The produce section at this store is a disgrace to Stop & Shops everywhere.10 out of the 12 zucchini’s on the shelf were rotting or missing chunks out of them. Wtf.

I go here for the convenience. I do a lot of shopping for my 94 year old aunt in Medford. It’s smaller than most stop and shop’s so it doesn’t have everything the larger stores do but for basic things it’s fine. It’s ok to run in and get a few things. My only complaint is the cashiers are slow and they don’t even put your bags in the cart, they leave it for you to do it.

Don’t come here for fresh fruit or vegetables. I wish I lived closer to a trader joes. I hate coming here.

No self scan. Small compared to other shop and shops. They always seem to be out of plastic bags which is absurd, and there is one carriage collector that ALWAYS asks for a cigarette when I am in the parking lot. He literally hunts me down like a hawk every time and asks me.

Totally forgot to update. The day after my last review, I received an apology card in the mail along with a gift card to Stop & Shop. I’m happy that the manager had backed up his reputation.

A welcome break from the many larger Stop & Shop stores in the area. This store carries what you need at a grocery store and doesn’t have the half dozen aisles of useless stuff that the larger stores have sucked up space with for years. If you really need that missing stuff you can probably find it next door in the Rite Aid anyway! I hope it proves successful enough to get the company to entertain the idea of more stores of this size.

My nearest(aka — within walking distance if I’m not feeling lazy) grocery store only ended up being out of business for about 5 – 6 weeks, although it FELT much longer than that. I had to resort to driving an extra mile this way or a mile that way to find another S&S. Really? We need three of them within what amounts to about two square miles? But now that it’s open my grumbles have turned to joy. This past weekend, I had a $ 122 bill. That was before… The $ 5 coupon off the total bill for being new to the area, BAM! The five different coupons I utilized from the same welcome to the ‘hood flier, POW! All of my normal S&S card savings which seemed a little ramped up in the new store, BOOM! Final bill $ 71! I felt like an Extreme Couponer, this should last me almost two weeks with what I purchased too… I was more than pleased. Now I realize that these savings won’t be around forever but it’s nice to see that two weeks in a row, the area has received fliers with some incredible coupons inside. Oh and I forgot to mention, the first week it was open, there were a ton of freebies including two packs of english muffins as we walked out the door along with another free loaf of freshly baked bread. I think there were some more as well including free samples. It was a turnoff to see all the«suits» in the store though, I don’t want to be reminded my local grocery store is still another giant, corporate, conglomerate. The store is nostalgic to me, it is Johnnie’s Part II. If I didn’t notice any of the rebranding inside the store, I would still think it was the old Johnnie’s. Same amount of checkout lanes, same sized aisles… and practically the same layout. But I gotta give them credit, the prices are a ton better than they used to be and they better stay that way once the honeymoon is over. The selections of meats are also better and there is no stench in the back of the store from something rotting. In fact, anything in the fresh sections is above and beyond, better than the past 10 years I had been shopping at the old Foodmaster. So those are the main reasons I’ve given it 4-stars so far, if they let me down and jack up prices on some of the staples I’ve seen… I won’t be afraid to make the trek again to Chelsea and Market Basket. You’ve been warned in advance, S&S!

Yay for the new Stop & Shop. I guess unlike Whole Foods, S&S is efficient so they hurried their behinds up to re-open this former Johnnie’s location. This location is clean, and though smaller than most S&S’s, has everything you’re looking for. And the bonus is that it is far less janky than the Malden Center location, which has become a bit of a fright to visit. Only con I would say is that the fridge for the salad blend area must not be cold enough because there was condensation on all the bagged salads.

This newly opened store was well-stocked and had every checkout line open. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The store feels small and cramped and the old Foodmaster floors/walls etc. still show. All in all not a bad place to shop when I need to pick up a few things.

This a brand new Stop & Shop grocery store. This used to be the location of a Johnnie’s Foodmaster store before it closed their stores down. This is also the second Stop & Shop in Medford. The other one is really close by on the Fellsway near Wellington station. It’s really just like all the other Stop & Shops, just a little smaller. They have everything you would expect. Everything looks nice and new and I like that. I just wish the prices weren’t as high as they are compared to Market Basket and Target. I go to Stop & Shop mostly out of convenience because it is closer and easier to get to from my home. I like it overall, I will come here whenever I get the chance.
