I won’t eat at any other Chinese restaurant around! Mini ravioli and spicy chicken teriyaki!

The wait staff was very kind and attentive so I gave this place 3 stars based on their customer service. The food is not so great and doesn’t have a ton of flavor

Best Chinese food around! I have been going here for years with my family. Even now living in my own I still choose the lotus when I want Chinese food.

Discovered this place not long ago. Food is above average and the price is cheap. Seating at the restaurant you get rushed so i usually get the as take out. Karaōke nights are fun and the drinks are awesome. Very solid place, recommended for either take outs or to try the karaōke nights(fri — sat)

I’ve been coming here since i was an infant. Best Chinese around and joe makes a mean Mai Thai. I’ll be moving to Florida in a month and I’m sad to have to find some place comparable. Don’t listen to the bad reviews. This place is yummy!

This is similar to a review a year ago. The parking lot was filled — the craze surrounds the ’21+ area’, as there was only one table in the regular side occupied. I did takeout(like I do with any typical Chinese restaurant) for vegetable fried rice and vegetable lo mein. Mediocre food that other places in the surrounding areas can do better at… this visit was a «hungry in & out» on the way between Milford & Medway. don’t think it’ll be done again :\

Pissed off! On Saturday night we went out with our friends to celebrate a birthday at the Medway Lotus. My husband left his coat there. A very expensive Columbia. I just called to let them know we would be by to pick the coat up. The man at the Medway Lotus very rudely interrupted me to yell at me «NOCOATHERE, LADY» approximately 4 seconds into the call, and then hung up on me. After that I had my husband call, and he was also yelled at and hung up on. I called back today on a whim and asked for a manager. I was yelled at by said manager that he may have coats but is not going to take the time to tell me if he has mine, and to not call back again since I had already called 3 times. This manager was extremely rude! My husband drove 45 minutes out of his way to check this afternoon, and lo and behold, his coat was there. I will continue to be a walking bad review for this restaurant. Never in my life have I received such awful customer service. Only one star because i have to give them one star to post yhis, but it’s really NOSTARS!

Went to the lotus with 4 friends. 3 out of the 4 of us woke up the next morning vomiting uncontrollably. Went to the restaurant and only ordered scorpion bowls. Definitely had some sort of bacteria in our drinks. Never felt so sick before in my life. I will never go back. And recommend others to be cautious of the environment. The lotus is definitely not a clean environment so others should be very careful coming here!!! It would be a great bar if it didn’t make you puke your guts out the next morning. I would be careful going to an establishment when even the drinks are filled with diseases. Be careful!!!

ood is delicious– and fast. Joe is amazing and really takes care of you. I’ve been coming here for years and literally have never had a bad meal. the décor is outdated but who cares! Friday and Saturday nights is karaōke night so the bar side gets really loud, so if your looking for a more quiet atmosphere sit on the restaurant side. They also have a little hidden room that they use for functions– it has long tables and a pool table in it. Usually if you have a group of people you can go in there and they’ll bring drinks and food to you. The drinks are strong, and everything is very reasonably priced. Great place to meet up with friends or date night. If you are going to enter the bar area on thurs fri or sat nights — they do check id’s so make sure you have it handy. I do not understand these bad reviews as i’ve never ever had a bad experience there.

Mediocre at best… came in excited about trying this place as we usually go to Jings. Starting off with the tea, it tasted off. I then had the wonton soup and it had no taste! It had a lot of potential, filled with lots of veggies, wontons, and pork strips; however this lacked any taste, even with the soy sauce. The other dishes we had disappointed as well — the spicy beef stir fry had no flavor and no spice. We even got the hot mustard on the side — that had no taste either! I also tried the the chicken chow mein… this was the best of all the dishes because it is normally bland. We will never be back — the beer was cold, although we only had one because we wanted to get out of there to go somewhere else — we needed to stop for food at Jings on the way home.

There is a reason why about 75% of the reviews for this place talk about Karaōke and bar drinks — because the food is absolutely disgusting. My wife and I decided to try Medway Lotus after we found out our planned dinner that night had gone bad, I called and ordered just standard«most every chinese restaurant has this» kind of stuff — pork fried rice, general tso’s chicken(which despite being everywhere is actually hard to make correctly and usually shows how good the rest of the food is) with some crab rangoon’s etc. Part of this was because they have no website and no menu exists for them online — all in all our meal came out to about $ 32. The parking lot was packed when I got there, and when I went in it appeared the restaurant side was dead — it was the bar/karaōke room that was filled with painful renditions of Johnny Cash being audible from the lobby. This being take-out I did not try anything at the bar, and had no intention of it even if I was eating in. When we got home with the food it was luke-warm(I arrived there within 20 minutes of placing the order and about a 15 minute drive home on the way back). I was not expecting authentic chinese food based on reviews, I was expecting the heavily americanized stuff that most folks 20 or older grew up with — what I was not expecting was the completely disgusting excuse for edible substance that came home with me. The crab rangoon’s were definitely the best part — because all it is supposed to be is cream cheese, chives, and crab in a fried wonton — well apparently lotus puts just about all cream cheese, a tiny bit of crab stuffed it in a wonton and called it a day. The general tso’s chicken tasted worse than the garbage labelled as such in the frozen foods section at your local grocery store(think about just how bad it needs to be for that…), the rice was… just about black with soy sauce. Everything tasted almost entirely of salt, and I am 100% willing to bet MSG is a huge factor in this food because I spent the entire night waking up with dry mouth, as did my wife, which we can only attribute to the food. So, if you want to go to what is allegedly a good bar(as a disclaimer: I have never had anything at said bar or even seen their bar menu) and karaōke — then I guess, at least according to most other Unilocalers this place is ok. If you want actual food — go elsewhere, preferably as far from Lotus as you can.

What is not to love?!? First of all — Joe is FANTASTIC!!! We go here about once a week, he knows my drink order, dinner order and is just overall a sweetheart! The food is great and gets to you quick. I typically get headaches from chinese food, so they are always great about steaming my food without an sauces — no attitude, no issue, just gets it done. I don’t hit the karoke on the weekends, but have heard it’s a lot of fun. Good food, great service and fantastic drinks!!!

Lotus– I like you! Honestly, I would go here just for the wonton soup and fried dumplings. Those are my 2 favorite little guilty pleasures, and Lotus just does them right. That and… The drinks are«strong». Lol Who’s complaining? Not me! The talent featured on karaōke nights– stupendous! I challenge you NOT to crack a smile on karaōke night. If you can manage to keep a straight face, you may want to check your pulse. TALENT! Complaining about the décor? I WOULDN’T dare! This place is original vintage, I think it’s come full circle, and is AWESOME– just the way it is! Not everybody is going to «get it», but I do. And I like it! All of these things add up to an experience that you’re unlikely to have elsewhere — for better or worse — and that makes Lotus stand out.

Hello in Unilocal land! Today I am going to review the Medway Lotus. I’ve eaten there on many occasions and know most of the staff by name. It’s never occurred to me to review them, but in an effort to help my fellow Unilocalers to some good Chinese food in my hometown, here goes! As I said, I’ve been eating there for many years and though the place could use a serious facelift on the inside and outside, the service is consistently top-notch. The owners take a great deal of pride in service and it shows. Everyone is very attentive to your needs and it is certainly refreshing. The food is good, not superb, not superlative in any way but there’s plenty of it and it is always good, and it is consistent. It is exactly what you would think given the décor, good food at reasonable prices. You know exactly what you’re going to get when you go in there, good food, superior service and a check that won’t break the bank. Now if you’re feeling adventurous, try one of the drinks there! They are always mixed very strong, yet, they are consistently good and again the prices are reasonable. You certainly get your share of liquor in every drink, no question about it! Even better, they have karaōke twice each week, and it draws a very good crowd. It’s always a good time, though it gets very loud, but that is to be expected given the size of the bar and the number of folks crammed in there! The bottom line is, go there if you want good food and drinks at reasonable prices. If you’re looking for ambiance and a more genteel experience, it is certainly not the place for you, but then again one wouldn’t necessarily be in Medway looking for such an experience. I’ll be going there for many more years to come, in fact it is my favorite place to have Chinese food!

Definitely a hidden and not-so-well publicized gem. Must have driven by the restaurant on Route 109 hundreds of times over the last 10 years without ever a thought of going there. It doesn’t look like much from the outside. Then, over the last 2 years or so, 2 of our favorite«old school» Americanized Chinese restaurants shuttered up(Pago Pago in Milford, and South Pacific in Newton). So, out of desperation we gave it a try, and have been regulars since. Not too many places around serving the old style Subgum or Chicago chow meins, pupu platters the way they used to be, and the really dark looking fried rice … but if you like the type of Chinese food that the restaurants your parents took you to served, give it a try. The décor is very dated, but they don’t charge you an arm and a leg either. Very clean. Staff is always very pleasant and prompt.

First time here and it was great. Sat over on the bar side in a booth. The atmosphere is better than most other local Chinese restaurants. Had an awesome waiter who was very attentive, wish I got his name but chances are if you go he will be there, a lot of locals seemed to know him well. Just went for drinks and apps. Crab rangoons were awesome — came out hot and very quickly. Definitely try this place. I will be back soon to see what else they have to offer!

Standard Chinese food. Strong drinks, great bartenders, and always a very interesting crowd. Highly recommended if you need a drink. Theyll take care of you. If youre looking for a high end crowd, dont bother. This is a working mans bar.
