Zheng Chinese Restaurant

Food is good, service is kind of so-​so. They just don’t seem to have enough staffing, but their staff is nice! It’s close to my boyfriends house and it’s one the nicer Chinese restaurants in the area.
From the outside it looks a bit out of place, it doesn’t seem to get a lot of people either, but it’s got a nice atmosphere inside for a date.

Good Chinese for cheap. Not the best I’ve ever had but good eats though. Fast lunch idea or good for dinner. Never eaten in the restaurant or gotten take out but just had delivery. I like their egg rolls and crab Rangoon.

I have never had problems with the restaurant, I loved their food and actually only ordered from here. But I don’t know what happened my family ordered food one night. Waited two hours nothing we tried calling and it wouldn’t go through and no one would answer. Getting fed up because they already took money out of my dads account I drove over to the place. Still having the open sign up I walked in just to be immediately told to leave and that they weren’t accepting anyone else. I tried to tell them what happened she wouldn’t even listen to me. I left walking out to my car I saw a man walk in I flagged him down and told him. He told the lady that was telling me to shoo what happened she called the host to explain to me that the would cancel. They were very rude, and my dad went by the next day to make sure they canceled the order they got defensive and said that they weren’t rude or tried to get me to leave. I dont know what happened but I will not be returning to this location.

Our go to place for Chinese takeout. They spice it as you request, and everything always tastes fresh. They veggies are crisp, the meats are tender. Love the spring rolls and crab rangoons! Usually ready in 30 minutes or less.

I’ve had better Chinese at places nearby and the service was abysmal; we waited over 45 min for takeout… go next door to Kroger and grab a frozen meal: it will be better and be faster.

DELICIOUS FOOD GREAT ATMOSPHERE RESPECTFUL STAFF CLEAN FAMILY FRIENDLY RARE DELIGHT! This is the best Chinese restaurant in Hanover County! They are so friendly! I wish more people would realize how wonderful this restaurant is. So clean! They play relaxing music!!! If you get anything spicy, it will be SPICY! I suggest the Schezuan (ANYTHING!!) LOVE LOVE LOVE

OK, let me just start by saying that I was in late on a Sunday night, right before they closed, so some of my complaints may be a product of that.
The Good:
People were friendly, and we had a nice chat while I waited for my take out.
Portions were generous.
Prices weren’t bad.
The Bad (that might be my fault):
The wait was LONG, like weirdly unreasonably long, after seeing the waiter and the hostess leave immediately after me, I have to assume that the wait was due to the kitchen having more-​or-​less already closed. I wish they would have just told me that, and I would have run next door to Kroger to pick something up for dinner.
The Bad (that is not-​my-​fault):
The Crab Rangoon is «Krab» — unacceptable. Tasted funky, worst I have ever had, ever.
None of the food was very good, at all. Mediocre at best, totally inedible at worst.
What we ordered: Crab Rangoon, Fried Dumplings, Shrimp lo mein, chicken fried rice.

The service was bad. First of all, they messed up our order and the person waiting on us was not even apologetic. The food as immensely salty and not good. Will not come back.

I thought the food was tasty, nothing exceptional but really, how many restaurants do you know that are five stars?!!
I had the kung pao chicken and it was good. The lunch special is nice as they give you soup, entrée, fried rice (or white rice if you prefer) for low price of $ 5.99. Pretty good deal. Also the place is nicely decorated and clean and the service is good.
If you have craving for Chinese, I would recommend this place.

Good place. Simple, plain, fast, courteous and tasty. The wonton is noticeably better than the usual bouillon cube variety.

I’ll agree with the first post… nothing exceptional, but if you like Chinese and want some at a good quality, cooked well, and with excellent service make this your choice. I’m revamping this old post because I stated before that the food is cooked perfectly and I’ve never had a problem.
After going late on one of their slow days (it was 9:40 on a Wednesday night) my food wasn’t ready when I arrived — after I called in — and no one so much as apologized or asked whether or not I would mind waiting. When I did finally get my food (after 15 minutes), the donuts were not cooked all the way through. After sending them back so I could GO HOME, I wasn’t so much as reimbursed for the inconvenience.
Their food is still good, and I’m still a fan, but be leery of going somewhat late in the evening on a week night.

I am very picky about where I will eat Chinese food. I decided to try this place because at the time I was living right around the corner. We opted to eat there. It’s either that or take out as they do not deliver. (Bummer!) The first thing I noticed is the place is very clean and formal like. The service is almost too good. Like I felt like our waiter was there watching and waiting for us to need something. My boyfriend and I both got the wonton soup. It was the best I have ever had. We shared an entrée. It was delicious also. Everything was very fresh and properly cooked. I also felt the prices were great. This has now become one of my two favorite Chinese restaurants. I have eaten here a total of 3 times and each time was better than the last.
