I have no idea how this place has such high reviews! Food was disgusting and service was terrible. Waited over an hour for take out food, sitting in the restaurant, after calling 30 minutes prior. Employees were not apologetic, either. We ordered two orders of pad thai and a chicken satay. The satay was OK, ie edible, the pad thai was the worst I’ve ever eaten. BLECH. I’m not one to not finish a meal, but these leftover’s were tossed in the trash.(almost two full orders). If I wasn’t starving after waiting an hour and a half for my food, I would’ve tossed it after the first bite. Will NEVER order from here again.

Order from here a lot. Tonight I ordered 2 pad Thai and one shrimp tempura. Pad Thai was good but the shrimp tempura I ordered had 3 shrimps and the rest were vegetables. Definitely won’t order that again.

Adorable little Thai place tucked into the corner of Medford Sq. A friend of mine used to deliver for here so I’ve had some of their food but never actually came here or ordered on my own before. Had an okay post-gym dinner here on my way home though. Had the green curry with chicken for dinner. I should really learn that I’m not the biggest fan of coconut milk curries, but I just keep trying them to find one that I like. This one was good, but overpowering coconut milk in the curry which just seems to be the norm up in the Boston area. I’ve been spoiled by SriPraPhai in NY. Dinner doesn’t come with rice so you have to order it on the side. The food was enough that I portioned some for lunch the next day but you can probably finish an entrée in a sitting without feeling bad about yourself. The service was quick and kind. I’ll probably be back to try something else cause I feel like I’d like the food if I ordered differently.

Ordered delivery tonight. In the past, they’ve been pretty good, nothing spectacular, but a solid 3 – 4 stars for Americanized pad Thai. Tonight though, I ordered Pad Thai and Gyozas. Bad and worse. The Pad Thai. I asked for medium spice. It came nearly inedible, it was so spicy. I couldn’t even taste any flavor, just spice. The Gyoza. «Pan fried», soggy, colorless, and mushy filling. I don’t know what happened to Tom Yum Koong, but it was terrible tonight.

I would give a no star if I could. Ordered delivery at 7:55pm, food did not come until 9:18pm. Food is cold and food is all crushed into each other. The food leaked all over other stuff and bag is soaked of sauce. It’s also shady that they add delivery charge before taxes. Called their phone and no apology just that they’re busy and it’s on the way.

Good food! Pretty Americanized, but authentic enough to hit the spot. They’re mostly good about following special instructions, too, like subbing out certain ingredients or making dishes less spicy. Expensive, though, and the wait-times can be really bad sometimes. Still, one of our favorite places to eat out.

Chicken Pad Thai is really flavorful but my favorite is the drunken noodle. You can tell them how spicy you want it. I recommend the crab Rangoon as an app. Best Thai in Medford !

Moved right near by and walked over to grab some take out. Did not see anyone in the restaurant eating but I’m guessing they do a big take out business. There were other customers picking up and an employee left with large bags for delivery. I just got an order of pad Thai without shrimp. It was super hot and pretty tasty. Portion was large, almost enough for 2 people. I’d definitely go back. The menu is huge and a lot of items caught my eye.

They usually have decent food, especially the pad thai. However I was very disappointed with the takeout my wife brought back which was papaya salad. I’ve gotten this multiple times from TYK and other local Thai places. 1. barely any papaya 2. bland as hell 3. 3 shrimps, as in 3 shrimp halves, not 3 whole shrimp so… freakin 1.5 shrimps! wtf!!! 4. not spicy ATALL Its pretty sad that I had to add fish sauce myself at home and more pepper. Quit making it for white people and make some legit ass papaya salad son!

I drove by this place many times. One day as I waited for the light to change the sign caught my eye. Hmmmm Thai restaurant. I winder if it can stand up to the likes as in. San Francisco. Unilocaled it and saw it had 3 ½ stars. Ok I will try it. As I opened the door, The 1st thing you look for in a local family owned restaurant is the appearance, décor, cleanliness. All passed with flying colors. The staff was cordial and welcoming. 5 stars We were seated SMS immediately someone greets us and gives his recommendations. We start out with Thai beer which was served very cold. Appetizers consisted of shumai, chix satay, and gyoza steamed. All were fresh and very tasty. I ordered a Tom Yum Koong soup which was spicy like Tom Yum soup, it also contained coconut milk. Our main course was 1) Basil fried rice that contained chix thinly sliced topped with red and green peppers. Delicious! 2) seafood madness was spicy and the seafood fresh and tender. This is a must try! 3) chix and eggplant stir fried. This dish had a tremendous depth of flavor! 5 stars. Dessert was fried coconut ice cream Thie best this food I hsve had hands down! This place one me over I will return!

I love Thai food, and this place. I highly recommend the Crispy Pad Thai, Spring Rolls and the Crab Rangoo’s. The quality and the freshness of the food is top notch. Many times my wife and I would order take out and pick it up on the way home from work. We really miss this place now that we are out of the area. The staff are all really friendly and outgoing. I also found that they will customize most dishes for you and make dishes for you. I do not love Fish Sauce and I have talked with the waiter or the hostess and they have tailored my dinner to my liking. I am also a real big fan of the Drunken Noodle. This dish is great, just the right amount of heat.

Pretty darn good! I got fresh veggie rolls with tofu, which were great b/c they had both basil & cilantro inside, Thai iced tea which was right on point, and tofu pad thai. Now, I would have easily given Tom Yum Koong a solid 4 stars had I not received«vegetable pad thai w/tofu,» meaning they committed my pet peeve of including untraditional veggies like carrots, broccoli, baby corn and the like. I hate that when I ask for tofu instead of chicken/shrimp, I often end up getting this terrible transgression against pad thai-! I was hoping for the regular version but w/tofu as the protein. Simple. Alas, I’ll have to leave 3 stars for them even having a «vegetable pad thai» on the menu, but that business aside, I highly recommend this place and will be ordering(more carefully) from here in the future!

Super excited by this place! Super nice delivery Driver. I wish he could bring me all my ordered food! Something really excellent that I have been looking for recently is soft shell crabs. Two of them deep fried with a nice assortment of veggie and a yellow curry. For $ 15 reasonably priced. I will say that flavor was not effected however I believe they were coming from frozen just because one of them was filled with water. Like I said though, Delish. Drunken noodle and Crab Rangoon are fantastic! Green Curry with Tofu and Veg I was not a fan of. Tofu was wayyy over cooked. The Green and Yellow Curry tasted exactly the same and were the same in appearance as well. Some mistake must have been made. All in all it was a good experience kind of on the line between 3⁄5 and 4⁄5 but went with a 4 star because of the friendly driver and tasty crab. Definitely will be returning.

Ugh I am disappointed. My grandma loves this place, and Unilocal seems to back her up. She tried Thai food for the very first time here, at the ripe old age of 88. Based on her recommendation, I ordered the basil udon noodle with chicken and the veggie dumplings. Bleckkk!!! The basil noodle tasted entirely of fennel, probably because 75% of the dish consisted of it. You simply could not taste the chicken, the peppers, the zucchini or the corn that supposedly also exited within the dish. The noodles also were far too eggy and soggy. The veggie dumplings were not fully cooked, one whole side was raw. On a positive note, food was delivered on time and by a very sweet delivery man. If you order via the Foodler app, you can use Level Up, but no rewards to be had. There is a $ 2 delivery fee… boo! But remember you need to tip on top of that, there is no guarantee that tip goes to driver. If you order through the Foodler app, you get 10% back in Foodler credit that you can use on the next order. I’m in no rush to go back.

I would not recommend this place. I got a dish called«Seafood Madness» I believe, which consisted of 40% in onions, 40% in mushrooms, 10% in red peppers, and 10% in seafood. For $ 15.95 I believe. Not only that, but that was really no flavor. Dish was hot but flavorless. Would not recommend.

Prompt delivery, and everything we’ve had has been very good: the tom yum soup is not-messing-around SPICY, the green curry, the red curry, the drunken noodles, the basil fried rice. On one occasion, the crispy chicken seemed like it hadn’t been drained correctly and was not crispy. However, everything else is fantastic — I’m salivating just thinking about it.

Crab Rangoons weren’t the best we’ve had but did have a good amount of filling. We also judged on their leftover taste, cold from the fridge, which did not pass muster. So be gluttonous and finish them all while they’re still hot! Drunken Noodle was saaa-PIE-seeeee. Whoooeee. Don’t let that single chili symbol on foodler fool you. Otherwise, good. Mango Fried Rice was good, just not enough mango. Seafood Madness was more like Onion Madness. Had to pick through the onions to find any seafood. Definitely not worth the price at all. And I thought there were supposed to be steamed clams? We got mussels instead, which were eh. Free Thai Rolls with delivery through foodler. Free = Awesome. Thai Rolls = Not awesome but not terrible. Still unsure of what the filling was comprised of though. Curry? Smushed veggies of some sort?

Take out or order delivered, lest you like the feeling of eating in a dentist’s waiting room. TYK nails it with flavor and texture — whether you’re popping serious spice from the tom yum broth, or planting chompers in the tender seafood swimming around the pool of Paradise Noodles. Saturation of proteins is a bit inconsistent(the soup had a single shrimp, and the mussels were all but missing from the entrée), but what’s there is fantastically prepared. Nothing gummy, bland or bearing the unmistakeable nuances of a too-long deep freeze. Fresh mushrooms, melt-away squid, al dente noodles — I can’t imagine the plates are anything less than prepared to order. Which is nearly impossible, as they’re served lightning quick. Expect heavy portions with the gut bomb to match, priced reasonably and boxed in less than ten minutes. Keep ‘em on speed dial, yo.
