Dr. Robbins removed 4 teeth for our one daughter in advance of braces. It was a somewhat tricky surgery because there was some risk of hitting nerves, but he was AWESOME, and his staff could not have been more helpful. He also removed our older daughter’s wisdom teeth when she was 18, and again, the experience was perfect. He is the consummate professional, very personable and caring and reassuring at every stage. I even referred him to a friend of mine whose 17 year old daughter needed her wisdom teeth removed, and her experience was the same as mine, very positive.

Dr. Robbins and his staff claimed that my insurance did not cover an dental implant. They claimed to have contacted my insurance company about insurance coverage. My insurance company stated that the Dr.‘s office stopped communicating with them after the tooth was extracted, which was covered. It cost me 3000.00 out of pocket for the implant procedure. I discovered that I did have insurance coverage for dental implant after switching to another oral surgeon, several years later, for a second implant. By accepting insurance, Dr. Robbins would also have to accept the insurance company’s fee schedule, which is much less than his cash demands. There is no way I could recommend a health care professional who is so unethical. When contacted on this matter, there was no response from his office. I contacted the Pennsylvania dental licensing board to investigate. Too many years had passed before I discovered the deception for the board to act. I live outside of Pennsylvania and he may have seen that as an opportunity to fleece me. He is involved in every professional board and organization in the state, which helps cover his tracks. If that isn’t enough, there is mounds of paperwork a patient is requested to sign, which absolves him of his professional responsibilities. With so many good oral surgeons to choose from, there is no reason to deal with this creep.

This guy deserves no stars. I took the day off to help my brother with his wisdom tooth surgery that was originally scheduled at 8:00 in the morning. They called him to move it to 9:30am a few weeks before. They called him again a week before to change it to 12:00 noon. He took the day off of work too. He had nothing to eat or drink all morning to be ready for anesthesia. Twenty minutes before the surgery, as we were on our way there, the secretary called to cancel and reschedule for another day. My brother, obviously angry about this told the secretary that the appointment was moved 3 times already. The secretary told him that he changed the time on them, which was not true. There was no apology on their end. My brother cancelled his surgery entirely after that.
