Tried for the first time. The restaurant from the outside looks more modern than the inside. Inside could def be refreshed. Went for the Sunday brunch buffet. I was really excited for the brunch to try the pizza and pasta they said were part of the buffet so I could sample whether to come for an evening meal. The buffet is a little rag tag set up on a couple tables in a corner. They really aren’t set up to be a buffet. Good mixed fruit, eggs, and pancakes/French toast. Bacon was not crispy and very fatty. For Italian food, there were 3 old pieces of pepperoni pizza and a strange shrimp pizza that no one was touching. I ventured to try the pepperoni pizza since nothing new seemed to be coming. It must have sat so long that the crust was so soggy and wet it was not edible. It probably had potential… at some point. When I asked about the pastas they told me, by phone the day before were on the buffet, the waitress said that it depends on what the kitchen feels like making and they didn’t look like they were putting any out today. When I asked about when a new pizza would be out she said they were not putting anything new out right now, even though the only pizza up there was shrimp and no one was eating it. I told her that I was told different about the buffet than what it actually was serving and she did not care or have the desire to advocate with mgmt or the kitchen. When I left to pay it was clear she was talking to the man that owned the restaurant and had told him I wasn’t happy with the selection. They were all lined up next to the register and stopped talking and stared as we paid. No one had the customer service skills to talk to me directly, and chose the spineless route of talking about me. I will never know if their Italian food is any good since they didn’t use their brunch to showcase it to drive business and I will never find out because the apathy from waitress and owner were more unappealing than the shrimp pizza.

Stopped in for a late lunch, first time here and had a great experience! The lettuce was fresh and crisp, home made Italian salad dressing. I had the meat lasagna which was hot and delicious, my wife had a stromboli that was HUGE but the dough was freshly made and was FANTASTIC. We will be back!

Absolutely disgusting. When we first arrived we asked the waiter where the fresh salmon was from. He shrugged his shoulders and told us it was probably from Food Lion. That was our first red flag. Our second was that there were only two other tables in the restaurant on the Sunday night. My friend ordered lobster ravioli and a cream sauce. The sauce was bright yellow, we learned they had put saffron in it. It was OK. I ordered a Panini with tomatoes and mozzarella. The bread was clearly grilled but the tomatoes and mozzarella were ice cold. I’m not sure how they were able to put a sandwich in a Panini press and for the insides to not be warm. Well, in the middle of the night my friend and I were both awaken by what seemed like Montezuma’s revenge and it was absolutely awful. Our stomachs are still upset this evening. I was told that if we went there we would be safe if we ordered a pizza. We should have listened to our friend because we are both very uncomfortable today. We had to get up and walk to the kitchen to ask for napkins and refills of water. I will never go to this restaurant again. I grew up in this town and it is very sad to see the restaurant go to the toilet. I come back to visit once a year and this is how we are greeted? Very sad. Do not go to Pomodoro.

We quit going here about a year ago. Food quality was poor, service was poor, owner and servers were not friendly. On April 1, 201532 year old Joe bought Pomodoro. We decided to try it again but had low expectations. Nothing changed in the décor but everything else was different. Joe welcomed and seated us. We were surprised at how many people were in the restaurant. The server was friendly and shared the recent history and how happy she is to work there. She worked for the previous owners and was glad when they sold the restaurant. I love a good Philly Cheesesteak and they had it on special with a drink and I ordered onion ring for a dollar more. My wife loves calzones so she ordered a calzone with spinach and cheese. I thought I heard the cook chopping up a steak on the grill so I was encouraged maybe I am going to like this. When the food arrived I was totally shocked at the size of the calzone. It was huge and my wife loved it. My cheesesteak was delicious and it was a nice size portion. I hate frozen onion rings so when I bit into the onion ring and it did not come apart I knew they used fresh onions. That sold me on Pomodoro. Joe came by and introduced himself and we had a lengthy discussion about how he came to buy the restaurant and his philosophy about using local produce, his relationship with his employees. We had a piece of peanut butter and chocolate cake(delicious). I recommend Pomodoro for anyone visiting downtown Mebane. I think it is the best casual dining restaurant in Mebane.

We didn’t have dessert but we had the food and it was terrible! They ruined manicotti. My friends dinner was awful too.

We decided to give Pomodoro‘s a try this evening after hearing good comments on the change of ownership. It was absolutely the worst Italian meal I have ever had. The bread was cold and tasted like it had been in a basket for about one day. My wife ordered the broccoli cheese soup and it came as a congealed blob of yellow goo you could stand your spoon up in, and not in a good way. It was so unappetizing that we set it directly aside. The waitress realized the unappetizing look of that soup and came and took it before we even had a chance to say a word. The sampler plate that we got tasted like frozen Italian food that have been reheated in the microwave. The manicotti was cold, chicken parmesan was overcooked and tough, the tortellini alfredo was tasteless. We will not be going back.

Two visits, two strikes in my book. Food(3 sandwiches) took 20+ minutes to arrive in a 30% full restaurant. Kitchen seems quite dead. Glass sat empty for more than 20 minutes(placed conspicuously at the edge of the table), waiter came once during that period and did not ask if I wanted a refill. For sandwiches, the menu states that you can add fries or onion rings for $ 1; this is not true. You can substitute them(chips is the default) for $ 1.

Made reservations for 1:00 for a party of 18 on Mother’s Day to celebrate, well, Mother’s Day, but also the graduation of our daughter and her cousin from UNC-CH(Go Heels!). We expected the service to be slow due to the large group, and it was. We ordered at about 1:00 and our food came at about 1:45, pretty much as expected. When we realized they failed to cook one of our meals, it took almost 30 minutes for them to bring it(after multiple complaints). But as all well-managed restaurants do, they made it right. While we didn’t get a visit or apology from the manager, they comped 6 of our meals, and oh by the way, desserts were free on Mother’s Day. Overall, the food was excellent; several had the Calzone and it was a huge hit, and the pizza was great. The Italian sub was good but a little on the dry side. The Tour of Italy was also excellent. Personally, based on the quality of the food(oh and did I mention large portions?) and their over-the-top effort to recover from their mistake, I’d give Pomodoro another chance and recommend it to others.

We stopped here after an evening tour of Conservators Center. It was 8 pm and there was a 15 minute wait. Staff was polite and attentive. We ordered salads with our meal but the salad never came. Our meals were fantastic. I got eggplant parmigiana, my hubby got risotto de Mari and our little one got the kids«happy» pizza(which was huge for a kid!). Décor is nice, it’s a cute family business. It was one of the only places we could find to eat in the area.

Stopped by for a quick bite, food and service was very good. Garlic bread could have had a bit more butter and be toasted a little more. But overall we had great experience.

We came here on the recommendation of people at the Conservators’ Center about 20 minutes away. It was 9:00 at night and Mebane rolls up the streets. This was one of the few places open. The food was solid; not spectacular. We enjoyed it and had our fill. The service was top notch. Very attentive; our needs and wants were met easily. We were hungry(did I say it was 9PM?) and had our fill. Was it gourmet? Uh… no. Was it authentic, off the boat Italian? As other reviewers have said — not really. But, you know what? It was good. It was filling. It was prepared with pride. It was served with pride in work. And… the people working there wanted to make us feel like we had a good meal. For an out of the way place open well after dark, yeah, I’d go back — with the expectations that I’m in a small town with nice people.

Having just moved from NYC, to me this tasted like great, authentic New York pizza. The pizza was 10/10, happy medium between thick and thin crust. The sauce was maybe the best part, clearly a homemade and delicious sweet marinara. We sat down to eat as we were waiting out a rain storm. The bread they brought to the table was very dry, nothing special. The ravioli my fiancé ordered, which I tried, was very good. Baked with lots of cheese on top. Overall, though, the pizza is definitely the way to go. Great for dining in or dining out. Very attentive service and good prices!

Went there early in the week for dinner. Service and food were good. The pieces of blackened chicken were small and very blackened on the primavera and next time I will opt for plain old chicken breast. Also the wine and dessert menus on the table could use a wipe down. Otherwise, we have been here several times and have never been disappointed by the food or the service.

I guess«dissapointed» is probably the best way I can describe my family’s visit to Pomodoro. Starts off great(sarasm) when my wife is told she can not eat a kids pasta(although she does this everytime she goes to the Durham location) But what my wife was forced to get wasn’t all that great. Plus the Salad that was ordered to come before the meal, NEVERCAME. But the food was really not worth the $ 40.00’s we paid for 2 adults and a child. If I wanted to spend that type of money and for better food and service I would just go to Carrabbas or Olive Garden next time.
