Our Passport again got us into another great state park, and this time we got to visit a light house! There was a small charge($ 2/adults, $ 1/kids) to actually go in the lighthouse and climb the 140 stairs to the top, but so worth it! Being able to stand outside at the top and look out over Lake Michigan taking pictures was just amazing! Being able to walk around the Lake Michigan shore and splash a bit was fun, though the water was a bit much for swimming the day we visited. The volunteers who greeted us and talked with us were very friendly and helpful. A must see for anyone visiting the Silver Lake area.

A must see in the Silver Lake Area. For a small fee,($ 2 Adults, $ 1 kids under 12), you can climb the stairs to the top and walk around the top. It’s cool if your not afraid of heights. Many thanks to the Light House Association and the volunteers to making this available to us!

This beautiful lighthouse was erected in 1874 and has been operating continuously ever since. It’s open for tours Friday — Sunday during the summer months.
