewhere. If you are one to unquestioningly follow any and all doctor’s advice, and don’t care about follow-​up, he may be fine for you.

Update, Dr. Kaplan has started a managed care program, meaning to be seen by Dr. Kaplan, you are required to pay an annual fee, which is thousands. However, Dr. Lisa who is in the same office is not doing the managed care (but does not accept Medicare), and she is quite good.

I saw doctor Lisa after several years of trying to find a diagnosis for an ongoing problem. She gave me hope in the beginning and had some new ideas. Over time, however, it was clear that she wasn’t able to come up with ideas past her initial one.
Over time, she continued to run tests, but stopped calling me back. I flat out asked her office if she had given up one me and they never came back with an answer.
After moving, I found a wonderful doctor who actually has sound medical ideas. After the Kaplan center charged me $ 50 to receive my medical records, the new doctor found blank pages and the same data on several pages duplicated — obviously to drive up what they could charge me for these records. Further, now a new insurance company is requesting records and they are attempting to charge me again.
Upon receiving my records, it’s clear that the doctor only understood incremental parts of my history.
I would stay away. It’s difficult to have a chronic problem an it’s nice when you find a place that claims to figure them out, but buyer beware.

Dr. Lisa is the only dr who has taken care of my hypothyroidism. She is knowledgable and keeps up with the latest information.
