A good friend raves about their sushi and while I don’t eat sushi I agreed to meet her there because I owed her lunch for a favor she did for me when I needed assistance. It was ok. Ambiance is reasonably comfortable, the temperature good, the energy upbeat, and the crowd very loud.(Some people REALLY love to eat and have a lot of fun doing it!) I’ve eaten there a second time a couple of weeks prior too, when I had our initial lunch appointment erroneously scheduled. I had the bulogi beef twice. It was good the first time, just acceptable the second. The second time it was stringy and fatty but the first time it was not. The first time kimchi on the side and the second not, they give you what they give you and you have no choice. I wanted ginger sauce as I burn through it, and during the entire meal the server ran by one time and neve asked if we needed anything. Since my mouth was full of stringy beef I couldn’t get the words out fast enough, and ultimately just decided to eat without it. The moral is, if you want to be loud and have sushi only, this seems to be your spot. But if you want lean meat dishes and to have any extras there are probably better choices. rs

Loved the food! I am gluten intolerant and was not impressed, when I asked about soy sauce and flour in the sauces. The waitress was very nice, but when she went to ask a waiter for some information, he was impatient and rude with her and then with me. I told him he was snotty with her and I and I didn’t appreciate it. During our entire meal, he complained about his schedule and the manager. If you don’t mind a rude waiter but want some delicious sushi then it’s great. Based on my B.S.C roll and my boyfriend’s chicken bento box 4 stars. Make waiter ruined it.

I really like it here. The atmosphere is great and I’ve never had bad service. My opinion is the sushi is the freshest and most beautifully plated in the valley.

The food was very good… the service prevents me from 5 star. We had to ask for several basic items like utensils/chopsticks and little soy dishes etc… could be that they were very busy with an after Christmas crowd So we will definitely go back again!

I came here on a Monday night and wanted to give this place the benefit of the doubt, but I just wasn’t that impressed. I ordered miso soup and the Imperial Roll. They give you a bowl of edamame on the house, which is a nice touch. But the miso soup came out SUPER brown and grainy… definitely not a fan of that. Additionally, it took a REALLY long time for my sushi roll to come out, and it wasn’t even that busy in the restaurant. The waitress excused the slow service because«sushi usually takes longer to prepare» than the other dishes, which is the same excuse she told the guests next to me. But really… 25 minutes for one roll of sushi to come out? I was a little grumpy when my food came out! The Imperial Roll itself isn’t bad at all. Beautiful presentation and it wasn’t bad. Pretty standard sushi, I think. But the carrots inside made it seem like I was biting into fish bones, so I kept picking it out. I also don’t think the sushi roll was worth $ 15.95! Ouch.

Visited here from California, and was super hungry for sushi. As soon as I walked in the door, it was a awesome experience. Kathy, the hostess, is a beautiful person, with a welcoming personality. Tony, the sushi chef is a MASTER!!! Server, tall American gent, was flawless, great service. Food… Combo plate… variety off rolls… Veg/Shrimp tempura… Miso soup is the best! What a EPIC dinner!!! Thinking of going back tonight for a back to back visit! :)

We went in on a very busy night. There was no place except a small table by the entrance, it felt like we were kind of in the way. The service was a little slow but they seamed understaffed that night. The servers were very efficient for as busy as they were and they were great working together for the guests. The sushi rolls were tasty and great portions. However, the size of the roll was so big I couldn’t get a piece in my mouth in one bite, they seemed to be rolled loosely and falling apart when picking them up. I will go in again and see if it was a fluke.

Have been back twice recently(since my bad visit over a year ago). We had ramen that was fantastic and the service was superb compared to the last time. It was later in the evening though and not as crazy. Went back a week or so ago and ordered the yakisoba with beef med rare. The meat was cooked perfect but there was hardly any. The noodles smelled way too strong of sesame oil. The yakisoba at Sunrise Café is to die for, so that will not be ordered again here. But will return for ramen and sushi.

We ducked in for a late dinner and were pleasantly surprised by the friendly service and delicious food. The Boss roll was spicy and huge — very filling. My husband had the chicken teriyaki. It was yummy, fresh and well balanced, not sticky or cloyingly sweet. We’ll be returning when we visit Medford!

The food was delicious! The service, however, was disappointing, We had a rainbow roll, Mongolian beef, and beef yakisoba. Servers came and went, we felt very ignored.

This place is a good one! Sushi is fresh and excellent. Have been here a few times and like it every time. They bring you edamame on the house which is nice. They have delicious and unique sushi rolls. Service is good, pleasant atmosphere and moderate prices. Street parking, but easy to find. Great outdoor seating. Like this place. We have realized that getting the food to go is not good. It just is no Cas good. Don’t know why it just loses that freshness.

The fish is fresh and colorful but maybe I’m just used to California sushi. The service was good and they were there every time we needed something. When I did not like about the sushi was that anything spicy they used chili oil which is not my preference. I also did not like the texture of rice. It was a little too hard for me. I got a salmon hand roll, miso soup, sashimi salad, and a spicy scallop roll. I also shared a spicy tuna roll and had a bite of a delicious Harry Potter roll.

I have to update my review as it’s been awhile. My feelings have deeply changed for Misoya for a few reasons. First off, I still think they make really good sushi and I love their yakisoba noodle stir fry… sometimes. And that’s just it: this place is 100% inconsistent. Nothing tastes the same twice anymore and that’s a big problem for a restaurant to have. The other issue is this place has the WORSTSERVICEINTHEVALLEY. The owner is such a nasty, awful lady! If you try to voice a complaint, she just sneers at you. No apologies ever, and god forbid they give you a credit on your bill after they’ve ruined your whole meal and gotten the entire order wrong. The service is usually non-existant. I can’t tell you how many times we have sat waiting… and waiting… and, oh yes, still waiting. There is never an explanation. Then the servers take your order and disappear. Sometimes you get edamame to start with, sometimes you don’t. Sometimes you get a cold cut orange at the end, sometimes you don’t. This place is so horribly mismanaged that it has ruined what was once really delicious cuisine. It’s gotten so bad that we basically never go here anymore because we always walk out in a fit of rage after being treated so badly. We go elsewhere for sushi and noodles now and it’s a shame.

So… I have to downgrade the stars for my updated review. Man, I don’t know what’s wrong with them, but they cannot hire a good server. I’ve been eating there for a long time and have seen the servers come and go. The service seems to get worse every visit. So, I met my friend on Valentine’s evening(sure, it was busy)… but, the server was obnoxious. He kept harassing us for our order when we clearly weren’t ready to order. I felt like he was trying to pull a wham, bam, thank you, ma’am. After we ordered, my meal came first. We waited and waited. About 10 minutes later, our APPETIZER came out. My soup was already lukewarm. More time passed. About 20 minutes later, the server came by and said, «you guys cool?» Um, no, we’re not cool. Where is my friend’s entrée?! He looked dumbfounded and said, «Oh. What did you order?» Huh. By the time she got her food, mine was cold. Because who wants to eat hot soup anyway? So then, as if that weren’t bad enough, during the middle of the meal, he REACHES over our table to the table beside us. WHAT? He put his arm through our table to another table. Are you seriously that lazy that you can’t take four steps to the side to access them? We were appalled. We couldn’t believe it. Anyway, we stayed to chat after our meal and of course our dishes were never taken away. He constantly battered us with«are you cool?» in an obvious attempt to rush us out. Erg. Frustrating. This is not the only time this has happened. I’ve been in there before where I watched a couple only receive one entrée and FINISH without the other entrée even coming out. They were much more vocal about it and caused quite the scene. The restaurant tried to make up for it by comping the meal that never came and wrapping it up in a to-go box, but the couple refused to take it and swore that they’d never be back. Bummer. Also, a recent issue I’ve had is that lately, some of the things aren’t so clean. For example, my soup spoon had something really sticky on it. Almost as if a label had just been ripped off of it and the glue hadn’t been completely removed. It was weird and gross, but I was afraid to say anything because, I mean, who knows what the server would’ve done. Another time, I practically had to peel my menu apart. The pages were stuck together with some sauce. It’d be nice if they had clean utensils and wiped down the menus. I’m not sure what the issue is, but their system obviously needs a little more structure. Not to mention, more professional servers. I do stand by my first statement. Their food is good. I like it a lot. Love their spicy ramen and sushi. I just wish the service would match their food.

Nice place. But not for large groups. Maximum 4 per group. Larger groups can be tight fit. Excellent sashimi and sushi. Great Korean entrees. My favorite is Korean chirashi and spicy tofu soup.
