My work had a holiday party here, and everything was wonderful! The group of 10 has our own private room, with a very attentive waiter. The room décor was set up perfectly for the season. We had a set menu for the group and I ordered the salmon with butternut squash purée over ravioli. It was excellent. The restaurant is set in charming area perfect for a walk after dinner and some shopping. This is defiantly a place I will return to for a date night or out with friends.

We ate here a few weeks ago on a Saturday for lunch. A complete disappointment. The person at the register offered very little input on menu items when we asked for details. Bottom line? WAYOVERPRICED for what you get. Even worse: the quality was akin to what we eat at home. Why pay many times over what it takes to make something that tastes better at home? Hubby got the Grilled Chicken Pesto on Focaccia for $ 9.25. The chicken was dry. The bread was spongy and dry. The sandwich was lacking in flavor. It was terrible. So much potential, so much disaster. I ordered a Greek salad with chicken for $ 9.95. It was nothing exciting. The chicken was also dry. Very little feta. Just a few olives. The dressing was almost tasteless. One of the kids got the«Signature» Chicken Pastina Soup. It reminded me of something you’d get out of a can. It, too, was bland. I can’t remember what my son got, but I do remember it was a pain to find something without cheese — I hate paying for something with cheese and not getting the cheese. I was so bummed by the experience. The place looks nice from the outside and I did enjoy walking down the block to check out the few stores in the same area. I really wanted to like the place; but, it’s just not worth it and the food was lackluster at best. I just thought of a good comparison. It’s like bad diner food with an inflated price tag.

Was at Sophia’s at Walden last night for dinner. The egg salad on olive bread sounded divine. Half way through the first half, I encountered a very long blond hair. I called the waitress over, and instead of offering me something else on the menu, she replaced the sandwich. Needless to say, the egg salad on olive bread didn’t sound too good. When the bill came, they had not removed the charge. I guess I should be glad they didn’t charge for the hair. I surely won’t be returning again. They need to work on the service recovery policy.

The food is decent and clean and it seems healthy as well. This place has great atmosphere, so on days with nice weather, don’t forget to give this place a try.

Love the freshness of the food, the take on homemade and sometimes hometown choices. Food nicely presented, just right portions and attention to satisfaction by owner and staff. Some personal favorites, egg salad on grilled olive bread, marinated roast beef sandwich, vegetarian sandwich all salads, chicken pastina soup, cheese cake, coconut cream pie, chocolate mousse cake, sticky buns, any of their burgers. And chicken Thai sandwich, amazing!

The friendliness and service at Sophia’s could not be any better. They greeted us right away, our waitress was very friendly, and very attentive, checking on us multiple times during our meal and when it started to rain outside, she came running outside when she saw us struggling to get the umbrella up at our table. Their staff also joked around with us, which we love! One of the employees was posing as a model in some of our pictures, on his own terms, which really made our morning. We love having a good time wherever we go. The more laughs, the better. We gave the food and drink quality a 4, just because of the vanilla latte not being the best. I’d also suggest to them to add a drink menu, as we love mimosas(even if BYOB), and trying different coffee drinks. Our brunch at Sophia’s cost us about $ 16.43 each, plus tip. We thought it was a little on the pricey side for Sunday Brunch, so we gave it a rating of 3.5 for the price vs. the value. The ambiance hit it out of the park. This place is cute. They took care of every single detail, like putting bird nests in the tress, and the color combo of the purple and green, with the stark black and white wall of the building all mix together so well. Overall, we gave Sophia’s a 4. I would definitely go back to this place, it’s a place I would take my parents for brunch, and I will definitely spread the word about the tiny community of Walden. It is something to experience.

One of the owners of the restaurant did give me a call to apologize about the event. She let me know that this wasn’t the first disappointing event that Cornelia handled and she is no longer the event planner there. Even though it was two months after the fact, I appreciated the outreach.

Food takes a long time but worth the wait. PLEASE do something about the flies! The flies were very annoying.

I do recommend this restaurant as something very good and different to try. I tried the Reuben, which was excellent, and the Greek pasta salad. My wife tried the Greek salad which was fresh and tasty but not the best we’ve tried. I’d give it 3.5 stars if I could.

This little place is an amazing little find! I’ve eaten at the other location before but didn’t even know this second spot opened!!! What an awesome atmosphere! Beautiful décor, plenty of seating, inside and out!!! Customer service is excellent! The food would stand alone without all the other things listed above! Impressive to say the least! My mom and I both had soup and sandwiches! The cream of mushroom soup is the best I’ve ever had! If I lived locally, I would be taking some home for sure!!! I got the roast beef & blue cheese on flat bread! Fresh, fresh, fresh!!! To die for! My mom got the egg salad sandwich on olive bread and said it was the best she’s ever had! We did get dessert, but are MUCH too full to eat it! Chocolate Mousse Cake and Fresh Strawberry Shortcake. The shortcake looks nothing less than amazing! Will be back for sure next time I’m home!!! Pictures to follow!!!

Nice setting, and comfortable. I was there for breakfast. It seems to be a place for ladies to meet for lunch. You self order at the counter then sit down. There is a good selection of cakes and things in the display case at the counter. The food was OK but nothing special. The food did not match up with the setting. I think the clientelle woudl appreciate something a little more creative, even for breakfast. A breakfast taco perhaps, or huevos rancheros, a frittata. This could be a place where patrons would like to have a french press cafeteria with fresh ground beans of your choosing. Lunch sandwiches looked interesting, I need to go back and try dinner and give them a second look.

Came here for brunch with my husband, kids, and my dad. Cute little place, and I was really looking forward to it. Server was very good and personable. She did accidentally drop a ramekin of syrup on my son. No big deal, accidents happen. It would’ve been a nice gesture to comp his meal(pancakes and bacon for $ 6.95) or offer a dessert, especially since we had made it known it was our first time there. Food overpriced. My husband had the open face filet that was amazing, the really good horseradish sauce made the dish. My dad had the Monte Cristo, which was your basic small sandwich. It was the same size as I would make at home. I guess I expected more for $ 12. I had the eggs Benedict with the chorizo sausage. The eggs were done really well but the sauce and sausage were really bland. It was also really small(especially for $ 14) and I left hungry. It bothers me that we could spend $ 64(before tip) for 3 adults and 2 kids(no alcohol) and leave hungry. I wouldn’t go out of my way to come here again.

I stopped in to this location for lunch on a Saturday and was pleasantly surprised. The color scheme is warm and inviting. I ordered the grilled turkey mozzarella sandwich. It had tender slices of turkey, large pieces of creamy mozzarella, pesto mayo, sprouts & roasted red pepper on grilled ciabatta. It was heaven on a bun! I got the red pasta salad as my side. The salad had a nice, light marinara sauce with diced red onion & bell peppers. My friend got the potato salad, which was also made in house and so good! We stayed from 2 – 430 and no one rushed us. I’d like to go back for dinner sometime. It’s byob, too.

Higher prices than most restaurants in the area, and I’m not sure the food is better quality… You pay for the ambiance and convenience(if you live here in Walden). Sometimes the quality of the food varies too. We’ve had great meals and gone back a few weeks later, ordered near the same thing, and it was mediocre. I was really disappointed when inquiring for the banquet space. It took forever for someone to get back(had to call 3 times and then corner the owner) to me and when they did, the prices were absolutely insane. Maybe it would work for a corporate function, but charging for tap water and a cake cutting fee for a two-year-olds birthday party that lives in the community? No thanks.

I read about the tree lighting at Walden and decided to take a stroll with my children. So happy I did. Walden is a little slice of heaven. And Sophia’s is the perfect place for a lovely winter dinner while enjoying an evening out with family. The prices were a tad higher than what I expected. But the food was good, not spectacular.

Have been here twice. The first time we dined indoors. I was confused by the baked goods sitting around packaged for carryout, the walk-up counter and blackboard menu that they use at lunchtime. Once seated and with a menu in my hand, I found a nice variety of gourmet dishes at a reasonable price. Our second visit we dined outdoors. The planned community of Walden is not fully populated so the outdoor dining is still very quiet without a lot of cars going by. I had the Braised Short Rib ravioli special, which was one of the best things I’ve ever eaten. Again, everyone at my table enjoyed their meals and found their prices to be reasonable. The server assumed that one check was okay, which caused a bit of a scramble when it was time to pay. They cannot accommodate a party larger than four for outdoor seating, but that doesn’t stop them from trying, which seems foolish: I hated to see large parties crammed onto tiny four-tops, but I supposed that’s between Sophia and those customers. Someone commented on the small portion sizes: We found the portion sizes to be adequate, but we did not have leftovers. I would not like to see the portion size to go bigger, for that would be a waste and I’m sure the cost of that waste would be passed along to the diners. Terrific flavors, moderate prices, pleasant atmosphere and good service should read as a recipe for success!

One of my mom’s and my favorite places to grab a quick healthy, delicious bite! The atmosphere is great, the food is amazing. My mom’s favorite is the grilled chicken sandwich on a whole wheat bun with a peanut sauce. I love checking out their day specials whenever I go. I loved their burger with applewood bacon, homemade BBQ glaze, and the cheese I can’t remember but it was delicious! It can get pretty packed so be ready to wait for a table but the food it worth it and once the outside seating is up there will be plenty for all. They do breakfast, lunch, Dinner, and brunch on Sundays. If you love healthy, delicious food this is definitely the place to be.
