I haven’t had BBQ this good, in this area, ever! Solid flavor in all of their meats. If you’re on some type of restricted diet, like I am, choose wisely, but don’t over do it… I got full just looking at the menu! Do yourself a favor and try them out. I might go there one of these weeks, or two and try everything on the menu…

I am a very big BBQ fan, so I was hesitant when I saw the commercial on television. I am giving this establishment a solid four stars because their bbq is pretty good. The ribs didn’t fall of the bone like advertised, but the smoky flavor was amazing. The meat was a bit chewy. Pulled pork was very moist but flavor was very mild. I noticed that we got the end of a bag so it is possible that more flavorful meet would could be had. Beef brisket was very good in texture and flavor. I only wish that the edges would have been more crisp. This is impossible because after they smoke it, The meat is stored in a plastic bag in a warming oven to keep the juices in. The sides were very good. And I love the free cone of ice cream when you are finished with the meal. I only wish they had more space for those that would like to sit and eat. Even for take out the space is tight.

Solid barbecue. It’s not all about the sauce, which is not my favorite. Having just moved here from Kansas City, home of some of the best BBQ, I had a craving for BBQ and decided to try this place. Is it the best I’ve ever had, no. But it’s also not the worst and I’d definitely be back. The fried okra was«on fleek» as some might say. It’s pretty awesome that they fry it when you arrive if you order online. The other sides were also good. A little disappointed that they don’t have sides like dirty rice or red beans and rice. And I didn’t notice any corn bread. For this style of restaurant, I definitely have some ideas of things to add to make it a little better. But it was good, ill be back. Thank you for a quick Sunday night dinner.

4 stars cause this is a good BBQ joint and there arent many on the west shore. We went for a sunday lunch. Kids eat free which is a major plus. Their menu is quite extensive and they have a pretty well thought out selection of sides. The prices are reasonable for the portions. I ordered the 2 meats. It came with two sides, a dinner roll, raw onions and pickles. I took a box home that was enough food for the husband and I to dine with later on. The service: It was good. They greet you upon entering. You make an order, you can see them cook it up and serve it and then you pay. Every employee acknowledged patrons. What was cool: They offer three warm bbq sauces(spicy, original, sweet) and soft serve ice cream in the back for free. Their soft drinks are served In cool reusable and personalizable cups which I thought was nifty. Overall: I haven’t seen any bbq joints around the silver springs and hampden township areas. So this will definatley be my go to bbq. Not that I will sing praises in its name since I have had better at a non chain establishment. I still think that it’s a nice option for this part of town. The cons: The only draw backs I saw was that it has very limited seating, also they cook their meats in a wood pit once a day, so when they sell out, that’s it. Also, my brisket was not hot, but warm. Still the flavor was good, so it was forgiven.

Gettysburg Frat party parents weekend BBQ for 100 was a great success ! Dickey’s delivered on time hot food with extras. They set up in a flash and the food was very good with plenty of left overs for Phi Delt boys. Nice job Dickey’s!

We got the meat for our wedding reception from Dickey’s. Paul was so very helpful and when we went to taste test, he gave us healthy sized portions of each meat we wanted to try. He sat with us and helped us figure out the right amounts of buy and all the other details. They didn’t even cater it(which they do, but we opted out). We picked up the meat, and they were so kind and helpful and made sure we were prepared and had everything we needed from a few gallons of bbq sauce to serving utensils. We ended up getting a couple dozen pounds of the smoked chicken and a couple dozen pounds of the chopped brisket and our guests absolutely LOVED all of it, many people wanted to have some of both. 5 stars for service and quality! We did have quite a bit of meat leftover, so we will be freezing some and eating on Dickey’s for the next couple months!

I do love good barbecue, and this is pretty far up there. If I was just rating the food, I would give it four stars. I had the beef and cheese tater, and it was gigantic – I could make three meals out of it. I loved the baked beans on the side. Plus, the sauces were great. My husband is a brisket connoisseur, and he loved it. However, the best thing about this place was the people – they are wonderful! We went in late on a Thursday night, and everyone was so kind and helpful. Great job and keep it up!

My first visit here and from the moment I walked in the door till I walked out, it was a great experience! The staff was very friendly and helpful! I ordered the full rack of ribs. They cut the ribs added extra sauce and when I sat down to eat them, they were fall off the bone ribs. Good flavor. The staff was taking care of customers consistently and cleaning as they were leaving and staying on top of keeping things stocked as well. I was even asked how I enjoyed the meal. The only minor issue I saw was in the men’s bathroom the ceiling had some dust on it and the one wall was a little dirty, but overall the toilet and sink were clean, the paper towels and soap were stocked as well. I will definitely be back again!

Ate here for the first time today. Not bad at all and reasonably priced. Definitely not the best BBQ I’ve ever had even this far North, but pretty solid. Sides were good. I had the 2 meat plate with pulled pork and brisket along with fries and coleslaw. Got all 3 sauces to go with it. Spicy was by far the best; not too much heat but just right. Meats were tender and cooked right but IMO not enough smoke or seasoning. Service was pretty quick during busy lunch crowd. Will definitely be going back.

Got hungry for bbq so I did a search. This place is the only one I found in the area. Which is ok cause it’s really good. I got the beef brisket and pulled pork as did my wife. My kids got beef and ham plates. Kids eat free on Sunday with purchase of an adult meal. Everything is excellent. And free ice cream and soda refills. I just became a regular

Ever since Doe & Jerry’s closed shop, we’ve been vainly searching for a replacement BBQ joint. Dickey’s may not match our memories of D&J, but it’s as close as we’ve come since. That might sound like faint praise, but if you were lucky enough to have eaten at Doe & Jerry’s, you’d know how sincerely complimentary that comparison is. It’s a small end unit in a strip mall, so seating can be an issue. Ordering is done Chipotle-style, moving past the stations as you fill in your main dish and the sides. The wait can be considerable. It’s all worth it in the end. We’ve had the brisket(chopped), the ribs, the pulled pork, and the sausage for our main courses, with beans, fries, and onion straws as sides. The sausage was good, the ribs were tasty, and the pork was decent, if a tad dry, but the brisket was superlative. The gentleman manning the carving stand carefully dressed a fresh brisket, slicing out the less savory fat in the middle, then painstakingly re-layering the cut with the smoky bits around the outside before preparing juicy cuts for the watching customers. He was friendly and took the time to explain the method to his apparent madness. Everyone rapturously devoured the brisket, but the fries were a hit with the kids too.

I will say that I was skeptical going into this place because it is a chain that originated in Dallas. Dallas is far removed geographically and mentally from the BBQ homeland of Texas which is in the Hill Country. As far as Central PABBQ goes, Dickeys is in the upper echelon simply by virtue of having more options than pulled pork. Make no mistake, that is not an endorsement. They do offer a full traditional BBQ menu with ribs, brisket, sausages, turkey and chicken. There is a sign on the counter claiming that they smoke all meats on site over hickory but I’m not sure I believe the claim. There are no visible wood piles or noticeable smoke aroma in or around the store. I ordered a 3 meat sampler with brisket, ribs and jalapeño cheddar sausage. I asked for the brisket moist and the server/meat cutter seemed confused. Yet another bullet in the authentic TXBBQ joint image. The meats did not have a noticeable smoky flavor. On the positive side, the ribs although bland were moist and tender. The other meats were dry. The sausage was pretty spicy but was not very temperature hot or even warm. Portions were generous and I took about half the brisket and most of the sausage home. My dog isn’t as picky as I am about BBQ. My advice is that if you find yourself in central PA and in serious need of some BBQ, make the drive to York and go to Mission BBQ rather than Dickeys.

3.5. We enjoyed the pulled pork. Having lived in Georgia where pulled pork is an institution, I would give Dickie’s good marks. Thought the price was a little high for what we received and their ordering process is a bit slow resulting in a line to the door the whole while we ate. They could also spend a little of that money on a needed refresh of the décor. But in the end, the pork was good.

Wow. Got to say this was some good BBQ. Had the pulled pork picnic meal. The texture and tast was really good. For a corperate company This is a real southern roadside BBQ experience. Its a small store with few seats. But the food… man. Really good BBQ. This place is child friendly. Sunday is free kids meals. They cater and the prices are good. The amount of food is a lot. The staff was super friendly and assisted when we asked. Definitely stop in, if your in the area. Impressed!

Not a bad deal. The daily specials are a plus, the fries are good but I wasn’t too impressed with the beans. Souvenir cups are a nice touch as well.

I hate to give the place a bad rep, but everyone there seemed so inexperienced, and that was hands down the worst pulled pork sandwich I’ve ever had. The Mac and cheese was ok but nothing special, and the potato salad was more like mashed potato salad. I was very disappointed especially since there are so many better BBQ places in the area. I won’t be back.
