Highly disappointed… The first time I went in I was buffing out a game. They buffed it for free so I though the place was going to be a good one I was mistaken. I went in today to buff out a game and I looked at the web site to see what time they close and they close at seven. I got there at 4:58 on a Sunday and there was a piece of paper on the door saying«we are closing at five» they never updated there site so I was very disappointed to make the trip for nothing. There was a guy at the counter and I waited outside and he just looked at me then went back to his phone it would have taken two minutes of his life just to buff my game but he ignored me. NOTRECOMMENDED. FINDANOTHERGAMESTORE.

I’ve been to this location several times, and I’ve yet to have a bad experience. The staff are pretty knowledgable and offer to help whenever needed. I’m a big fan of older consoles/games and to my surprise, they regularly stock many of them, such as NES, SNES, Sega, etc. including hard to find accessories. The prices are on par with Internet pricing, maybe a bit more for the convenience. I have an extensive collection of SNES games and I was in need of cartridge protectors. I randomly decided to give them a call and to my delight, they had quite a few and gave them to me free of charge. I would recommend this place to anyone who appreciates new and old games at fair prices. I’ll definitely be returning.

Someone help this store manager. She has crying fits in front of customers,(last friday) anger issues, rude to customers, unorganized, and walks out when frustrated leaving her employees to fix problems.

I absolutely love this place! They have everything from old school to new school and everything in between. I recently went in there and saw this weird game system called the Retron 5 which plays NESSNESSEGAGBGBA&FAMICOM. It comes with a BLUETOOTH controller which is awesome so no more batteries plus it has ports for the original controllers. Best thing is no matter what it saves your games! So no more leaving the game system on all night to finish up that game that would never save on the original game system. So since I wanted to make room the girl suggested to me to trade in my game systems(which I got a lot of $ for) and buy this system. I was a little worried about giving up my systems but boy was I glad I did! This thing is awesome and I’m sooooo happy with it! I am constantly recommending Game Star to my fellow gamers and anyone who can’t quite find that special game they been looking for because if they don’t have it they will order it for you. Plus they give 10% off of everything if you have their business card which they have stacks of at their counter. I LOVETHISPLACE! Game stop seriously has NOTHING on them!

A lot of people seem to hate on this place because the prices are too high. I think there hit and miss to be honest. I’m a retro collector and I seem to find some prices equal to the«high» prices on eBay and others way way cheap. That being said it is a retail store so expect retail prices, most of which are fair for rare games. I don’t mind paying a little more to know that I’m getting a game that’s clean and in working condition instead of one on eBay that looks great in the picture but like Afghanistan when I get it in the mail. Plus is always nice to be able to make a return if it doesn’t work. One thing I really like is the trade values there. I find that there in store credit options are way better than any other second hand store, pawn shop, or GameStop. I always seem to get way more than I thought. Example: 10 dollars for Tomb Raider on the Xbox One at GameStop, 5 at pawn shops, 45 at GameStar. Not bad. As for the employees, I can say they seem a little understaffed and busy. I always do business with the manager Jessica, who always goes above and beyond to help me out. She’s called around the valley to find games for me in particular. As for the other employees, I cant say. If you do go there just ask for her, she’ll take care of you. Also, because there understaffed just be patient if you have to wait or go at a time that you have 10 minutes. Honestly, I’d rather wait 10 minutes than have some self vindicating nerd at another store try to pick a fight with me over which next gen system is better. All and all, it’s not a bad store and one of two store in Medford that sells a wide assortment of retro games and systems. I like it pretty well for what it is.

Lousy selection and hugely overpriced. Newer games can be bought elsewhere for half the price. How is this place still in business? Employees are rude and completely incompetent. Stay away.

Overpriced games. Incompetent employees. Stood in line for 15 minutes, ended up just setting down the items and leaving. $ 60 for a Gamecube game? Get over yourselves.

Great service this time compared to last. Staff was helpful and experience was worth the wait in a very busy store. Traded in some games and was surprised at some of the values both good and bad. Trades in equal in store credit. Looks like they take in all types and all ages of games, a lot of old school stuff.

Thought this was an interesting location for a game store so I decided to duck in once just to peek around, and another time to pick up a thing or two. One of the allures of this place is that they still carry the«vintage» games that most other game stores around here quit selling, however, if you’re looking for anything popular or well-known, the prices are absolutely ridiculous. I thought I was actually in luck when I spotted a Game Boy Advance game in an intact(albeit crushed) box that was clearly marked $ 17.99 on the shelf right behind the counter. When I told the clerk I was interested, she then told me it was marked with the wrong price, and it was actually around $ 40, then absolutely refused to sell it for the marked price. So much for striving for customer satisfaction, especially when the game could still be bought on ebay for about the same as the lower price. I think from here on out I’ll be sticking to the internet and Gamestop(as much as I dislike them) until we can finally get another decent game store in the valley.
