Every time I come here(& I use them only because of our insurance) I am on time and usually 5 min early however they are very slow and inconsiderate. During my eye exam 2 weeks ago I was here almost 2 hours. That’s ridiculous! I am here now for an appointment just to try on new contacts and I’m still on the waiting room 20 min past my appt time. I asked the receptionist how much longer because I only have a babysitter for 1 hour and she didn’t seemed concerned. If someone chooses your business and is on time you should be considerate of them and not take up their whole day!

If possible go to the office located in Burlington. My friend just went here and let’s start with them bullying her over her decision not to allow them to access her pharmaceutical history. She told the lady at check-in no which should have been the end of it. But no, when the nurse called her back to the room she pointed to the signature line on said form and told her to sign it. Again she told them no, which again should have been the end of it. The nurse, who smelled like she rolled in a 3 day old ashtray countered by saying her eye condition, which turned out to be a sty, could be linked to her medication history. Again, my friend said no. My friend, bless her heart, was so nice to these people who clearly had an aversion to being told no. The nurse’s response was to give an indignant snort. I guess smelling like a cigarette in an eye doctor’s office is no big deal but exercising your right to maintain your privacy is a some perverse act against mankind. So my friend asked nurse cigarette butt if she smoked, which seemed fair, since she was trying to strong-arm my friend into disclosing her personal business and the nurse responding by saying she used to. Judging my how she smelled«used to» meant 3 mins before I came to get you out of the reception area of the office. The doctor, further compounded the ignorance in the office by saying that she wasn’t supposed to treat my friend if she declined to sign the form. Really? The last time I checked, I lived in America. What the hell? In the end the doctor treated her but had an issue prescribing a medication to address some side effects of the prescription she was giving her. She wasn’t comfortable with that but my friend should be comfortable with paying another specialist co-pay in 2 days to see another doctor in the Burlington office. Why you ask, per the doctor at the Mebane office, to confirm her diagnosis. What else is there to say after that? So much for having faith in her professional opinion. Thank God we are going to the Burlington office. If you can wait, go the the Burlington office of Alamance Eye or try Carolina Ophthalmology in Chapel Hill or go to the ER but whatever you do, don’t go here. There is some serious room for improvement.
