Items are consistently out of stock, the layout is BIZARRE and completely illogical, and prices are just meh. When I lived in Mechanicsville I had better luck at the small store on Rt 360, but that’s about to be moved and turned into a huge Marketplace like this one on Rt 301, and now that I live in Ashland, it’s too far to go anyway. If you’re right around the corner and are feeling lucky, give this store a try. Fortunately, there’s a Food Lion two minutes away that’ll have just about everything Kroger is out of.

Feeling grumpy… our Kroger remodeled a year ago and I still can’t find anything… I have no interest in buying clothing, shoes, small appliances or jewelry when I am running in for a gallon of milk. The saving grace is the store manager and his staff — they are super nice and helpful. Looking for cake mixes. There is a sign on aisle 31 that says«cake mix» don’t let it fool you… Cake mixes are on the next aisle over with a sign that says«baking mixes…» Looking for Oatmeal and cream of wheat? Don’t go to the cereal section — who knew hot cereal is now considered either granola or crackers… Do you want sparkling water? Perrier and San Pellegrino is near the soft drinks… Want seltzer water? Plain seltzer water in the juice section, flavored seltzer is on the sports drink section and club soda is in the mixers section by the wine… I am Still looking for Jello mix I am guessing it is near the fruit roll-ups or Pet food. What an awful waste of time 2 round trips through the store and I am Still searching… Really annoyed… Today — I left and finished shopping at a food lion. I want to shop at Kroger regularly but am a busy mom and don’t want to spend 45 minutes picking up milk, coke, Peanuts and shampoo. Last week I spent 15 minutes finding out where the salted peanuts are kept now(produce by the nuts? Baking section? Near the crackers? In the back corner or near the front by the football stuff?) Once that oddesy was over I– I tracked back to the Coke section only to realize that I forgot to get milk in the dairy section then back to the health food section to get Organic milk since it is kept somewhere else and then back To pharmacy to get shampoo. I miss the old Kroger when you went to the coffee and tea section and could find the tea you wanted instead of guessing which section is tea kept in now? With this said, i will be back in 8 weeks — hoping things get better — too bad — I used to shop there 1 or 2 times a week. I realized that I have been letting my fuel points expire because I get stressed out even thinking about shopping there.

I love the organic selection, the Boar’s Head deli, the Starbucks and the expansive varieties available. I’m also a fan of the clean and organized store and the reasonable prices. I am not a fan of the staggered aisles or the ‘retail’ addition to the store. IMHO, Whole Foods still takes the cake, but also my entire paycheck, so Kroger is my go to grocery store for everyday shopping!

Awesome! I missed Kroger a lot. Their organic vegetables and fruits and wine prices are pretty good. Also gas is cheap. This store is massive like Costco and clean. The cashier lady is pretty friendly and kind. I’ll come back here again with a big cooler.

In Richmond, Kroger is as good as it gets. After the demise of Ukrops, and epic fail of subsequent Martins Kroger stepped up its game and it is showing. Selection of organic vegetables is so good that my wife never has to make the long trek to the Whole Foods AND Kroger’s pricing is cheaper. I’m a huge fan of self checkout and at busy times this Kroger has 12 self checkout registers open.

On the plus side they have a huge selection. I have always found the produce and meats to be fresh and of good quality. I am very pleased with the additional selections that the recent expansion to a marketplace has provided. The Starbucks is a great addition, but they need to work on getting faster. On the downside they need more carts, the aisles are crowded, the expansion has caused them to move the Pharmacy way to the other side in an inconvenient location. The staff is also not particularly helpful or friendly.

Great grocery store turned marketplace. We have groceries, clothes, shoes, bed and bath stuff as well as kitchen gear as well. All for great prices. Come in for discounts on clothes-70% off select items. Shoes are usually on sale. Download coupons to ur card from the Kroger app for extra discounts. We love our customers and we will give the best customer service around-well most of the cashiers will at least. If you want awesome service come see me evenings after 7 during the week or morning and afternoon shifts mostly on the weekends. Come see us.

Newly expanded store makes it hard to find what you are looking for. Starbucks folks need more training. Be sure to use the deli preorder machine if you want to get served quickly. Not my favorite store. Why didn’t I just go to short pump?

Liked it better before the expansion. If I wanted a huge selection of everything I would just go to Walmart. Now doing the majority of my shopping at Food Lion.

Large Kroger store, with a very busy gas pump island set, out front. Currently being remodeled into a Kroger Marketplace. Well laid out, brightly lit store.

I’m not really a big fan of the recent remodeling but the thing that keeps me coming back is the customer service. When Ukrops sold off their business it created an opportunity for other grocery stores to step their game up and claim supremacy. Kroger did just that and it definitely is noticeable. No matter which Kroger I go into the employees are always helpful and friendly. Prices aren’t too bad and the selection is fairly decent. I grew up shopping at Food Lion and Walmart but I’m addicted to Kroger now

Very bad experience. Very busy and can’t find anything. Really really really busy. Was in a grid lock at one point. Took cashier 20 minutes to check out 5 items. Would rather just go to food lion. Thought i was in a nascar race

Great place, easy to find your stuff. Good hot food and salad bar. Meat selection is sometimes a little thin.
