Zubeda’s Spa

Zubeda’s has brought much-​needed salon and spa services to Medford Square. The haircut I received was excellent — Melissa T. had creative ideas, and I’m happy with the end result! I hope to try some of their other beauty services (nails, etc.) another time. The quality is comparable to salons I’ve visited on Newbury St. and in Charlestown, but the price is better because you’re not paying a premium for location. The best part? It’s a 2 minute walk from my house — no need to worry about traffic or parking.
The inside is cutely decorated, and the staff create a friendly atmosphere — it was a nice surprise to meet the owner Zubeda, too. If you live near Medford Square, or even if you don’t, Zubeda’s is well worth a visit.

Zubeda’s is amazing. I’ve followed Zubeda to locations. This newest one that she owns is perfect! The whole team is great but I highly recommend Raquel for your next massage. My neck is a mess of knots and she works them out.

I was visiting a friend in Boston from Texas and she highly recommended we have a spa day here at Zubeda’s. I had a massage, facial and pedi done by Raquel and she was awesome. I like a strong massage and she was on point! Facial was awesome too and really helped clear up my skin. On top of the good services she was also a sweetheart and you could tell she really enjoys her job. The whole staff was really welcoming and hilarious. I even mentioned wanting east coast pizza during my pedi and Zubeda bought pizza from across the street! Truly exceptional and sweet person. If I lived in Boston I would be here all the time for services and for laughs! Highly recommend this place!

Zubeda is a master at her craft. I see her every 4 weeks for a facial and she has 100% transformed my skin. I used to get really bad break outs every month, and it was so frustrating that I couldn’t keep my skin clear. A combination of seeing her regularly as well as the simple skin care routine/​products she recommended has changed my skin completely. I am finally confident enough to go makeup free and I truly give her all the credit. I cannot say enough good things about her. She also has an amazing personality, is so so genuine, and extremely down to earth. She’s the best!
She’s also the queen of waxing — from eyebrows to brazilians, she’s your girl.

Best Esthetician. Ever. I try to get in for a facial every few months but it doesn’t always happen. After every facial my skin literally glows, not to mention I feel beyond relaxed!

I have been getting my eyebrows done by Jessica for years – even before she was at Zubeda’s, and I will never go to anyone else. Jessica takes her time to make sure your eyebrows are shaped perfectly. She is so friendly and sweet. I never have to worry about my brows coming out bad. I will always recommend her services.

Love it here!!! Especially love Greg Chase, who I followed here from his old salon. I got ready for my prom here, hair, nails, and makeup for not too bad of a deal, also there is a florist right next store who will do the flowers really well for pretty cheap so its super convienient!
Everyone is so friendly and there seems to be a real family feel among the staff. The décor is awesome. I haven’t done any of the messages yet but the rooms look lovely and I’ve only heard good things from the other customers. Overall the place is very clean.

Melissa was recommended by a friend and I received the BEST cut and color I’ve ever had. I am from Boston and usually frequent high end salons and spare no expense but have never been this happy with my hair! I will never go anywhere else!

I have been going to Jess for my facials for over 2 years, and referred many friends– who also were very happy with the treatments and results. She worked at A Different Concept day spa prior to moving here. Prior to Jess, I’ve gone to multiple other establishments. She is the best. For the price, you get a lot done. She takes her time and is very meticulous. The experience is always relaxing, and without fail I’ve fallen asleep each time while she’s massaging me. My skin has cleared up, since seeing her. She has given me product samples, but does not push products.
She spends as much time as needed to clean, declog, and extract pores– does not rush. She also keeps extractions as comfortable and painless as possible. For the facial she starts with 1) cleaning and exfoliating your face 2) steams and opens up your pores for extractions 3) while steaming face, she massages your arms and hands and offers you warm mitts 4) then she meticulously cleans every clogged pore and sanitizes face afterwards 5) face massage 6) applies mask 7) massages your scalp and neck while the mask is setting 8) cleans face again and applies moisturizer.
She does not stop and focuses on you for the entire hour. Going to anyone else has been a disappointment since she has set such high standards. Also, she is very nice, personable, and professional.

So I was badly in need of a haircut, but like a real nice shaped layered cut, not a simple trim.
I scheduled an appointment the day before and was lucky. When I arrived my coat was taken and I was offered a beverage (water, coffee or tea). The spa is beautifully decorated with fine wood carved furniture and beautiful Moroccan lanterns, it’s clear that love and care was put into this space.
My stylist was Christine and she was fantastic! She was funny, welcoming and an impeccable artist of her craft.
Before anything was done she examined my hair. Asked what I liked, offered suggestions and listened. I was taken to the back where I received a relaxing shampoo and then it was time for the cut.
I asked for layers and got some of the best layering done… ever. It was great! Christine truly knows hair! after cutting my hair perfectly, she proceeded to curl my ends so I could truly see the layering affect and WOW! It was simply stunning! I had these gorgeous layers with small flips and elegant waves.
When I went to work today my students and colleagues did a double take, yea, she’s that damn good.
I booked Christine for a color job immediately after my cut. I cant wait and I’m so glad I found this gem!

Zubeda’s massages are amazing and I make a special trip just to make an appt with her. I highly recommend it. I am so relaxed.
I haven’t tried other services so I can’t give an opinion there.

I was very happy with my experience here. First of all, the woman who greeted me was so sweet (I believe her name was Marianne) and made me feel right at home. She offered me coffee or tea, and there were also a bunch of snacks available. The salon was decorated beautifully and though it’s small, had a nice atmosphere. I had a haircut and color done by Greg C. and it came out great. I love my ombré highlights and have already gotten many compliments. I’ll definitely be back.

Followed my favorite stylist, Greg Chase, to Zubedas Salon. The salon was very cozy, clean, and they played great music! The receptionist was friendly and Zubeda seemed very nice. Greg did an amazing job as always! Typically I get blonde highlights (which he is fabulous with, I always get compliments on my blonde looking very soft and natural) — but today I was looking for a change. I asked Greg to help me achieve a balayage /​ombré look — it turned out great! Greg is extremely knowledgeable about hair and color, and he takes the time to explain the process that may go into a specific look or style.
I moved to Boston a few years ago and had trouble finding a good hair stylist. Then I found Greg! His work has been spot on and consistent, and he has even saved my hair when another stylist, for lack of better words, jacked it up! Greg has made Boston feel more like home for me and I see him as not just a stylist but a friend :)
I have recommended many family and friends to see Greg, all of whom have been very impressed and happy with Greg’s work! You should go see for yourself at Zubedas Salon in Medford!

My favorite hairstylist Greg Chase just relocated to this salon and spa and I couldn’t be more excited! Greg literally gives the best highlights in Boston. If you are looking for soft natural highlights look no further and book with Greg today! He has a natural eye for color and isn’t afraid to give his professional and trained opinion on what works best for you and your lifestyle! Not to mention now that he’s here you can also get your polish color changed or a quick 30 min relaxing massage while your foils process! I couldn’t be happier with the laid back atmosphere. Your definitely going to feel at home here! Tip: there are two Gregory’s working here so make sure you specify Gregory Chase when booking!

I had an appointment with Greg Chase today for a partial foil and haircut. He is excellent! He has recently moved from Lindsay Griffin Salon to Zubeda’s Spa. He does such perfect highlights and haircuts that I followed him to the new salon. Not only is Greg still great, I also got a massage from Zubeda while my foils were processing. She is the owner of the salon and also a very wonderful massage therapist. If you go there for hair, ask for Greg Chase, and if you need a massage in the meantime, book with Zubeda!

I wasn’t a client of Zubeda’s at the spa where she worked prior to opening her own place, but just having been there a few times I was aware of her name because people constantly raved about her! When I heard she had opened her own spa, I decided to check it out. I am so glad I did! She is truly a miracle worker with brows. Despite mine being fairly thin due to excessive waxing as a teenager (ugh, the 90’s), she manages to shape them so that there’s actually an arch! She even takes a final look at them in the natural light to make sure that everything looks right before sending you on your way.
I’ve also been in for the basic European facial, which was absolutely outstanding and in my opinion a steal for only $ 70! I had a coupon for 20% off, and didn’t realize it excluded services with Zubeda, but she was nice enough to let me use it for some products that I was going to buy (which I was going to purchase anyway — she wasn’t pushy at all). I believe she uses all Dermalogica products.
The only other service I’ve received here was a massage during Spa Week which was also great. I believe she actually ran Spa Week for 2 or 3 weeks, because she books up so quickly and wants to take care of her clients.
Lastly, the spa itself itself is really pretty, with kind of a Mediterranean/​Persian type atmosphere.
If you’re in the Malden/​Medford/​Everett area, you’d be crazy not to check this place out for some pampering!

OMG… what lies this woman is spreading! I have been a loyal customer to Zubeda for well over 10 years and she is absolutely PHENOMENAL! If you are unaware of who Zubeda is and what her shop is about, let a person who knows, tell you the truth! From the moment you walk in, the entire staff will welcome you and you will feel as if you have been going there for years! If anyone reads the garbage that PG wrote, it is very clear that she hates children, and must not have any. YES Zubeda will let us hard working mothers pop in with their kids when she does brow waxes. Life happens and babysitters are not always available. This does NOT make her shop unprofessional, it proves beyond any doubt what a great person she is! This lady states «her first clue to run» was when an extremely BUSY shop was going to try to accommodate your last minute need to get nails done. Are you insane? She was doing YOU a favor and helping you out! You should of just gone to the mall! This is what Zubeda is all about, taking care of her clients ALWAYS! Caring about them, ALWAYS! So for those who know Zubeda, we can all laugh about what this cranky lady wrote, for those who do not know who Zubeda is. You are so totally missing out! Trust me do not let Her lies persuade you, find out for yourself!

Fantastic! I’ve been spoiled! Zubeda and her friendly staff pamper her clients. My mom, sister, daughters, and dear friends and I have spent the most delightful days relaxing while receiving incredible spa treatments at her Spa. Zubeda and her staff care for their clients like family. They are extremely talented and work hard to accommodate your every need. I’m a loyal client and can’t wait for my next visit with Zubeda.
