Del Taco

Been here about 3 times and has always been a positive experience. The location is very small and I think in the summer time the lobby can get super hot sitting in the sun. I like the taco tuesdays and thursdays. Been a good, quick spot for me in the middle of nowhere.

Drive thru available. Clean restrooms. Friendly staff. A good place to stop for a quick bite when you’re on the road.

The power was out. So they were cash only. Obviously the bathroom light didn’t come on. But I know the people that own or work there can’t control the power.

Its your average del taco. I cant complain though. The food is like is supposed to be. The staff is friendly and eager to give their best customer service

I went to the Dell taco in Mecca and the food was good. The service was good and the Lady who took my order, I believe her name was Sonia was excellent. The only bad thing that I could find with the restaurant was the restrooms were filthy.

I’m a local and I can tell you this place sucks balls… you are better off buying from the gas station… service level it’s below standard tried to complaint to the owner which happens to be this Indian guy that owned the gas station too and I couldn’t get anywhere with him they still doing their filthy food… friend told me the owner begged city official for a license to operate I guess he forgot about that now!

It gets the job done when you are starving to death. Its obviously not a place to take a lady out on a first date, but its a perfect place to stop by when its 1 in the afternoon and its 120 degrees outside and your car is broken down by the side of the road. They have AC, food and cold drinks… oh yea and bathrooms too. So yea its pretty basic. Nothing fancy… just your average del taco.

I have stopped here, in this little piece of the hell hole in the California desert, 3 times over the past two years (JUST passing through obviously). Why, you may ask, I stopped here (being I give it one star) after my first experience? Because it is the only convenient place, to grab a quick bite from a chain that is normally decent, along the path leaving the Salton Sea after a day of fishing (you may be asking yourself why the heck would we be fishing there — the Tilapia fishing is outstanding). However, from now on I will wait until we get to Indio or grab some grub from the AM/​PM next door!
Our last visit was the final straw! On a weekday evening we waited a good 15 minutes in line (walk in) to place our order (no, it was not THAT crowded). After ordering I times it — 22 minutes before they called our order out!!! I can only attribute it to ineptness by the employees (and there were many of them back there), or an I-don’t-give-a-crap attitude about servicing their dine-​in customers!!! It was almost comical, after we obtained OUR «food», to watch all the other poor bastards piling up and waiting for their «food».
We did not so much as get an in-​genuine «sorry for your wait», let alone an extra cheap ass taco, cookie, or whatever for our complete inconvenience! So that tells me that not only do the line-​employees suck (at least the two we actually interacted with), but management too! As 2 of 3 reviewers pointed out — the place is dirty to boot! I almost left our wrappers and all at the table just because I was irritated, but then I would have been stooping to their level I suppose.
I don’t think I have ever left a review on a fast food joint, but I will this time (just to vent); not that I can picture anyone actually looking up a Unilocal review for Del Taco! LMAO! And… I will now have to leave one for a Del Taco that did it right. I will have to look it up, because it was on the border between Costa Mesa and Newport Beach — after another pleasant day of fishing out that away…
To make a long story short — DON’T DO IT!

Avg Del Taco menu. Convenient location on the highway. However the staff are inept and slow. Place is dirty and poorly kept. If you have a choice, skip this location.

Filthy and slow. I would guess they only clean the place and take out the garbage every other day at best. They take the «fast» out of fast food. This review is based off of a few visits over the last couple of years.

This is a typical Del Taco which is fortunately located in the middle of nowhere (in Mecca at the north end of the Salton Sea).
