Love the convenience of having this place in the heart of my beloved McLean, but I really do not like the prices. ABC stores are great if you need some hard stuff in a pinch for a party or as a last-​minute gift for a boozy relative.
I *hear* people prefer to pick up cheaper fire water in Delaware or at Duty Free shops when traveling abroad with a broad. :-)
I would never do that… but that’s the word on the street.
Anyway, this place is small but well stocked so you can find whatever poison you need. There’s usually 2 people running the place and they’ll happily help you find whatever hooch you need.

State run liquor store with a pretty good selection.
Good size place with a very helpful staff.
If they don’t have it, they’ll special order it for you if they can.

State run liquor stores are like imported communism. I like the idea that I can find out which liquor store has the best prices and then purchase it from there. However, here, all of the prices are pre-​set and everyone pays the same price. I’d say they would be justified if the prices were set to be the cheapest but they’re not — which is why I keep shopping at the military class VI store whenever possible. ABC is just the backup to be used when the bases are too far.
