This place is a joke. Once inside, the carnival theme made much more sense. Everything was closed off so you couldn’t see inside just like at the carnival where they have the bearded lady and two headed goat. Once you see them you realize you’ve been scammed. That how I felt when we got past the curtain. Two high school aged looking kids were working during our visit and it seemed like they were only there to collect money. They did no interacting with visitors as staff did with the other reviewer. Inside was not as nice as the pictures on the website suggest. We spent much of our time«digging for fossils» which my three-year-old son enjoyed, he wasn’t put off by the fact that most of the fossils were ripped up pieces of rubber or some sort of plastic like i was. Also, by that section there was a horribly put together 2 minute video that looped over and over that I think was mocking evolution and promoting intelligent design. It was such a bad video I really wasn’t sure what it’s purpose was, so I asked the cashier what it was promoting, and she said both. When I told her that the two contradicted each other she said that she didn’t know then what the video was about. Also, as the price now per person is only $ 5, it seems that some people used the place as daycare. I witnessed one father tell his two 7 – 9 year old children that he would see them in a little bit, and he hadn’t returned in the entire hour we were there. It was fine for a last minute rainy day activity, but I wouldn’t go again. And I definitely wouldn’t go if I was looking for an educational activity for my children.

This poor exhibit is just DYING. My 7 year old likes the digging part — but for $ 6 – 7 admission(and they charge the parents, too) it is so not worth it. Many exhibits are in need of repair. You can only spend about an hour here max(I was bored after 20 minutes — took the kid a little longer.) The staff(one guy in particular) are friendly and good with kids. Not great — needs some serious help.
