Wow, I’m genuinely shocked by the negative reviews(and I don’t understand why someone would be a camper there for 4 years, and an employee for 9, if it was so utterly awful?). We were blown away by the camp when we first visited — the camp itself is stunning: multiple pools, lake, shady trees everywhere, etc. My son loves it there and couldn’t be happier at camp. His favorite things are gaga and Color Wars. He says he wants to keep going back every summer until he can be a counselor there.

Utterly awful. As a camper of 4 years and an employee of 9, I cannot honestly tell you steer clear of this literal(rat and roach infested) shithole. Food was always awful, the cooking staff always hired the worst kids to work the kitchen and the only time it was clean was the one day the health inspectors came to check everything out. The Camp Directors are the most ruthless, cuthroat people i have ever met. Pools were always dirty, the lake has a septic leak and we(the lifeguards) would get infections in our feet on a yearly basis. I can go on and on about the sheer attrocities I’ve seen. Send your children someplace better.

I loved this place when I was a kid. I was there for about 12 years and worked as a lifeguard for about 4 years after. Outdoor sports, activities, swimming, boating, arts and crafts, and lasting friendships. I’m now 30 with a child of my own and hope to find a camp just like it out here in Los Angeles(which is highly unlikely)…:(I may just have to see if she wants to live with grandmom for the summer, so she can go to camp. :)
