Hear me now! Deliciousness comes rolled up in a Jalapeño’s burrito. Yeah, there are nay-sayers out there, but they might have just been born with a poor palette… oh, sorry for you… really! These are amazing burritos – I“ve been eating them for years in Klamath Falls, and was delighted when they opened here. The veggie burrito is especially jazzy if you add sour cream and potatoes. LOVE the salsa bar, which is always clean and fresh, and the carrots/jalapenos that are in vinegar are spicy and delicious. Horchata is perfectly spiced and unlimited free refills. Oh, and they have a frequent buyers club – on already excellent value priced meals. The tortillas are large and typically grilled – they also seem very fresh and local. Super friendly staff, and a convenient location outside of the hustle and bustle of Medford– you can see that it is mostly working folks dropping in here while on the job for lunch and so forth. A draw back is that it is in a gas station, and while it really doesn’t matter, the bathroom is shared with the gas station(you have to go into the station section to use it) and you know what that means… solution? Don’t use the bathroom! Don’t listen to the bums who are haters of this place – it’s an amazing burrito – if you can dig the style in which it is made.

Excellent food every time. Great selection so you can try something new every time you come. Big portions leave me with lunch the next day.

First, What is with the tortillas??? They are so strange. Almost dough like but then hard at the same time. I don’t get it. I used to frequent Muchas Gracias in this location and was glad to see this place open up. Now, when it comes to Mexican food I rarely have a less than okay experience. I tried this place three different times really wanting to like it. I do not eat meat so I had them make me a breakfast burrito with egg, cheese, beans and potatoes(something I order often other places). The potatoes where so greasy it made the texture of the burrito unbearable like greasy bean potato mush plus again… WHATISWITHTHETORTILLA??? The next time I thought maybe the potatoes just suck and everything else would be okay so I go their vegetarian burrito. Gross. I can’t even put my finger on it. It was everything about it, over all flavor… etc… Last time I just got beans and cheese… still a nope the bad tortilla kills all. Also the salsa bar LOOKS exciting and as someone who likes salsa and spicy thing I was surprised to find I did not like ANY of the salsas in the bar…

I was leery of eating at a place connected to a gas station. But I love this place! Meticulously clean and genuinely friendly staff. Huge portions for good prices. Most of the menu is average quality but they have the best fish tacos I ever had.

One problem about living your whole life in one area is that you judge restaurants by local standards and not in a broader perspective. I’ve lived in Jackson county for less than 6 months. In that time, I am almost appalled by what long-time residents consider a restaurant worth a 5 star Unilocal review. I spent most of the past 45 years living in the S.F. Bay Area, where good taquerias are plentiful. Sadly, I have not found that to be the case hereabouts. Jalapeños Taco Shop got enough good reviews for me to give it a try. To those reviewers who gave it glowing reviews, is this really what you consider to be a 5 star taqueria? As Jed Clampett would say, pitiful. I got a Chile Colorado burrito. The meat and sauce were good enough. The salsas from the condiment bar were good also. The flour tortilla was something else entirely. It was thin and flaky, similar to the paper-like covering of garlic. Worse was the smell. It had an odd unpleasant odor, almost like cleaning liquid. Another problem was the filling. Most good taquerias make burritos containing salsa, guacamole, beans, sour cream, cheese, rice. With one exception, the burritos I’ve had locally(5 so far) contained rice and meat only. I guess it could be worse, they could offer a Mar Far Chicken burrito. Oh the horror, oh the humanity! Once again, a Jackson county restaurant falls short of being considered fairly good. I feel sorry for those who think such places are good or better.

Pretty awful guacamole. Also, the rolled tacos have so little chicken it’s just a rolled tortilla. I’ve heard the burritos are great. I guess I should have ordered one of those. I wouldn’t eat here again or recommend it.

My favorite place for fast authentic Mexican food. The Jalapeño Special burrito is great. Bean burritos are plain but they make up for it everywhere else! Has a great little condiment bar too.

Cheap and decent… Better than you would think considering its attached to a gas station… The salsa bar is a nice touch… Its a great grab-n-go place that you wouldn’t take a date to…

Dude. This place is so close to my house and I finally got food from here. Ridiculously good! I ordered the chorizo breakfast burrito, the tortilla is from scratch, flavor is delicious, service fast and very friendly. Two meals worth for $ 6. May return for dinner.

I had the basic Mexican style tacos – soft corn tortilla, steak and cilantro. Very nicely done at a good price. The salsa bar is good, with several types to choose from, and the service is friendly and helpful. Will go back soon.

I have eaten here on different occasions and food is pretty good. I took my sister there for lunch and we both ordered fish tacos. I am Mexican and these were not fish tacos. They were fish sticks wrapped in a tortilla with tarter sauce. Tarter Sauce! Mexicans don’t use tarter sauce. We didn’t even finish our meal, it was pretty unsatisfying. Everything else is ok, no fish tacos ever for me from this place.

I just tried Jalapenos based on the favorable reviews here. I had to confirm that I had eaten at the same place. My first tip: Don’t use the restroom if you want to keep your appetite. I ordered a shrimp burrito with chipotle sauce and sour cream. It was all good except the shrimp, which was just past its«best used by…» date. It was a little disappointing, but that’s not uncommon when ordering shrimp from a fast food place. I’d give the food 3 stars, and would otherwise be willing to try a different dish. What cost another star and will keep me away was the condition of the restroom. I suppose they sweep and mop often enough, but the fixtures were filthy, with the kind of caked-on crud that reveals weeks and months without a proper scrubbing. Come on, staff… squirting something in the urinal and flushing is not the same as getting it clean. This isn’t a case of someone trashing the room earlier in the day, this is long-term neglect. Ugh! Maybe the kitchen is cleaner, but I don’t want to think about it.

Been to jalapeños 4 or 5 times now and I honestly have to say it’s one of the better burrito places I’ve ever been. The California burrito is my favorite so far. They make their own sauces every day and they’re all very good.

Jalapenos is new to Medford but like other reviewers noted, the original location is in Klamath Falls. My husband took me here for lunch recently and we both loved it. I think this place is better in terms of taste and quality AND price than Chipotle, its obvious competition. They are very similar in terms of the menu except Jalapenos is way more extensive. I got the Jalapeño Special burrito with a side of their deep friend potato slices(not sure what they are called on the menu but they are awesome!). The burrito was large, just like at any burrito place, and it was truly delicious. They have a salsa bar and giardiniera, all of it delicious. This place is weirdly attached to a gas station. Don’t let that dissuade you from trying it. I highly recommend it for a great cheap lunch spot. Quick service and fairly empty so go now before people start catching on and the line forms out the door.

The food was good, portions were huge. The food is kind of salty though. My only real problem was the restaurant was really dirty. There were crumbs on every table and a ton of trash around the salsa bar.

This mexican restaurant was established in 2004 in Klamath Falls, OR and recently opened shop in Medford attached to a Valero Gas Station on the corner of East South Stage Road and South Pacific Hwy. The burritos are amazing and huge. I’m a big eater and can easily get 2 meals out of a Jalapeños burrito. My favorites are the Cody Special with shrimp, chile relleno, rice & cheese and the Chris Special with eggs, potatoes, ham & chorizo. I call in my burrito order weekly and it’s always read when I arrive. They have a chilled salsa bar and I always go with the verde. BESTBURRITOINTHEVALLEY&ONLY $ 5.95!

This is the first place in the valley that I’ve gotten a great burrito, I really don’t know why I waited so long to try it. The food I ordered(as well as my brothers) was the closest to real food from a taqueria in the SF Bay Area that I’ve gotten up here. I’ve had food from Fiesta which is okay, La Tapatia has great tacos but their burritos and some of their other fair is meh. Definitely try this place out, it definitely gives you the best bang for your buck.

Had one of the best authentic burritos at Jalapeños! Their salsa bar is fresh and delicious and the portions are very large and extremely reasonably priced. I am excited to return to Jalapeños to try some other options. I had the Jalapeños Special. Highly recommend for quick, authentic, and delicious Mexican food!
