Not a bad Acme but something about the layout of the store doesn’t work for me. Also, it seems like every time I stop in there, there are only maybe 2 – 3 lanes open. Not sure why it’s called«Acme-Sav-On» here… To me it’s just an Acme.

Beautiful store, great selection, but terrible customer service. I can’t overlook this part of the equation. Seriously, cashier, questioning me about the ingredients of my hot dogs in the checkout line? He proceeded to do the same with other products I was purchasing. Embarrassing to me, and at the same time revealing of his brazenness as an associate. This isn’t a great way to win over customers. Customer service skills need big improvements here.

This is definitely the nicest grocery store in the Lima/Aston area. Big selection, always looks clean and the staff is nice. The lighting in the bakery/produce section is a little low, the famous, «pass off bad produce» trick, but I’ve never gotten bad produce. Nice place, good price. I’ll definitely be back. Of note, it’s a little tough to get here, since it’s behind the mall. I feel like there’s a trick to getting in and out of here, like a road that shouldn’t turn into it, but does. I can’t for the life of me think of it right now though.

I have been in the area one year. This is my regular grocery store. The staff is friendly and competant. It’s a grocery store, not a botique store you find in the city or outer suburbs– so, it can be limited in selections. I do wish they had more checkers because the lines can get long. However, it’s a good store that meets most of my needs.

I have no idea why the reviews are so low for this place, but maybe living closer to Center City I was more in awe of the size of it. There was so much space and so much to choose from. The prices seemed really good. They have a lot of options at the deli counter and everything seemed so fresh. I would kill for a market like this in my neighborhood. My buddy who lives in Media told me that it’s one of the smaller markets near him. So yeah, maybe it’s just a bigger deal to city folks like me. That’s one thing about the suburbs, they tend to have great supermarkets.

Friendly staff — a few of which have been there for years, and also a few who appear to be «mentally challenged». Kudos to Acme for that. Meanwhile, the prices are fine(cheaper than Giant) but also they do not carry certain items like Hint Water(I have to trek to Giant or the new Whole Foods for that) and other organic goodies. They carry Reed’s Ginger Brew — but want 6.89 for a 4 pack. Ee-gads! Anyhow, I do shop here and will continue to do soas it is on my way home from work. But for major weekend shopping it’s Giant or Whole Paycheck for me. P. S. Your Newman’s lemonade was nearly 3 weeks out of date in the Dairy Case.

This Acme is relatively clean compared to most of the other grocery stores in the area. The staff are particularly friendly and helpful. The parking lot is huge and well marked. The aisles are a decent width. The prices for normal things people buy are generally the same as any other major supermarket, and the weekly sales are usually good. I’ve been shopping here for about five years, and prefer it to the other nearby Acme and Giant. On the downside, the produce is abysmal. Fruit is often bruised, moldy, or rock hard. Vegetables are only marginally better. Some products are not in the aisles a person would assume they would be in. There is congestion at the check-out lanes. The seafood department does not have much seasonal variety. Trader Joe’s is a much better place to get cheeses and nuts.

I’ve lived in many parts of the country, and I don’t think I’ve had a worse primary grocery store than Acme. It’s expensive and they too often lack sufficient checkout people, which means the lines get backed up into the food aisles. Too often I’ve come home to find the milk, cheese, or other staple I bought there was about to expire. Too often I’ve come home to find the berries I bought there were moldy on the bottom. They recently stopped carrying 2-liter club soda in favor of the more-expensive 1-liter bottles. That’s just a small sample of the ways this store tries to extract maximum profits from its customers while providing abysmal service and quality. Trader Joes’ quality and pricing is far, far better, but there is much they don’t carry, so I really need a full-service supermarket too. I’ve pretty much given up on Acme and made PathMark down the road my primary grocery store.
