If you’re looking for a classic diner vibe in Medford — this is the place. Inexpensive and cozy, it’s the perfect spot to grab breakfast(they serve it all day!) and catch up on the local gossip. If you’re on your way through town, you barely have to pull off of Hwy 13 to get into the parking lot of the Medford Café! If you’re staying at the hotel next door, you barely have to roll out of bed to get a meal. The menu is pretty standard, and covers all the basics, nothing too fancy. Breakfast is spot on, but they have some delicious lunch/dinner options as well(my ma swears by the smothered chicken breast). Servers are always friendly and game for a chat — usually very prompt as well. And it may sound strange — but I’ve also always enjoyed the fact that there is a lot of natural light in the place. It makes breakfast time all the more sunny. A staple in small town dining. Enjoy.

Breakfast menu was adequate. Enjoyed strawberry topped pancakes. Delicious! Farmers breakfast was usual scramble with cheese ham. Taste was good but nothing spectacular. The atmosphere was homey. Service was good.

On a cold, –10 degree day in Wisconsin, there is no better comfort food than scrambled eggs and hashbrowns, smothered in sausage gravy. While It’s not on the menu at Medford Café… they were happy to oblige my request by adding gravy to their farmer’s breakfast of eggs, potatoes, onions, green peppers and cheese. It was heaven and exactly what I needed after being stranded in Medford while I waited for my car to be serviced. The café offers free wifi and specialty coffee drinks in addition to a bottomless carafe ‘coffee’. The Medford café offers a small menu that includes breakfast all day — including biscuits and gravy(which may not appear on the afternoon menu). It also includes some unexpected items such as bourbon chicken and carrot cake bread pudding. I’m most intruiged by their offering of ‘liver & onions’ which I expect is good to retain its place on the menu. Service is friendly with newcomers and plenty of regulars. If you want to experience the best ‘hometown feel’ that Medford has to offer, this is a great place to stop for breakfast or lunch.

I enjoyed the food… especially the carmel apple bread pudding… I’ll be going back here for primary/filling meals while I’m staying here in Medford. Easy access to the AmericInn which is virtually the same parking lot. Lots of «daily specials» variety too. Reasonable pricing, and the wait staff is attentive…

Updating this review because it has changed a lot in the last few years. The menu never stays the same. I usually get a burger n fries but honestly McD’s has a better burger these days and for cheaper. Go back to the real buns, the real fries and the real meat.

I had both dinner and breakfast at this café right next door to the AmericInn. It’s a solid choice – broasted chicken was fresh, hot and crispy, if maybe a bit salty. The hash browns were homemade, and perfectly crispy/chewy. My waitress forgot about my order of deep fried cheese curds, which i took to be a sign that I shouldn’t have them. Breakfast was standard – eggs, sausage, pancakes. The pancakes were fine, but not stellar. Both meals were(as we say in Oakland) hella cheap. I’d go back.

Really good breakfast within a very short walk across the parking lot from AmericInn. Coffee carafe left on the table ensures instant access to easy refills. Hearty home cooked breakfasts. Ate here for three breakfast meals while in town for business. Great service getting what you need very quickly.

I’m from Medford and have many fond memories of hanging out drinking coffee and making a mess with my friends when I was in high school. Decent café/diner fare. Breakfast is good, lunch/dinner menu is somewhat small but the food is pretty decent. They have a few interesting items usually. As the other reviewer said — liver and onions! I personally like liver and onions, so this is pretty cool — don’t see that much. The fish fry on Friday used to be THEBOMB. It’s still pretty good, but not what I remember. I’d still recommend it if you eat here on Friday. The reason this place gets 4 stars instead of 3 is because everyone is so friendly and nice. Service with a smile for sure. And if you’re from here, the lady at the cash register probably knows your mom/aunt/cousin, etc. You don’t have too many eat-out options in Medford so luckily this place is a good value.

Standard café fare but with a few surprises. Liver and onions! It’s been ages since I’ve seen that. The lunch special of a stuffed baked potato with broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, cheese and served with a side of salad was unbelievably good. The veggies were fresh. The grilled cheese and bacon sandwich was an adult treat if you’re taking a break from health food. The chicken and dumplings soup was very good with small dumplings and real chicken pieces
