special thanks to Jeff for saving my butt when my sons outdoor party was rained out at the last minute

A nice, clean bowling alley — bowing and arcade is decent. Food is pretty average — based on the few birthday parties I’ve attended.

SUCH good memories of this place as a kid!!! We always had a blast and were treated kindly. Looking back over my years of various bowling alleys, this one was rather clean and well-priced.

Ah, the lure of interesting marketing techniques. My kids were driving me nuts one day and the forecast for the next day was in the 90s. What to do. .. what to do. .. what to do. .. to get them the h-e-double-hockey-sticks out of the house without breaking the bank. Plus, I wanted to do something with a friend who has a little girl in the same basic age range. Light bulb goes off. .. let’s go bowling. I called Trindle Bowling and they said they opened at 10:00 and that kids bowled for free on weekdays. HUNH??? Free!!! I was so excited. The only condition is that they only get one free game per day and that adults need to pay if they want to play. No problem. That works for me. We met my friend and her daughter there right as they opened. They take the 10:00 opening seriously, we were standing out there in the heat baking in the sun reflecting off of the glass doors. We go in, the kids also get free shoe rental because their feet are under a certain size, and we get our lane. The kids grab the light-weight balls, learn about how to use a ramp, the woman at the front counter already raised the metal contraption that blocks off the gutters, and we were ready to bowl. Granted, three young kids(2 – 4 years old) don’t bowl that quickly(I thought some of the balls would never make it to the end), but the game went quickly. The one free game was just enough before they started to lose interest and get distracted. So now, when the kids are driving me CRAZY and the weather is hot, we head over for our free shoes and free game. Now that they’re getting the hang of bowling, I’m going to break down and play with them(even though I have to pay). Shouldn’t they have a special chaperon rate??? ;) Unlike when I was their age, i.e., 30+ years ago, everything is electronic. Once you figure out how to enter names the system does everything for you. Which makes it easy for parents that don’t have to keep track of how many pins, etc. The kids can just do their thing. The electronic system even has themes. My kids loved the animated dancing animals when they did well or changed bowlers.
