I stayed here, it was one of the cheapest rates in town that night. It was OK. Sheets were clean Coffee pot was not. Staff was friendly, but encroached on my privacy, after I said I was by myself, and would not be having guests, after not wanting/needing to supply her a name for a guest. was ok for $ 60, wouldn’t try again.

They are upgrading! Micro and fridge and coffee pot in room, free breakfast. A great value for the money.

The former Medford Inn has reopened as the Econo Lodge. I’ve stayed there before but under the new ownership things have improved mightily. The door keys now work among other things. The rooms have been refurbished and are in excellent shape. The motel is in an excellent location and the staff is very friendly. I’ll stay there next time I visit Medford.

We had booked a hotel in Roseburg on our way back from Portland to the Bay Area, and decided to cancel it in favor of driving down closer to home. We settled on Ashland/Medford area and consulted to find a room. Econo Lodge was just about the cheapest, so we decided to stay there. However, to be safe, we chose to wait until arriving to book, in case the booking site wasn’t the cheapest option(AAA might have saved us a few bucks). We show up to book and ask for a non-smoking queen room. She says there are only smoking queen rooms. I show her that has 6 rooms available at a cheaper price than her quote. She tells me to book it through them because they have different and sometimes better options. So I figure, maybe they allocate a number of rooms to certain websites to sell at a discount or something. Whatever, she’s the expert. I book it in front of her and show it to her. She prints it out a minute later and says, yeah, NO, we only have a two queen smoking room or I can add $ 25 to your cost and give you a king non-smoking. UMM. You just said to book it. What the… So, quietly frustrated, I explain to her what just happened on my end, and that we shouldn’t have to pay more for a room. She explains that since they have the smoking room, they have to give me that or upsell me. If there were only king rooms, they could do it for the same price. We go back and forth, and I eventually say, «You know, it’s fine. We will take a refund and go somewhere reasonable.» She tells me I’ll have to call the booking site and have them cancel the reservation. THEN I spend about 20 minutes, MOST of which on hold, with support, who called the hotel front desk to cancel for me. My gf and I were fairly certain we could see her delaying the call out of spite. I stood around outside a while and then went in the lobby to make sure she knew I was still on the phone. She picked the phone up again and was done in a minute, but somehow never called me back up to update me. I finally go up to ask and she says, «Oh yeah, I cancelled it like 10 min ago and the guy hung up after. I was just talking to our manager and now we have closed the books for the night, so no rooms are open, sorry.» She wanted to try to sound apologetic and fake, but I just made sure we didn’t get charged and left. NOTE: It was made clear to me(by her and the next place we talked to) that these smaller motels are not accurate with and other sites, and thus become overbooked. They don’t know what to do about it, and have to call the site to tell them each day when a type of room is closed for the night. BUT, I am mad that she could not have given me a room ATALL. There were rooms, but rather than losing $ 25 to make us happy, she implied that my allergies were not a valid reason to not accept the room she offered, and didn’t bring a manager up to help either. The place down the road had the same overbooked issue, but gave me a $ 90 room at their sister hotel for about $ 60 and were super nice about it! BADCUSTOMERSERVICE. Will never try them again.

We stayed the night here. At the time of writing, the place is 9 months under new management and was formerly the Medford Inn. It is in great shape, clean, and the price was unbeatable. We got a room for only $ 60 and they had the usual continental breakfast(juice, bread, coffee and yogurt) included. The bed seemed brand new and was quite comfortable and the shower had amazing pressure and could get quite hot. They will have rooms with private four-person jacuzzis, although they were still finishing them when we arrived.
